Rebirth of Abium

136 Chapter 136: Bloodbath City

Abium began to search for a suitable short sword in the exchange counter.

But he couldn't find any finely crafted short sword that was suitable for him and left regretfully. Although he had a high tier long sword made of Dark silver, Abium knew that sword wouldn't withstand the master level sword aura. He thought he would get a good sword forged by some master blacksmith, but he was wrong.

'I have to get my hands on the legendary Dark blade quickly. As for that Death Cane, which that necromancer acquired in the past, I will think about it later. A few months ago, I actually thought of sending the information about the Death Cane to the Light Church, but now I changed my mind. I can see everyone is acting for their own gain. Hmm, if I'm not wrong, that artifact also has an ability to break shackles.' Abium smiled brightly as he thought of that Death Cane and soon frowned.

Because he remembered clearly that more than three big factions went to the Taiga sloth woods in the past, and only a few people managed to come out alive. After that, the Light Church announced that they had found few legendary artifacts and caused a huge commotion among the masses. Abium remembered most of those artifacts' names. Among those artifacts, there was a sword named Dark Blade that caught every warrior's attention at that time.

'It is a legendary weapon forged by a Legendary Blacksmith.' Abium's eyes flickered. After that expedition, the other two forces that went on that expedition remain silent and never revealed any information. But Abium remembered the reason for the Light Church's action at that time. The reason that they showed their wealth to the public was to distract everyone's attention from the death of the Light Church Bishop.

'I heard that a single mysterious necromancer was the reason for that Bishop's death.' Abium thought.

Abium heard that the mysterious necromancer was the one who discovered the Death Cane and even killed the Bishop of the Light Church using that artifact at the entrance of Silverland City.

As he was thinking, Abium suddenly halted his thoughts as he remembered Count Henricus also went on that expedition and rose to power after that. Although he claimed that he got a legendary artifact related to knowledge near to his territory, Abium always found it skeptical. Because he knew that guy was just an apprentice mage at that time, and his territory was filled with some mountains and agricultural lands.

'Maybe did he found knowledge related artifact in that Taiga sloth woods?' Abium got puzzled. He knew that those three factions must have hidden all those information about the Taiga sloth woods and became more curious.

'It must be an intellectual artifact or a divine fragment!' Abium made a guess bold guess.

'Well, it seems I have to participate in that expedition and get my hands on that Dark Blade and that knowledge artifact. At least, I need to get that knowledge artifact or divine fragment to increase my spirit quickly.' Abium muttered to himself.

Following that, he quickly walked out of that white tower and moved towards the entrance. Soon, he saw that Grold looked at him with a creepy smile on his face while startling the mages and apprentice mages nearby and nodded its head.

Instantly, Abium knew it was the original Grold, so he quickly walked near to the goblin.

''Puny elf, I brought that divine spell trinket for you. Give me that elemental crystal.'' Grold spoke with an arrogant tone while revealing a golden-colored small crystal-like stone on its green palm.

Abium carefully took that trinket from its hand but didn't give that fire elemental crystal. Instead, he asked jokingly.

''Mr. Mighty Grold, do you have some extra trinkets? I will pay you with the same sized elemental crystals.''

The next instant, Grold's eyes almost popped out, and looked at him up and down suspiciously. Although two more elemental crystals tempted it, it immediately considered its own safety and unwillingly shook its head. It had two more divine spell trinkets, but it simply shook its head. It knew Watcher would only give another three spell trinkets after six months. Till then, it had to adjust with these two trinkets.

Meanwhile, Abium nodded at Grold and silently threw another Abyssal crystal and one thumb-sized fire elemental crystal to that goblin. The next instant, his body disappeared from there.

...

Commoners' Borough, Northern tower, around 10.30 P.M.

Abium quickly walked out of the tower and took a luxury carriage while informing the coachman to move towards the northern gate. He planned to meet Duke Adhemar and was going to borrow something from him. The luxury carriage specially arranged for mages reached the northern gate, and Abium quickly walked out of it. After he paid the right amount to the carriage driver, he moved towards the small metal gate, attached near the large one.

Two guards stood nervously while glancing at him from time to time and quickly lowered their heads as they saw his black robe.

They knew what that robe represent and quickly opened that small metal gate without even asking for his identity proof. Abium gave a warm smile towards both of them and stepped out of that metal gate hurriedly. Then next instant, those two guards and the coachman who was still peeking at his direction froze in shock.

''Oh Lord Light! He is an angel!'' One of the guards cried out in shock! Because what appeared in front of them was not a human but a red angel-like figure. Two crimson wings suddenly appeared on Abium's back, giving a scorching feeling to the surroundings. Everyone who stood near the northern gate saw a mysterious black-robed mage stood there at the entrance like an angel and became stunned.

