Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 364: Individual strength

There was no need to return to the Shirai academy to spar with Aisha and Miriam.

Shane was only a student on paper and didn't even attend the exams anymore, while Aisha had resigned from her post of teacher.

Due to that, he could invite the two young women to visit the Neptua Ladra region where the nurturing grounds of the Astral Starlight faction were situated.

Not only was it possible to spar against each other, but Shane thought that the new members of the Starlight guild might be interested to witness their spars.

It was great that both women had enough time and interest to spar with him, otherwise, there could have been some problems for him making them pay heed to his request.

They didn't seem to have any desire to participate in the Primordial tournament which was interesting to Shane.

It was evident that their mana purity was not at par with those of the Primordial tournament's participants as it was at least one if not two percentages higher.

Shane didn't think much about such a tiny difference in one's mana purity.

However, according to the two young women, a single percentage had a huge difference within the percentages ranging in the 90s.

Compared to the one percentage difference in the 80s, it should be several times higher.

This was interesting to know, and Shane couldn't help but want to test it out.

As long as he was able to defeat Miriam without using too much of the Hidden Paradise's stored mana in connection to the Invincible Scimitar, everything would be fine.

Thus, when they met, the first thing Shane did was to fight against Aisha.

He found his own mind cruel, but somehow, he didn't think that Aisha would be a huge threat.

Her mana purity was said to be at [96%], but Shane had defeated so many opponents with such a high mana purity, that he didn't think too much about them anymore.

However, it was only when they stood opposite each other inside the combat ring that Aisha revealed her holy aura.

This was something Shane had never fought against. As such, he disregarded his earlier thoughts and quickly unsheathed the Invincible Scimitar.

A long spear manifested within Aisha's hands, and Shane, who was already familiar with that weapon, could only smile lightly.

The moment the combat ground AI announced the start of the fight, Aisha shot forward, crossing half the distance between them in mere two seconds.

Meanwhile, Shane exerted the [Light step] technique and the [Mana membrane] skill, only to swiftly step aside.

However, instead of hesitating, she continued to advance, thrusting her spear out once it was in Shane's proximity.

Yet, instead of evading the attack, Shane exerted his complete physical strength and the minute details he could perceive from the [Eagle Eyes] skill that was passively activated.

Because of that, he was able to evade the spear thrust by a hair's breadth, allowing Shane to slash at the spear.

This was almost enough to tear the spear out of Aisha's hands, but she maintained an iron grip on it.

However, what Aisha didn't expect was that Shane didn't plan to take her weapon, let alone destroy it.

Instead, he had already achieved what he'd wanted, which was to distract her for a quarter of a second.

When Aisha noticed that something was off, she unleashed her entire Holy aura, only to feel a distinct bloodlust-killing-intent enveloping her entire body.

Unable to disregard the vile aura that had started to leech on her holy aura, Aisha was forced to activate a few skills at once, to intensify, strengthen, and to control herself and the aura.

A moment later, Shane noticed that her spear was glowing in a bright, white light, which resulted in him having a massive headache.

Due to that, he had to distance himself from Aisha with closed eyes to prevent being blinded for a few seconds as his high perception warned him of several attacks that seemed to reach him at the same time.

If Shane were to be alone, he would have trouble noticing which attack was real, and what kind of feint she used, but that was not necessary.

Initially, he thought that it was not important to figure out what exactly Aisha's petty trick was. Instead, his only task was to evade the attack and defeat her.

Miriam was stronger than Aisha, and if he was unable to defeat the Valkyrie captain, it would be useless to fight against Miriam, let alone participate in the Primordial tournament!

The opponents he would meet there were merciless and stronger than both of his friends!

Because of that, defeating them by using everything he knew would barely help him.

Owing to that thought, Shane disregarded his earlier thought of allowing Cosmo to use his [Space Jump] ability to save him.

Right now, it was the perfect time to figure out how strong he, as an individual without any help from his tamed beasts or the soul bound world, was!

Unfortunately, this meant that he had to figure out what exactly Aisha's petty trick was on his own.

However, without enough time to think about it clearly, Shane could only evade into the direction, not a single of her attacks was aimed at.

Leaning forward, his head almost touched the ground, and a moment later he sensed that the bright light had dimmed down.

As such, Shane opened his eyes, lifting his head to stare straight at Aisha, who was smiling lightly.

This caused him to have a premonition, but instead of retreating which would make him lose the momentum he had just built up, he advanced.

His body was bent forward, and the Invincible Scimitar in his hand began to gleam lightly. At the same time, Shane circulated a large amount of mana through his body, enhancing every trait of his.

Aisha had assumed that Shane's speed and strength had reached his limits, which was already extremely high, but it was the exact opposite.

He was holding back a lot, and only now did he reveal what he could do.

She knew that he had yet to use his tamed beasts, but knowing that he wanted to spar seriously, Aisha didn't expect to see Umbra or Cosmo rushing to his aid.

Her knowledge about Shane's pride and train of thoughts was too good for that.

However, to think that she had underestimated Shane, Aisha couldn't help but frown as he swiftly appeared right in front of her.

His speed had only increased by a small margin and was less than a tenth of his former speed. Yet, this was more than enough to make her miss the spear thrust that had been perfectly timed.

Shane lifted his entire body at a rapid pace, while using his further increased momentum, as he slashed out with the Invincible Scimitar.

Aisha tried to use several skills at once, but Shane, who knew that she wanted to try this, jumped towards her while unleashing the bloodlust-killing-intent that enveloped him tightly.

This interrupted her skill utilization for a tiny moment which was enough for Shane to hit Aisha in a vital spot. Thus, their small battle came to an end as both of them fell to the ground.
