Queen Of Adis

As the King of Umbra finally decided his mode of attack, no one had the power to object, not even his beloved queen.

To ensure Haru's health sustenance, Adis called Frost and proposed to store his blood. The latter just sighed when he had no choice but to acknowledge their insane plan.

"Frost, since I'll be out for days, take enough blood you need to feed my wife and child," Adis demanded when the mad doctor seemed to be done with his blood collection.

The doctor gently shook the bag of fresh blood on his hand as he explained the situation. "Your Majesty, for your safety, I can only get two units of blood from you. This one bag of blood can sustain Her Majesty for three days. I will draw another blood tomorrow to make a total of six-day supply. Please do wake up on the sixth day, else the Queen and the baby in her w.o.m.b will starve."

He creased his brows in protest. "That is simply unacceptable. The chances of not going back in six days are too high." He pulled his sleeves again and offered his arm to Frost. "Get more. At least make it 12 days in total for allowance."

"But, Your Majesty, it will be dangerous to your--"

"I'm the Demon King for gods' sake! My blood replenishes extraordinarily faster than normal. Take more, that's an order!" He insisted and won't accept no for an answer.

"No, you don't!"

A gentle yet resolute voice spoke from behind and made Adis' back stiffened. He didn't have to turn around to know who was the owner of such melody. His heart could easily recognize his mate's tone.

"Haru--"

"You are not going with me if you will insist on risking your health on this blood transfusion. Even if it's okay, I will still not allow it." Haru narrowed her eyes and poked her husband's c.h.e.s.t with her finger. "I know you are worried about me, but I am also worried about you. Listen to Frost or we can forget about taking you with me to the past."

Then, she shifted her attention to her doctor. "Frost, you are not taking another drop of your King's blood today. I give you my word, we will wake up in six days. Besides, my little devil needs proper food for his development."

"Everything shall be done according to your d.e.s.i.r.e, my Queen." Frost deeply bowed in respect and gladly obliged with the order.

Adis grimaced at his wife's nagging and immediately conceded. "Alright, alright, I won't insist anymore." He swiftly changed the topic to lift up her mood. "So are you ready to leave now?"

Her scowl turned into a wide grin upon hearing her question. She squealed and nodded. "Yes, I am excited to meet old man Triton again."

After his tedious recovery, Triton would finally be discharged from Fenghuang's infirmary today and the couple decided to pick him up. She couldn't wait to see him again after a long while.

Once Haru and Adis arrived at Fenghuang's cave, they saw that Camus was busy talking to the doctor while the retired General was standing idly beside them, boredom was written all over his face.

"Kyaa! Old man!" Haru squealed and her eyes shone brightly upon seeing the merman's mighty stance again.

She raised her foot to ran towards him, but strong arms reflexively wrapped around her from behind.

"No running, you silly pregnant brat! Last time, you almost snap the lights out of me. So, not gonna happen again!" Adis reprimanded her while pinching her nose.

She pouted her lips and tried to bite his fingers from bullying her nose. Then she softly grumbled when he swiftly dodged her attack. "Hmph, party pooper!

At the same time, Triton's eyes lit up and his laughter roared throughout the stone cave when he saw the couple up ahead.

"Hohoho! Adis, my boy, what took you so long?" He walked closer to them and ruffled the Demon King's head like what a father would do to his son.

And when he looked at Haru, he was utterly dumbfounded. "Oh, blimey! Mischievous brat, what happened to you? You look fat, like you just swallowed a whole melon."

Haru let out a cute squeak as she stiffened while c.a.r.e.s.sing her stomach. Her eyes soon watered when his remark finally hit her. "Old man, d-did you just call me... fat?"

Camus immediately slapped the back of Triton's head and went to c.a.r.e.s.s her cheek to appease her. "Good child, how are you feeling, lately? Don't mind that old fool. You actually lose weight because of the recent happenings. In grandfather's eyes, you are the most beautiful, and my great-grandchild will definitely be perfect."

"Eh?! What do you mean? The brat is pregnant?!" Triton's eyes widened as he exclaimed loudly in astonishment.

"Yes, General, my wife is on her 3rd month now," Adis replied and looked at his wife with eyes filled with devotion and contentment.

Triton unceremoniously pushed Camus to the side and showered Haru with flattery while gently patting her head. "Ah, please forgive this stupid old man. I didn't mean it that way. That's right, you are not fat. I think you are too skinny for a pregnant woman."

Then, he crouched down to face her baby bump and slowly stroked it. "Hey, Camus, did you hear that? I'm going to be a grandfather. Damn, I can't believe I'm going to be a grandfather!" His voice croaked at the end of his statement as he felt the lump that suddenly formed in his throat. He blinked back multiple times to stopped his tears from pouring down. "Ah, this is the best welcome gift ever."

Haru completely forgot the unwanted remark earlier and chuckled at the merman's exaggerated reaction. "Old man, meet our little devil. This brave warrior always listens to his father and never gave me any problem."

Triton seemed to be even prouder after hearing her statement. "Of course, my grandchild will definitely be a great fighter just like me. Hahaha!"

Camus frowned and gave his friend another whacking. "Are you cursing my little devil? To be like you is clearly not a blessing, you dimwit!"

The jovial general quickly stood up and faced his grumpy old friend. "You cranky bastard, are you picking a fight with me? What's wrong if my grandchild will grow up like me, huh?"

Adis and Haru looked at each other and shook their heads at the two elders' banterings.

However, she suddenly froze when Fenghua made a comment.

"Hm? My Queen, why is your stomach look bigger than normal in this early stage? Did Frost mention if you are having twins?"
