Queen Of Adis
Chapter 136 - Snatch those orbs
A scrawny, almost hunchback man wearing a tattered cloak was quietly standing at the corner while watching two unrestrained souls being entangled in a dance as old as time.
He had witnessed how these two simultaneously did the most horrendous atrocities in the future, but he didn't expect to be subjected to this kind of predicament.
It was a funny coincidence that the banner outside perfectly described the ghost inside; a seer from the future. But if truth be told, he just stumbled this cursed tent in hope for a few minutes of rest and heal his wounds made by Elior's wretched cat.
One would grimace in horror at the long ragged gashes of torn skin and flesh that disfigured the left side of his face, from the top of his eyebrows to his jawline. Bones could be seen while blood welled up from within the deep wounds and trickled to his throat and c.h.e.s.t. His left eye was beyond salvation while black veins surrounded his right eye like an intricate decoration and bloody pus were seeping out from his eyelid.
F.u.c.k, he only wanted some peace and quiet from all his pain! And yet, his solitary was disturbed by these two horny bastards and left him stupified in the corner.
Fortunately, he sent his two rabid *Bandersnatch to go after Elior as it seemed that it may take a while for him to get out of this freaking mess. If his pets ended up tearing the pope's puny body into pieces, then it's mission accomplished for him. Well, half of it at least, since he still had to take care of the spring goddess.
The scrawny demon watched intently as the interesting show was about to reach its climax. He thought that for a once-famous angel, this Erebos had truly fallen so low and corrupted to even take over someone else's body and fool another soul without any remorse in exchange for his own sick vengeance. Too bad for these two men, redemption was nowhere in sight. They would continuously sink in the abyss of darkness as long as Erebos is alive.
"Argh!" The fallen angel g.r.o.a.n.e.d loudly in raw delight as he filled Alfred's inside with his sinful fluid. "Are you having fun watching us, lowly demon?"
The scrawny peeping tom jolted in surprise, especially when he saw Erebos' eyeballs rolled to glare at him. He looked over his shoulders to check if there was another intruder behind him but he remembered that he was leaning on the wall.
He gulped when Erebos' gaze became suffocating. He was now sure that it was him he was looking at. The goddamn man could f.u.c.k.i.n.g see his ghost self and none from his stupid team told him about it! To to be more precise, none of them knew about this fallen angel's background, even up to this day.
Well, he didn't give a damn of his background. He simply followed him in exchange for riches and the power of the seer.
"How can you see me? Are you also a seer?" he asked to be enlightened.
Erebos pushed the already sleeping Alfred away as he wiped his d.i.c.k clean using a random fabric that was scattered on the ground. "I see you have a golden eye, but there's no way the gods will bless a wicked demon like you. You must have stolen it from another desperate soul. What is your name, thief?"
"You seem to know much. Just as expected from a fallen angel like you," he replied sarcastically. "My name's Malak from the demon clan of the Blood Hound."
"You are not from this period, I see. Reminds me of the ghosts I saw three days ago," Erebos ignored the mockery and commented. "You may have seen the future, but I am your senior when it comes to the gift you have stolen."
"I don't have plan to rain on your parade. Heck, I don't even want to be seen by anyone from here. I am just peacefully hunting my prey so I can be done with it. Go and continue your business, too. Please excuse me," he declared in one breath and turned around to leave the tent.
However, before he could walk any further, his body literally froze and he was left defenseless by the man's spell.
"Don't be such in a hurry. Can't you see my companion is sleeping? I'm bored, so stay for a chat. If only you are not as ugly as shit, not to mention your transparent form, I would like to have another round of f.u.c.k. But right now, I am more curious about this task of yours. It seemed a big deal given that you and other ghosts are here to invade our privacy." Erebos spoke in a lazy tone while zipping his fly, but his eyes pierced through him like a predator waiting for his prey to make a wrong move.
"Look, I am just an ordinary... messenger, who happened to accept dirty work on the side. No need to be so vigilant with me. Your future self tasked me to kill all the remaining seers, that's why I already started with the pope, then I will take care of the spring maiden next."
Erebos scowled at the revelation. "That doesn't sound right. I knew you were lying the moment you opened that nasty mouth of yours. I will never ask you to kill the spring maiden. She is mine. You cannot touch her. I have a plan for her."
"If we don't eliminate the seers now, they will hinder our plans in the future," Malak reasoned out.
"If you must kill the other seer, do it. The maiden is MINE!" he seethed as his eyes darkened.
"Fine, do whatever you want! Now, let me go. I'm running out of time," the scrawny demon conceded. He never wished to be the receiver of the fallen angel's wrath.
Erebos stared at the demon's disfigured face and the disgusting black mess around his right eye. "Ah, the eye you stole is starting to rot. Since the amber orb belonged to a human, it will naturally rot away once expose to too much dark mana. And that hurt like a bitch."
He scoffed as he added, "So killing the seers is not about helping my future cause, but for your own selfish gain. You wish to gouge their eyes and replace yours with new ones. The more amber orbs you can get, the longer you can use the vision. Tsk, tsk, greed will take you nowhere, and lying to me will only sink you to hell."
Malak threw some series of expletives and snarled, "Alright, I lied! The future you and Alfred ordered me to change history so you will end up with the spring maiden. But since I need new eyes, I just decided to kill the seers and snatch their f.u.c.k.i.n.g amber orbs. Happy? Now, let me go!"
"So you have already encountered a god, huh?" Erebos commented and ignored his rantings. When he saw Malak's questioning look, he continued. "A ghost from another dimension can only touch things that are blessed by the sacred church. And they can only be hurt by either a ghost of the same kind or by the gods. I heard that the pope is guarded by a god in disguise. Judging by that nasty wounds, I assume that you just got served by a god," he let out a satirical laugh, feeling schadenfreude at someone else's pain.
Malak wiggled his limbs when he could finally move again. "Tsk! No need to state the obvious."
"Since you wish to target the pope and the spring maiden, that means you are ready to face the wrath of the most powerful demons in Trium Regum, the Delacroix clan?"
"Of course not! I'm not that stupid. That's why I'm keeping a low profile until now."
"Why don't I give you a hand, instead. An intimate friend of mine would gladly help you if it means inflicting agony to the Delacroixs."
Malak's eyes lit up in delight. He had an idea who he was talking about. He proactively provided the details for a sweet rendezvous. "Right outside this city canals is a maze-like sewer that leads to the late king and queen's sanctuary in Atlantis. The sanctuary is sealed by an ancient spell and only those that are blessed by the gods and trusted beings of the royal family can enter it."
"So the pope must be apprehended before he reached the place," Erebos uttered the conclusion of his plan. "Well, my bitch prefers the darkness, but not the retched smell of sewers. You will find her at the end of the tunnel, waiting for the rat that you are desperately chasing."
"Good," he nodded and started to take his leave. As he parted the canopy, he stopped in his tracks and glanced at the half-n.a.k.e.d fallen angel for one last time. "I heard that love is blind. If I hand the spring maiden over to you, will you give me her eyes in return? And then make a great example of this beautiful phrase."
Erebos' lips curved into an evil smile while his eyes glinted in agreement. "I don't need her eyes. I just need her soul. Her delectable body will just be the icing on the cake."
"Achoo!"
Both men snapped their heads to the side when they heard a faint, child-like sneeze.
"Who goes there?!"
