Queen Of Adis

After Haru explained her side, another awkward silence came and lingered around the couple.

"Hmph," Adis broke the silence by making a sound.

He refused to make a comment but the gloom in his eyes was dissipating. He felt like his shattered heart was visibly becoming whole again.

She continued to make him see reason. "It's not like I am going to go back to the past right now. I still need to speak with Elior as I don't have any control over it."

"Hmph!"

"If you will not talk to me, I will kiss you," she threatened him again.

"Hmph!" This time the Demon King did it on purpose for the promised sweet reward.

She narrowed her eyes at her stubborn husband and grabbed the back of his head. But instead of a sweet kiss, she suddenly bit his neck with all her might.

She heard him groan loudly and threw a series of curses under his breath but he did nothing to stop her. He didn't even move despite the rippling of his muscles as he was worried that she might fall from his body.

When she thought that she inflicted him with enough pain, she pulled herself up to check her mark on him. However, her smug grin stiffened and she instantly shuddered upon seeing the look in his eyes.

She felt like she was being stripped n.a.k.e.d by his penetrating gaze and when he looked down at her lips, his scarlet orbs blazed with wild delight. She quivered on top of him when he shamelessly licked his lips, creating a tingling sensation down her spine.

When he leaned forward and inhaled the side of her head like a starving predator to his prey, she gulped and curled her toes in anticipation.

"Woman, just so you know, this insatiable demon hasn't tasted your flesh for almost two weeks. You are treading on a really dangerous path."

"Are you... going to eat me?" she breathed out.

He watched her expression and suddenly flicked her forehead, which earned a cute squeak from his pregnant woman.

"That hurt! What did you do that for?" Haru cried out her complaint while rubbing her forehead. "Tsk! Such a party pooper."

"You're supposed to be afraid, silly wife. Why do you have a look like you wanted to be eaten?"

She tilted her head and blinked her eyes as though he didn't make any sense. "That's because I really want to, idiot!"

"You!..." Adis didn't know how to retort to that, but his friend below seemed to like it, too, as his fly suddenly became tight.

He heaved a heavy sigh and wiped his face with his palm to calm his libido. He honestly wanted to punish her for making him worried these past few days but she easily manipulated him by just a drop of her tear. Damn, he was absolutely hopeless!

"Adis, did I mention to you about my first vision?" Haru asked seriously as she c.a.r.e.s.sed the bruised she caused on him. It was starting to turn black and blue.

He shook his head then closed his eyes as he was enjoying her touch. "No, you didn't. After the gruesome fight at the isolated town of Mireville, you were in a daze and couldn't speak for the entire day. When Elior saw you, he explained that your vision has awakened and it seemed to have taken its toll in your mind. Did you not see it there?"

"I am just an invisible spectator. I just saw my past self had her awakening and then everything went blank." Her eyebrows creased when she remembered something. "Adis, do you remember fighting a cyclops when we were in Mireville? Before my vision, I thought we only encountered corpses and gargoyles."

"There was a cyclops in Mireville? I'm sure there were only corpses and gargoyles back then." Adis furrowed his brows and his eyes filled with many questions.

He continued, "Besides, there is only one cyclops in Trium Regum and he's in Gehenna right now. He was sentenced for an eternal torture due to his mass murder of an entire noble clan in Umbra. I can't be wrong because I was the one who pronounced the judgment. It happened months after we got married."

Haru nodded in agreement, "Right, I also remember the same. But why is my vision of the past different? I saw that... that you killed the feral cyclops in Mireville."

Adis fell silent as he pondered for a brief moment.

"Hold on to me, my love." Adis tightened his grip on her body as he sat up properly and adjusted her on his l.a.p. "Fang, come forth."

As always, the loyal servant appeared from the shadow and knelt before his master. "This humble servant is ready to receive your command, Your Majesty."

"How is that cyclops in Gehenna doing? What was his name again? Im... Imnus, was it?" He went straight to the point.

"My King, There's only one cyclops in this world and he was killed by you in the battle of Mireville almost two years ago," Fang stated matter-of-factly.

Adis and Haru looked at each other in disbelief.

"Impossible! This king can't be wrong. If so, what happened to the noble clan that was killed? The Blood Hounds?"

"Your Majesty, the Blood Hounds clan was banished by the pope due to numerous forbidden dark arts they conducted. According to my resources, their new home is at the southernmost part of the dark realm where no one dares to speak of due to its cursed place."

Haru abruptly stood up with eyes shrouded in panic. "Y-you mean... that clan is still alive. B-but their murder case was all over the newspapers back then. How can that be?"

Fang bowed deeply as he gave his response. "Please forgive this servant's incompetence, my Queen; however, I don't remember any news about the Blood Hounds being murdered."

She unconsciously nibbled her nails with her trembling lips. Then she looked back at her King and sobbed, "Adis, w-what should I do? I think... my presence accidentally altered the past and caused a distortion in the future. I-I'm afraid... that there might be a grave consequence to this."

"Sshh, relax," Adis cajoled him as he stroked her arms. "Don't be afraid. No matter how grave the consequence may be, Adis will take care of it for you, hmm?"

He pulled down her hands from her nervous biting and buried her face against his c.h.e.s.t.

He looked at Fang indifferently and commanded, "Prepare the carriage. I shall give the pope a visit tonight."
