Queen Of Adis

Chapter 111 - Catfight

"How barbaric!" Lilith's eyes grew wide as she gasped in shock. She placed a hand on top of her well-endowed b.r.e.a.s.ts and dramatically exclaimed, "I knew the likes of you are not suited to the upper class. You will only bring shame to His Majesty. More importantly, you will bring disaster upon us all!"

Haru rolled her eyes and clicked her tongue. "Geez, you sound like a villain mother-in-law in a boring drama." She shrugged her shoulders to emphasize her nonchalance on the matter about snobby aristocrats. "Propriety be damned! Etiquette is never my cup of tea, sweetheart. I'd rather be bold and free than put up with the society's pretenses."

The blondie narrowed her eyes and seemed to be more irked by her composed attitude. "Surely an unsophisticated, power-hungry commoner like you will never understand. I have loved King Adis longer than you and the other s.l.u.ts in the realms do. I trained for so long and so hard just to be a perfect fit for him only to be threatened by an insignificant bitch. I refuse to be defeated." She gritted her words through her clenched teeth.

Haru shook her head as she was starting to feel bored. "You claim that you love Adis for so long, and yet you didn't even know that he has a s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e nose. Your strong perfume is already killing me to high heavens."

When the s.u.c.c.u.b.u.s opened her mouth to retort, she beat her to it.

"It's quite entertaining that you put too much effort into elevating your worth when I have passed many laws and save countless lives more than the times you wasted for buying your expensive shoes and clothes. At this point, which do you think the people and the King will prefer? A useless fool like you who knows nothing but to spend and glamour, or an innocent maiden with brains like me?"

"Innocent my ass!" Lilith spat out. "My clan is one of the influential demons in Umbra and my father's allegiance is important to the King. Moreover, I am a s.u.c.c.u.b.u.s. My kind exist to p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e men and make their deepest, darkest d.e.s.i.r.e into reality. I am confident that I can make His Majesty satisfied. Between you and me, I am the best match for him. So what are you waiting for?" She c.o.c.ked her head sideways, mocking her in every possible way. "Just run while you still can. You are not needed here!"

The s.u.c.c.u.b.u.s' nails suddenly became long and lethal. When a black petal of rose accidentally touched it, it was instantly cut into two before it disintegrated. She licked one of her sharp nails while her eyes slowly fluttered at her.

Afterward, she raised her claws toward the assassins, but before she could complete her silent order, she heard Drako's warning.

"Your Grace, this is blasphemy!" Drako started in a dangerously calm voice while his eyes were on high alert of the assassins' movements. "An attack to Lady Haru is an attack against the King and the pope. Are you saying that the Montcroix household will enter a battle against the two most powerful leaders of our world?"

Lilith was already blinded by hatred to even see reason. Without heeding the royal aide's warning, she flicked her wrist to motion for an all-out attack. When the assassins hollered and dashed, all hell finally broke loose.

The three royal servants surrounded Haru and created multiple layers of protective barriers while the two dragon-horses split and positioned at each side of the barrier, breathing out fire towards the incoming pawns.

Lilith scoffed upon seeing their puny battle array. "How lame and weak. You are a worthless candidate as Queen. Don't try acting like a damsel in distress on me now." She materialized her weapon, a poisonous stingray tail whip, and cracked it on the ground. "Come at me, human!"

"How naive, for someone who claimed to be powerful." Haru unhurriedly fished out her leather gloves, cracked her knuckles and brazenly stretched out her arms. "Once the Queen moves, it's checkmate for you."

When she suddenly knelt down, the ground beneath them shook as her blessed palm touched it. Enemy's from different angles became alarmed and froze. Then, stems with huge thorns burst from the soil and swept a huge amount of unguarded enemies.

Blood spurted when the thorns pierced mercilessly on the assassins' bodies, carving the corpses with gaping holes all over.

Towering walls made of sturdy roots came next and surrounded them, crushing the remaining moving enemies in its way into a pulp. In one violent move, the Queen-to-be shed blood without batting an eyelash.

Her three servants moved out to quickly annihilate some assassins who were able to climb the walls, leaving Haru with Lilith alone. However, it was something she had been waiting for.

Time to let off some steam!

"Let me get one thing straight here." Haru did a back fist punch when an assassin approached her from behind while her eyes were still fixed on Lilith. "My King doesn't need your clan, much less, you. I am the spring goddess. I have the power to bring prosperity to the land. And with my brilliant mind, I swear I will be Adis' wife. His one and only Queen."

Then with lightning speed, she warped right in front of the s.u.c.c.u.b.u.s, catching the whip she threw at her and leaned closer to her face. "Between you and me, I hold more power. So what are you waiting for? KNEEL BEFORE ME!"

And with that declaration, she threw a destructive punch towards her solar plexus, making the demoness dropped her whip and bowled over on the ground.

"Things would have been easier for you if you paid your respect to me the conventional way. I accept your feelings, nevertheless." She remarked in a voice laced with thick sarcasm.

"My Lady, the Grim Reapers have arrived," Drako informed her while watching the shadows of the King's familiar drifting in the sky. He walked towards her and added, "Since Lady Montcroix came without any notice and made her move on you, as the goddess of spring, you have the right to punish her. Whatever you decide, the Reapers will clean up after you."

Haru immediately understood what he was insinuating. Her eyes glinted with ruthlessness as she stood up straight and spoke like a true queen.

"This magnanimous goddess will be lenient this one time and spare your life. But as a fellow woman, let me give you a piece of advice. Don't chase a man who does not love you. Don't destroy a relationship in exchange for power. And most importantly, have more respect for yourself. That way, you'll be happier."
