*Tl: hey guys, I’m the former TL for this novel. I want to correct some information. As it turned out that Lestia has never called Lysian ‘brother’ , she called the others are brothers only.  And TL Void said Lestia called Lysian as Lysian-nim as a form of respect someone older.  So you’ll see that change in future chapters.*

“My goodness.”

“My lady…?”

Everyone who worked in the mansion had their mouths wide open at the strange sight in front of them.

Wasn’t the princess someone who can’t use magic?

But Lestia was using magic right now. And it was even an attribute that had not yet been seen in the Verchester Family yet. However, the magic created a path through the flames and smoke and blocked them from reaching Lestia.

Her white hair fluttered in the wind as a cloud-like form surrounded her

The flames licking the walls of the mansion did not even dare to touch her.

“That’s alright, right? I’ll be back.”

As if there were nothing for them to worry about, Lestia began to walk along the path back to the mansion without any hesitation. The escort knights, who worried about Lestia’s safety, could no longer stop her.

In their eyes, she was a complete and proper Verchester.

“Kghhk… Dxmn it…”

Lysian took a shuddering breath as he moved away from the burning walls behind him.

“…I’m exhausted.”

The problem was the black smoke that came out of the box. It instantly brought Lysian’s magic to its maximum output which broke his mana stone in just a blink of an eye. Thanks to that, his magic went out of control and the mansion began to burn from his vast fire-attributed magic.

He tried so hard to gather the flames together but it was futile. If this continued, then his body would not last long.

“Haha…”

A smile curled up in his mouth.

He had often imagined his death ever since he was a child. He thought that he would probably die stuck here in the Verchester Duchy. So, he couldn’t help but find it funny that it was really happening right now. He was even going to be eaten by his own flames that were created by his out of control mana.

‘Lysian Verchester’s death.’

That was what he thought.

Right. Verchester…

Lysian couldn’t figure out why the first thing that came to his mind was Lestia when he thought of that word. It was natural for him to think about Gerard, Joel and Mathias since they had been with him for a long time.

As expected the ‘One who Interprets’ is someone special. Otherwise, why would I keep thinking about Lestia at a time like this?

He remembered her round and wide eyes when she was thinking hard. Her cute habit of pouting her lips when she was in trouble. He even remembered how she shivered in fear at one moment and turned brave a second later. She was an amazing girl like that.

‘Strange. I want to see them one more time. Those eyes of hers.’

He wondered why he was having such selfish thoughts when he was in this kind of mess. The only person within these flames should be Lysian alone.

‘We were supposed to eat dinner together… I feel a bit sorry.’

He closed his eyes for the last time as he worried about the dinner appointment that he had made earlier. He was so tired and exhausted that all he wanted to do was to rest and not think about anything. Perhaps he was even waiting for this moment for a very long time.

“Lysian-nim!”

However, he felt like his ears had turned rubbish.

“Lysian-nim!Lysian-nim!”

Lysian lifted his heavy eyelids when he heard the familiar small voice that chatted endlessly in his ears. When he opened his eyes, he saw Lestia Verchester, who had now turned into a big crybaby, looking at him.

Is this a dream? What a funny dream.

Perhaps this was because the last thing he thought of before he closed his eyes was Lestia so he was dreaming about her.

He did not know if it was because she cried a lot but her big and puffy eyes were somewhat heartbreaking to see. Her small shoulders were shaking pitifully and her white hair that he wanted to pet at least once was dishevelled once again.

It’s a mess. Because of the heat of the flames, her hair is fluttering… fluttering? This isn’t a dream, it’s reality.

“Lestia…! Keuk!”

Lysian regained his senses and managed to get up after realizing that this was reality. He obviously saw the knights taking Lestia away so he couldn’t understand why she was here in front of him.

“You… how did you come here?”

Lestia tried to reach out her small hands to hold Lysian’s hands.

“No…!”

Lysian hurriedly shook her hands away. He was currently emitting a tremendous amount of heat from his body. Ordinary people would definitely get burned if they touched him. However, Lestia reached out once again and held Lysian’s hands without any hesitation.

