Queen Of Adis

"Lady Lilith, this came in early from your spy." A *sirin flew and landed on a huge tree branch and offered its foot to the enchanting beauty below.

The maiden called Lilith stood on her tippy toes as she reached for the letter that was tied around the sirin's foot and gracefully opened it. At first, her face was void with any emotion while reading the report. Then, her eyes suddenly flared up and her hand unconsciously crumpled the paper with great animosity.

"That unsophisticated bitch!" she seethed through gritted teeth while black flames mercilessly engulfed the letter in her hands.

"It seems that human is really challenging your patience, my lady." The sirin prodded her master's anger even further. "Every citizen is already singing her name with stupid praises; however, when the pope anointed her as the goddess of spring three months ago, the church suddenly became her ally. Afterward, the nobles and royal court officials were eager to lick her shoes when they found out that she was the initiator of the laws that were implemented throughout the three realms."

The tactless servant clicked its tongue in disapproval as it continued, "Tsk! As if her meddlings weren't enough, she now wants to visit some provinces in Umbra. What for? The dark realm is yours, my lady. Stake your claim, lady Lilith. Don't let that barbaric human take what's rightfully yours."

"Shut up, Maya!" Lilith snarled at her noisy servant in exasperation while her lemon-colored demon eyes darkened. "Stop your yapping, you're not a parrot. I don't need you to state the obvious as though I'm not aware of it."

Maya trembled in fear and instantly bowed to ask for mercy. "Please forgive my impertinence, your grace. This servant is just on the edge recently because of that bitch. No one is deserving to be the Queen of Umbra but you."

Lilith Montcroix was the only daughter of the grand duke of Umbra. She was well-known in all corners of the realm for her beauty and grace, and her cruel seduction as s.u.c.c.u.b.u.s. Her clan was one of the most influential demons in Umbra and her ancestors used to be the monarch of the dark realm before the Delacroixs monopolize all the power and the world to themselves.

Her father made a deal with the previous King that she would marry King Adis in exchange for their allegiance, hence, at such a young age, she was trained to act and speak like a true queen and was pampered with all kinds of luxuries. However, when King Adis took over the throne, he flat-out rejected the marriage proposal right in the middle of an evening banquet.

She had adored the Demon King since she was young and had hoped to be his consort in the future. But, she was there when the King humiliated her father. On that same night, she had experienced her first-ever heartbreak.

"It was an agreement between you and the late King." The Demon King indifferently started as he looked down at Duke Montcroix from his high seat. "It held no meaning to me nor to the way I will rule this world. If you have any complaints, go and send yourself and your daughter to follow my father in the afterlife. This ruthless King will be most happy to help you accomplish that."

Lilith inhaled sharply when she vividly remembered his cruel words that night. She blinked back her tears as she was awakened from her daze.

Subsequently, she glanced over her shoulder when she heard incoming footsteps.

Then, in came a tall man with a muscular build and perfectly symmetrical face as if he was well-defined by a sculptor. He had the same bearing and aura of the Demon King, and the way his sharp eyes glinted dangerously never failed to send delicious shivers to both female and male species, leaving trails of broken hearts in his wake.

"I heard the servants were burning a new pair of bodies. `Guess you had your fill last night, huh?" The newly arrived man spoke in fluent sarcasm as he entered Lilith's personal garden uninvited and nonchalantly sat on the chair despite her piercing glare.

"It's none of your business, Azrael. Why are you here?" Lilith snapped out at her half brother. "A whore's son doesn't have the right to even step a foot to my property."

The Grand Duke of Umbra was an *incubus and had countless concubines and mistresses. Despite the unrestrained libido of the said noble, he only had two offsprings and Azrael was the product he had for having an affair with a lowly maid. Therefore the disdain in the s.u.c.c.u.b.u.s' treatment.

The two siblings never had a good relationship since they were kids. The pampered lady had already been brainwashed by her lunatic of a mother to abhor her little brother's existence while Azrael had grown sick and tired of begging for anyone's attention and love.

Azrael just shrugged his shoulders at his sister's biting remark. "I just came to check on you. News of the future Queen's visit is all over the place and I know your crazy mind is planning something again. Well, not that I care, but just a piece of advice..." he trailed off and stood up, boring his cold gaze to hers.

"You can f.u.c.k numerous men and still declare your delusional love to King Adis for all I care. But please be sure not to get the entire clan to be annihilated by the Demon King. If that happens, I will gladly drag you to him and cut your beautiful head off... dear sister." And then he was gone, just as quickly as he came.

As the blonde s.u.c.c.u.b.u.s flipped the table in rage, two souls were silently observing on the side. *Adis slowly turned his attention to his wife who was now watching the fading presence of Azrael. Her face refused to show any emotion, yet her watery eyes betrayed her composure.

*Haru tried to skip through time to go to Pier's location, but they found themselves standing in the middle of Lilith's garden instead. When he saw Azrael came into the picture, he reckoned that their journey also meant for her to come to terms with her grief.
