Primordial Dimensions
Chapter 39: Difference
[[Cultivation-link] Host's Innate skill and Cultivation will be entangled with each other. The higher host's cultivation, the more and stronger beasts host can tame]
His newly obtained skill allowed his cultivation and Innate skill to build a link, entangling with each other.
According to its description, Shane would be able to increase the number of beasts he could tame by increasing his cultivation while the same applied for the strength of the beats he wanted to tame.
He didn't know the exact calculation behind his newly obtained ability but it was entirely different compared to the normal Taming skill.
Every normal skill and technique was divided into the grading Mortal<Tier 1-3<Blessed 1-3 and so on, while further segmented into their qualities that ranged from Bronze to Mythic.
Both the grade and quality were important to determine how many beasts one could tame and how strong they could be at most.
With a [Mortal-(Bronze)] Taming skill one could barely tame a single Low-Wild beast while a higher quality meant one would be able to tame stronger beasts.
Possessing a higher graded skill, one was more likely to be able to tame two beasts, but this was not possible with [bronze] quality, and one required at least a [gold] quality taming skill.
Not only were the requirements for higher-grade taming skills more difficult to accomplish but it was also said that taming two beasts below the Master stage was the most one would be able to do.
Shane didn't know how many beasts someone at a higher stage could tame but he was sure of the fact that a Tier-3 skill wouldn't be enough to tame 3 beasts while their strength had to be weaker than the skill-wielder.
With the [Tamer] occupation everything would change slightly but for Shane, it seemed like his Innate Skill was more powerful.
These limiting strength factors also included beasts that evolved, even though there were some slight differences.
If a beast was stronger than the capacity of one's skill, the bond between tamed beast and tamer would either be severed or one would receive heavy backslashes.
Loyalty was very important in this case.
If a tamed beast loved its tamer and didn't want to leave him/her, it would restrict its strength, giving the tamer some time to adjust their capabilities to fit each other.
These tamed beats wouldn't listen to everything one instructed because they regained full control over themselves.
However, if their loyalty was extremely high, they would even sacrifice themselves for their tamer.
In the beginning, Shane thought that his Innate Skill would be roughly the same, with the sole difference that he would receive a higher boost in terms of tameable beasts and strength every quality rank his skill rose up.
Receiving additional effects like the [Growth boost], [Quality enhancement], [Affinity amplification] and even unlocking the [Quality-Upgrading], was already extremely beneficial enough but now he even obtained the [Cultivation-link], which heightened his future potential even more.
Comparing himself with normal tamers without the corresponding occupations, Shane was already miles apart from them and even someone with the 0-Star occupation [Apprentice Tamer] or 1-Star occupation [Tamer], wouldn't receive as many benefits as he already obtained without having a 0-Star occupation even if one disregarded the quality of the occupation.
Occupations were ranked from 0-Star to 5-Star and each enhancement in rank would upgrade the occupation's amplification and inherited skills by a large margin, while the quality described how strong the occupation is on the same star rating.
The quality of qualities was also divided into bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, and mythic.
Once an occupation had been picked it couldn't be changed easily.
As such it is important to pick an occupation with high quality because the quality of an occupation won't change, at least humanity had never seen such a case in the last two centuries.
Increasing the star rating of occupation was not particularly difficult at the first two stars because one only had to fulfill the requirements and acquire certain items.
Most humans that fought against beasts had at least a silver quality occupation, while other humans picked occupations that helped them to earn more income like lifestyle occupations.
Others tried to figure out ways to fulfill hidden requirements in order to obtain occupations of a higher quality.
There were too many benefits one could gain with a high-quality occupation but wasting too much time on fulfilling unknown requirements would result in worse cultivation and other aspects compared to their peers.
One had to get the perfect timing or end up weaker compared to others.
Artisans for example were also highly demanded and having a bronze occupation like blacksmith, alchemist and so on would increase the chances to produce better products.
In the end, even farmer occupations are highly sought out, because the plants they take care of were highly nutritious and more satiable than normally.
As such, almost everyone picked occupation, and in the end mankind worked together to act as a single individuum, like many other races in order to prosper and become stronger.
Black sheep could be found everywhere but most humans worked together to receive more benefits through the Primordial dimension and used the systems' support in order to survive and fulfill their desire to accomplish something great.
Shane could be said to belong to a similar case but because of his transmigration from earth, he always dreamed to be someone great even though it was only a fantasy.
This universe was far more dangerous than earth and a single mistake within the Primordial Dimension could mean his death.
Being stronger than your opponent was the most important and Shane didn't want to end like he did on earth, shot to death by a poacher, without being able to do anything at all.
The black shroud around Umbra finally dissipated and Shane could take a glance at his tamed beast.
It seemed as if Umbra's size increased to around 44 centimeters while his body was slightly more than 3 centimeters in diameters.
His scales seemed tougher and they gleamed faintly.
Umbra looked at Shane happy and hissed joyous at him, only for Shane to be able to see that even his tamed beast's fangs seemed to have been reinforced because they looked sharper.
Staring at Umbra, Shane could also feel that his little shadow snake's gaze turned sharper, more like a predator's gaze instead of a cute pet's.
Overall Shane concluded that Umbra was already stronger than most matured Shadow-snakes, even though they could even be at the peak of the 3rd Wild stage and everything was thanks to the high-quality Umbra possessed.
Smiling brightly, Shane decided to take a look into the upgrade function to figure out how much funds he had to gather to upgrade Umbra's quality into [Extraordinary] in order to take the most perfect path for his tamed beast to evolve later on.
But what he saw was rather confusing and in the end, Shane's jaw dropped to the ground where it would remain for the time being.
