Queen Of Adis
Chapter 118 - Follow the light
Meanwhile, a woman was comfortably lying on a huge couch while sleeping soundly. When she changed her position, the thick blanket over her body slipped off, exposing the countless love marks around her neck and shoulders.
When the cold wind kissed her n.a.k.e.d body, she shivered and her lips unconsciously called out for her devil, waiting for his hug to shield her body from the unwanted chill. But when she didn't feel his strong arms, her eyebrows instantly creased and her lashes fluttered as she blinked her eyes open.
She stared at the ceiling in a daze for a brief moment before she pulled herself to sit up, causing the blanket to completely fall onto the floor.
As she looked down at her body, a silly smile unknowingly tugged her lips upon seeing the red and blue marks she scored; painted by none other than the devil himself.
Just like her past self, *Haru got eaten alive by her evil, perverted husband. She knew that watching a live show would turn out like this, but if truth be told, she was also hungry for his attention.
They didn't have time to make love when she came back from her sleep due to their much-needed preparations and poor body condition, so it was reasonable to say that she really missed her dose of Adis.
Speaking of that big meanie, she looked around the room but he was nowhere to be seen. That's where she noticed that the past Adis was also missing.
She stood up and quickly put a fresh set of clothes from her space ring, thanking *Adis in her mind for cleaning her body while she was deep in her sleep.
*Haru was about to walk towards the adjoining room where she could hear faint noises, but she stopped in her tracks when she saw a glimpse of two golden orbs, akin to a *will-o'-wisp, glowed outside of the window. Her feet reflexively changed its course and went to the patio.
Heedless to the cold wind that welcomed her as soon as she stepped out of the patio, she squinted her eyes to pry whether what she was seeing at a distance was real or hallucination.
The golden fire around the wisps glowed even brighter amidst the thick fog and the dark backdrop of the night. It was as though they were calling her to follow them. She couldn't explain why, but at that moment, she felt that something was gripping her heart and she didn't want to lose sight of those wisps.
*Haru praised the gods that the villa was just a bungalow-style house so she didn't have to turn around and use the stairs. She crossed over the bal.u.s.ter, but she didn't miss the loud series of curses behind her.
Before she could peek over her shoulder, a huge shadow loomed in front of her and wrapped his arms around her small frame. His face was obviously not pleased by her escape act.
"What the hell, Haru? You know what I will feel if you leave without telling me, and yet you are still pulling this stunt?" *Adis bared his fangs and barked at her like a mad dog. "You even jumped? Did you forget that you are pregnant or are you just trying to pick a fight with me?"
"Ah, please don't be angry, Adis. I swear I didn't mean to worry you. I was just planning to see where those will-o'-wisps are going then I'll be back before long." She stood on her tippy toes and cleared the creased on his forehead. Then she coaxed him to calm down with her soothing voice while kissing his stubbled jaws. "I didn't jump off, love, because our patio is flat on the ground. Don't exaggerate, else you'll be a s.e.xy old man again."
"You really do have a retort to everything, huh?" He commented in a voice laced with sarcasm, but his nerves finally calmed down.
When he saw her crossed over the bal.u.s.ter, he thought that his heart would also leap out of his c.h.e.s.t. As long as her feet weren't touching the ground, it meant a freaking 'jump' for him and it's a forbidden act for his pregnant wife.
"Go back inside! It's freezing here and it's already late. You should be sleeping for gods' sake!" *Adis ordered like a true tyrant while wrapping his thick black cloak around her to protect her from the cold wind of the night.
"Don't wanna!" she stubbornly exclaimed. Before he could scold her again, she raised her arm and pointed at the wisps up ahead. "Look, love, the wisps are still there and waiting patiently for us to follow. Let's check it out a bit and I promise to go back to sleep afterward."
He glanced at the glowing golden fire at the distance and sighed helplessly. He glared at her and suddenly bit her nose.
"Kyaa!" *Haru squeaked from the attack and held her nose with an aggrieved face.
"Why can't you just behave for even a second, eh?" he complained as he took her hand and started to drag her towards the will-o'-wisps.
"This lovesick king will have a field day if you will stay still and stay out of trouble for just ONE. WHOLE. DAY," he grunted while walking, making sure to put emphasis on the last three words.
She giggled and just hugged his right arm to pacify him. "I honestly don't know why, but I feel that the two golden orbs won't put me in danger. If anything, I felt comfortable and warm just by looking at them and before I knew it, my feet are already walking towards them. But now that you're here, I feel more safe. Thank you for always understanding me, Adis."
He shook his head as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer to him. He rained kisses on top of her head as they continue following their glowing guide.
After a few more minutes of walking, they stopped in front of a small cave. The wisps drifted around them as if whispering to check the inside.
*Haru's eyes widened and her mouth gaped open when realization finally sank in. "Adis, they are really guiding us? They can see us? B-but how? Aren't they supposed to be beings of the past?"
"I don't know either, Haru," he responded while his eyes were fixed on the golden orbs. He lifted a hand and silently invited them to rest on his palm. When they obediently followed him, his eyes softened and his lips formed into a tender smile. He whispered in a daze, "But you are right. They are warm."
However, his queen was no longer paying attention to him. When he didn't receive any reaction from her, he gently placed the spirit orbs on his shoulders and looked back at her.
"Haru, what's wrong, love?"
"Oh, my gods! A-Adis, look," she nervously whispered. She stood frozen while her eyes were fixed at the cave entrance.
*Adis followed her line of sight and looked up. He squinted his eyes to make out the small, almost faded imprint in front. Then, he clenched his teeth and he immediately gripped her hand.
There, at the top portion of the cave entrance, a mark was drawn on the stone. The disgustingly familiar ritual circle that they were earnestly searching for.
When the cold wind kissed her n.a.k.e.d body, she shivered and her lips unconsciously called out for her devil, waiting for his hug to shield her body from the unwanted chill.