As if nothing had happened, she grabbed Lysian’s finger and inserted the blue mana stone ring on it. And just like a parched body in the desert, Lysian’s body hungrily sucked the water-attributed mana contained in the mana stone. His overheated body began to regain stability.

Lysian frowned when he saw the ring on his finger. He also saw a magic book in Lestia’s hands. Lysian couldn’t help but burst in anger when he realized how Lestia came here.

“You…! Because of this…! Idiot! Who… Who let you… in here?!”

He had let her read the magic book but he never let her use the magic in it.

If the magic in the magic book has some problem, then Lestia would now…

Lysian gritted his teeth. He wanted to go outside and punish all of those knights right now.

“Those bxstxrds…! I made them protect you but they can’t even do their job wel…l!”

Lestia shook her head when she saw Lysian getting angry at her knights.

“No, no! I came here on my own will!Lysian -nim said that I can choose where I want to go.”

“…You idiot! I never told you to choose to go to a dangerous place!”

“But it’s my choice to go to a dangerous place!”

“What nonsense…!”

“If Lysian -nim is stuck in this situation again then I will come back for you again!”

“Ha!”

Lysian looked at her incredulously.

It was obvious to him that this child went beyond her brave rabbit state and reached the rabbit with its liver out of its stomach state.

However, the two did not have the leisure to banter back and forth anymore.

Bang, bang, bang!

The sounds of the building collapsing rang loudly around them. Even if the flames had already been controlled, they were still in danger since they did not know when the burned mansion would collapse on them.

Lysian quickly held Lestia’s arms.

“Once, once we’re out… you’ll be in trouble.”

Lestia shook her head.

“Once we get out, please keep your promise to eat dinner with me.”

Lysian sighed.

Since when did this kid start talking smartly?

He wondered if she really had this much courage hidden in her small body. He always felt it to be refreshing and amazing.

“Anyway, let’s go.”

Lysian gathered the flames and walked forward. Lestia also opened up her magic book to help him.

And as if the sky wanted to help them, Lestia heard the thunderous roar of rain from the outside. Lestia, who smelled the scent of the ground being wet with rain, cheered.

“Fortunately it’s raining!”

However, Lysian shook his head.

“No, this isn’t rain.”

They immediately heard the sound of shoes clacking on the hard stone floor of the otherwise empty mansion. And the steps were headed exactly straight towards Lestia and Lysian.

“Huh…?”

Lestia looked up at the towering figure of the owner of the shoes that stopped in front of them. She couldn’t help but shrink when she saw him.

She had seen this man, who’s emitting a cold aura around him, once before. This was the handsome man that was in the newspaper that Lysian had handed over to her when they first met.

Gerard Verchester, the master of the Verchester Duchy.

He had a colder, more intellectual and more violent impression than the one portrayed in the black and white picture in the newspaper. His neat and tidy dirty blonde hair even accentuated his cold features perfectly.

“You’re late, Gerard.”

Lysian looked at Gerard straightforwardly. Gerard only replied briefly before returning his mouth into a straight line.

“…Lysian.”

His cold blue eyes, that were devoid of any emotions, stared at Lysian for a moment before turning to Lestia.

“And… you must be Lestia.”

Crackle―

The sound of thunder and lightning crackling as if the sky was angry rang loudly as the smell of damp earth wafted in the Verchester Mansion.

Lestia thought that the rain was pouring because he was angry. Lestia did not know what to do. All she could do was grip the magic book tightly and pluck the courage to greet Gerard.

“He… Hello.”

However, Gerard did not answer her greetings. He only stared at her briefly with his cold gaze before turning back.

“Ah…”

Lestia felt surprised when she briefly felt disappointment. Perhaps it was because she thought that he would also greet her happily just like what Lysian, Joel and Mathias did. She seemed to have gotten too used to the warmth that she was given under the name of family.

“Let’s go.”

Lysian grabbed Lestia’s stiff wrist and led her outside.

As soon as the three of them came out of the mansion, the raindrops that were falling hard stopped as the sky turned clear.
