Chapter 12 - 1.10 - Crimson Academy - Delusional

After Olivia cried her heart out, she went to the bathroom to freshen up, making sure she was alright to meet people. It was too late to go to school. She should at least make use of it. She went to the kitchen to grab some chocolate and potato ch.i.p.s as she wasn't in the mood to eat anything healthy.

Back inside her bedroom, she switched on her computer, and during the booting time, she opened her ch.i.p.s, munching on them.

❰ I'm back, Host, what are you doing?❱

❝Welcome back system, thinking about how to finish this world fast.❞

❰ By playing first-person shooting games?❱

❝Why not? I need some adrenaline rush.❞

❰ I see.❱

❝Well, I'm giving up one of my moral principles as I'm about to force love between Ailstar and Alisa, by locking them in the room and give them aphrodisiacs. They are one step in the relationship anyway, r-right?❞

❰ It's up to you host.❱

❝Let's wait until the Masquerade ball then.❞

After she was tired of killing aliens, she switched to MMORPG, her favorite. Because that's where she first met Mr. Jelly.

░I feel like I'm not alive. Am I out of my

mind?░

In her free time, for the whole year and a half in this world, Olivia would play online games with her old nickname BingShi. She started to get delusional, hoping that Mr. Jelly would somehow find her.

If there weren't someone knocking on her door for dinner, she would continue playing without rest. She slowly went down to greet her family and apologized for not having an appetite. Well, she had tons of junk food a moment ago, but they didn't have to know such a detail. After assuring them that she was all good and healthy, she went up to her room, continuing to play games and being delusional.

"Olivia, I'm coming in," said Grace while knocking and opening the door.

"Sure," Olivia said in a low voice. She couldn't turn away from her monitor; she was at the dungeon right now.

"Are you going to the masquerade ball?" Grace sat down at the couch and looked at Olivia, who usually was into manga and novels, now switched to computer games. Her sister was becoming stranger and stranger.

"Yes?" said Olivia while looking at her monitor.

"Are you going with Victor?" asked Grace.

"Who is Victor?" Olivia tilted her head.

"Your fiance..." Grace's mouth twitched. 'She is joking, right?'

"Oh...Not going with him," said Olivia with a poker face.

"He likes you. Why are you avoiding him?" Grace felt like a living messenger between them. No, more like a messenger for Victor.

"If you came to me only because of this, then you can leave," Olivia rushed Grace out, disinterestedly.

"Alright, I won't probe anymore. What about a gown? Do you have one?" Grace changed the subject.

░Time to put "I'm fine" on my forehead~░

"Of course! Let me show you after I finish this last Boss!" After Olivia killed the Boss, she ran to her walk-in closet and returned with a big box in her hands.

Grace became curious, but when she saw the gown, her mouth twitched, "Its a ball, not a funeral. It doesn't even show your neck!" Imagine a black chipao with long sleeves and a long A-line skirt.

"It hugs my body perfectly, hmpf! And black is the coolest color ever," said Olivia proudly. A great dress for her mood! "What about yours?"

Grace took Olivia to her room and showed her a beautiful red mermaid dress with open shoulders. Grace was two years younger, but she was more mature-looking than her older sister. Both sisters stayed in Grace's room and chatted about nothing in particular.

"You skipped class to play PC games all day?" Grace sat at her armchair, crossing her arms, staring at her sister.

"Of course not! My period started. It was too painful. Nothing to do with games," lied Olivia shamelessly, holding Grace's dress, she rubbed her tummy with her right hand.

"You are addicted," said Grace, not buying her act.

"A bit, haha!" agreed Olivia without remorse.

░I started playing games in elementary school. For my own good, for me not to get hurt, my parents prohibited me from falling in love. They were worried that during their absence I'd turn bad, meet a bad boy, and become pregnant or something.░

░As I wanted less trouble in the future, I agreed. Anything to do with romantic relationsh.i.p.s sounded like a pain in the bum anyway. In online games, I felt safe knowing that there was a distance between me and others.░

"Olivia?" asked Grace with worry. Her sister was spacing out again.

"Hm? What is it?" Olivia blinked her eyes, switching her gaze from the dress to Grace, she changed the subject, "It reminds me how is Ailstar doing after your broken engagement?"

"He is going to have a new girlfriend soon," said Grace resentfully.

"Oh, so he is still single," nodded Olivia in realization.

"Don't try to go after him. You already have a fiance..." Grace frowned disapprovingly.

"No! I mean, you should take this chance, while he is still single to be clingy to Mark," Olivia placed the red dress back to the box, "Let Ailstar choke on your dog food, hehe."

"..." Grace said nothing. She retaliated against Ailstar by stealing his friend away. Would being clingy to Mark help?

When it was time to bed, Olivia walked back to her room, dropping on the bed, she fell asleep.

Two more days until the masquerade ball...

When Olivia arrived at school in the morning, Victor, her fiance, appeared before her desk, asking her if she was alright. Giving him a nod, Olivia put on her headphones and played some music, ignoring him.

Victor's mouth twitched from her obvious avoidance, helplessly, he moved back to his desk.

For Olivia, it was strange to be back in high school, a high-class one at that. It was an interesting experience to taste a fortune worthy meal in a school cafeteria. As for classes, math and physic were easy. But for humanity classes, she always needed System's help to cheat her way.

She couldn't deny the fact that she felt out of place, surrounded by teenagers on a daily basis wasn't the type of adventure she would want to go through again. Their mentality was on a whole another level, they made her feel like a jellyfish among seahorses.

It was great that she didn't have to participate in the story personally; she had time to explore this different world. Everything was the same compared to her old one. Even the food was the same. The different things were the names of cities, countries and famous people.

The oddest thing was the people residing in this world. Everyone was exceptionally beautiful; even the ugliest would be considered beautiful in her old world.

❝System, did you sent the message to Mark? I hope Ailstar and Alisa can become a thing before the masquerade ball. They need to win a couple of the year contest. I want that 1000p.❞

❰ Yes, Host.❱

In the freshman classroom, Grace approached Mark without any shame and sat down on his lap. After what happened yesterday, he wasn't surprised by her daring act anymore. Mark easily hooked his arm around her waist, looking at her with a charming smile, "What did your sister's fiance want from you again?"

"He was concerned about her health. Both of them are so innocent. They could be a cute couple if my sister weren't so persistent. Don't know what got to her, to tread him so badly," said Grace powerlessly, returning from a talk with Victor.

"He sounds pitiful. Isn't he from a family with a political background? He is pretty low-key due to safety reasons. I wouldn't know if it wasn't for my dad knowing his."

"He is. It's rare for a family like that to raise such a good boy," said Grace, gazing at Ailstar's direction, she hooked her arms around Mark's chest.

Mark was always conscious of Grace's every action. Noticing her gaze on Ailstar, he panicked. 'Don't look at him! Don't look at him!' He moved her head to face his chest, sending a death glare towards Ailstar.

"Hm?" Grace questioned him.

"Let's go to my place after school," he lowered his face and whispered to her ear. One hand holding the back of her head, the other one was caressing her back.

"Fine," Grace chuckled.

Mark felt a cold aura coming from the back seat. When he turned his head, Ailstar was looking at Alisa with a complicated look. 'What is so special about her, for Ailstar to take an interest in her?'

After what happened with Grace, they became more estranged. Ailstar never considered him as a friend. He was the only one trying. It's been a long time since he last talked to Ailstar. Maybe they should have a long chat together to clear all the misunderstandings? But conversing with Ailstar was a bit... How would he describe it?

Taxing...

After school, Mark took Grace to his place while Alisa invited Ailstar to her humble restaurant.
