Chapter 264: Back to School?

"It seemed that you didn't get any sleep last night."

Trisha hummed while loafing around the kitchen to which Teren replied.

"Well, I did fall asleep right before you came in."

"Ah-... speaking of coming in..."

"..."

Teren looked at Trisha, waiting for what words will come out of her mouth.

"I broke the front door's lock."

Trisha confessed without any guilt.

"It's fine."

"I know, I mean, I would sympathize with the burglar more than you."

Teren just shook his head before changing the topic.

"Also, why are you here?"

"..." Trisha just stayed silent and looked at Teren with puppy eyes.

"I mean, there's school today. Shouldn't you be preparing for it?"

"Huh? What do you mean there's school?"

Trisha tilted her head. How come there are classes when there's ongoing chaos in the city? People are leaving while there are riots in front of the city hall, demanding answers to what caused the distraction in the streets.

If not for the SSDA's special measurements, people would've been filling the streets that were in rubbles at that moment.

"I don't have anything to do while I wait for Oldren's response so I called someone last night to enforce an early opening of classes."

"Don't have anything to do? Aren't you the person who's always busy?"

Teren shook his head as he just finished cooking pancakes and both of them sat beside the table.

"Not really. I can't be too active unless I have a backup. You see, the SSDA is tolerating me. I'm even surprised that they didn't take action when you went berserk."

"I thought you're their enemy? Why are they so passive?"

"It's complicated but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with Nature and Dehian, and the people in this city."

Teren continued to explain the cause and effect if they, the SSDA, poked the bee nest, Teren. Since it was reported that the Ancient seemed to be protecting Teren, the SSDA's stand on being passive was fortified. Even without the Ancient's interference, Teren is considered #4 on the AWR. Killing him will cause innocent lives. Therefore, they are waiting for the Spirit War where the battlefield is set up.

This is not just becuase the SSDA doesn't want to sacrifice innocent lives but also becuase, just like what's happening right now, if a large part of the city was demolished right now, how will the public react to it?

And then, there's still Dehian. Killing Teren will release her from a stalemate, making the Five Houses apprehensive and might take desperate actions. Their cooperativeness now will become doubtful. In other words, they want to fix everything in one fell swoop once the Spirit War starts.

"I think I get the gist of it. I mean, my family isn't publicly selling the Spirits they got from me when I was young. Only the rich can buy it. If the public knows of this, there will certainly be chaos so setting the ground first is a must for an organization for them."

Trisha replied with her understanding. She then sliced a large part of the pancake, dipped it in the puddle of maple syrup on her plate, and swallow it in one go before pointing the fork at Teren.

"Bhat yur ah-"

"-Chew and swallow first." Teren took a towel to wipe her lips. It's becoming a habit since Trisha's a messy eater while not wiping her face until she finished eating.

Gulp*

"But you're an enemy to all students. How dare you ruin our vacation."

"Shouldn't you be glad to study as a student?"

"Don't talk like a parent. I don't know a person who likes studying."

"But do you bother on getting to know anyone in the first place?"

"..." Trisha was about to argue back but found no rebuttal.

She then gave up and muttered.

"I got to know you though. But still-" she pointed the fork again, "Only a weird person would not like a vacation."

"Well, what's done is done. I'll go take a shower."

Teren said after drinking his glass of water.

"You either go home to get ready or wash the dishes."

"Or..." Trisha played with her hair.

"No, you don't have a school uniform here."

"Damnit! Wait, I'll get a set right now!"

Trisha devoured the rest of the pancake and drank her glass of water with one gulp each.

"Haa... wait for me!"

Before running away.

Of course, Teren didn't wait for her and entered the shower himself. He didn't plan on taking his time so he was about to finish when the door suddenly opened and Trisha came in while removing her underwear.

"Tsk! You didn't wait for me."

She then shoved him to the side to get under the shower.

"I noticed this last time but why are you not removing your collar in the shower."

Teren reached for it but his hand was slapped away.

"No, what if I lost it?"

"... have it your way. Anyway, I just finished so-"

"Wait,"

Trisha held his wrist to stop him.

"Are you sure you don't want to calm that down?"

She pointed downwards with her lips at Teren's raging boner. They just finished a long session last night and it was still fresh in Teren's memory. Seeing Trisha's soaked bare body made him vividly recall it.

"Well, if it's just me, I'm fine."

Teren tried to escape but Trisha didn't let go.

"So, what if it's me?"

"..."

...

"I'm going to be late to the classes I issued."

Teren complained a little. But Trisha just chuckled as the two of them were getting dressed. Since they've gone all the way, there was no more shame left between them.

"As if you didn't enjoy it." she snickered before commenting, "It feels weird. Wearing this uniform felt like everything's back to normal."

Her uniform was her usual collar uniform with shorts underneath her short skirt and jersey over her top.

"Hm... oddly, I feel the same."

Teren said before looking at Trisha with a questioning face.

"You're going to wear that to school?"

"Why not? It's the Public Boss' trademark outfit!"

Trisha proudly declared before they exited the house, bringing their bags with them. Teren chose to bring his small bag since his old one was already destroyed along with his notes.

But as they walked out of the gate, a familiar luxurious car entered their vision. One of the car windows rolled down and Eron stick his head out to call for them.

A moment later, Teren and Trisha were sitting in the middle section while Eron and First were at the front. However, First came down from her seat and sat beside Trisha for some unknown reason before Eron started the car.

"Good morning, we haven't introduced ourselves properly but my name's Loar Drago, you can call me First, I'm used to that name."

"My name's Trisha Jane, you can call me Miss Trisha."

As usual, Trisha acted as if she's the one who holds the seniority. But surprisingly, First just nodded with a smile and called out.

"Sure, Miss Trisha."

'I'm pretty sure Trisha's the younger one here.' both Teren and Eron thought.

"Actually, we stopped by to tell you about father's decision. First of all, he wants to apologize yesterday."

First said to Trisha as if Teren didn't exist. Even though Teren saved his father's life, First was bitter at the fact that he beat her father unrecognizable, probably bringing shame to the whole Drago House if this were to spread. But most of all, she was frustrated by the fact that Teren was 'deceiving and using' Trisha.

After all that Teren did, no one could deny that he's not a good guy. Furthermore, they are going to repay him now so First didn't feel any guilt in resenting him.

"Also, he agreed on backing you up."

First continued which made Trisha feel complicated.

"Does that mean... you're going to give her that, right?"

Trisha rolled her eyes at Teren to which he casually replied.

"It seemed so."

"Sir Teren," Eron was finally able to cut in. He could feel First's determination so he let her take the initiative but now that Teren entered the conversation, he too did. He glanced at the front mirror to make eye contact with Teren.

"I sincerely apologize for what happened yesterday. A lot happened and I couldn't believe that our own brother would deceive us."

"No need to be formal, I already expected that."

Teren replied with a light smile as an amicable act before looking out at the window.

"I see... but still. Also, even the eldest is questioning how you saved him. From what Ivan confessed they tried to stab his chest."

"Oh, well, it stabbed his chest but not his heart, veins, or arteries. When I grabbed the Serpent's neck, it made her miss her aim. They think that any damage would've ended Oldren's life at that point which I took advantage of."

Teren explained. Although a lot more happened than that, he left it as it is.