Although soldiers had seen mages using flying spell several times, it was the first time they had seen a mage using crimson wings to fly. Before they could mutter another word, Abium flapped his both wings and shot towards the sky. That day, the whole city suddenly saw a bright red fire danced in the sky while circling the city and shot forth like a bullet towards the southern direction.

...

May 30, Bloodbath City, around 2.30 A.M.

Multiple warriors always stayed in Bloodbath City and were guarded the city against monsters and some wild beasts. There were even three fifth-tier warriors constantly staying in Duke's mansion due to the changes happening all over the kingdom.

Suddenly, the loud horn sounds echoed from all four directions while waking up everyone in the city. But what was more surprising was everyone who walked out of their house while carrying different kinds of weapons. Like the name indicates, this city was often attacked by monsters hordes from the Dark jungle frequently and became bathed in the blood several times. This city acted as a guardian city for many surrounding towns.

There was also rumor commonly spreading all over the kingdom that a dungeon was located at the deepest part of this Dark jungle. But no one knew the answer for sure. Well, no one really wants to explore deeply. Moreover, there was also a rumor about magic beasts residing in the depths of that Dark jungle. This famous jungle continued all the way towards the frozen mountain range and entered the other side of the Alastall woodlands.

''Look!'' A strong male adventurer shouted while pointing his finger at the dark sky. Soon, everyone turned their heads upward and widened their eyes in shock. There, they saw two small crimson wings moving towards their direction at a fast speed.

''What the hell is that? A magic beast?'' Duke Adhemer also woke up by the sudden horn sounds in the Duke's mansion and watched those two strange wings with a dazed expression on his face. He now stood on the balcony while three fifth-tier warriors gripped their swords while staring at those red wings with an anxious look on their faces. Duke Adhemer was a middle-aged man who was around 50 years old. He had short black hair, deep blue eyes, and an oval face.

''I don't think so, father. I think that is a mage.'' Suddenly, a pleasant female voice came from behind, startling everyone. Soon, a blonde-haired girl around 18 years old walked in with an elegant smile on her face. She had a pretty oval face, deep blue eyes, and blonde hair. She wore a white linen shirt and black skirt, which covered up to her toe.

''Josse! Are you sure?'' Duke Adhemer asked with a surprised tone.

''Yes, Father! Although I don't know which respected mage is visiting here at this time, I can tell this mage seems to be in a hurry.''Josse stopped for a second as she saw those three fifth-tier warriors gripping their sword tightly while glaring fiercely at the sky and continued while shaking her head.

''Dad, don't do anything reckless. First, tell them to lower their weapons, then we will go and welcome him.''

This time Adhemer got stunned by her polite tone towards the unknown mage arriving near the city.

''Why are you speaking with much respect? You are already a first-tier mage, so you don't-'' He abruptly stopped as he thought of the possibility and soon stuttered.

''Y-You mean, that mage is a second-tier mage?!'' He was deeply alarmed and gripped his strange black sword tighter.

Meanwhile, Josse started speaking seriously.

''I never heard of any first-tier mage using a fly spell like this. Moreover, this mage is flying from Royal city direction, so I don't think he has any ill intentions towards us.''

After a short ponder, Adhemer made up his mind while ordering those warriors and other guards to lower their weapons. Following that, he and Josse walked out of the mansion hurriedly and waited at the yard with an anxious expression on their face.

Meanwhile, Abium was already exhausted while flying and soon broke into a wide grin as he saw the well-fortified city. Without any hesitation, he flew towards the city while avoiding the metal arrows using his wing. He could also see countless people were walking out of their houses with weapons. He had already expected this outcome from this city people and quickly flew towards the large mansion while maintaining some height from the ground.

As he arrived at the mansion's yard, he saw two figures welcoming him with a nervous look on their face.

Abium flapped his both crimson wings to balance and slowly landed on the ground. Following that, he bent his waist a bit and bowed while he started speaking.

''Baron Abium greets your grace and greetings Young Miss, Josse.''

This time, both Duke Adhemer and his daughter Josse got stupefied. They almost forgot to respond to his greetings. After a short silence, Duke Adhemer regained his composure and greeted him.

''Greetings, Baron Abium. Welcome to Bloodbath city.''

Following that, Josse also bowed and asked with curiosity.

''Mr. Baron, is there any urgent news from Magic tower? Did teacher Cole summon me?'' Josse asked anxiously. She was beyond shocked by this newly titled Baron and became anxious about this mage's sudden appearance to their territory. First-tier mages would only make a personal visit to the kingdom's nobles' territory if something major happened at the royal family or the magic tower. She knew her father was colluding with Light Church and got nervous.

When Abium heard her words, he shook his head and went straight to the point.

''Today, I came here to borrow something from His Grace for a few days.''

This time Adhemer frowned a bit and asked cautiously.

''What do you want to borrow from this old man, Mr. Baron?'' Although he had heard a few words about this Baron, he still didn't consider him a real noble. He knew this Baron got this title through entering the magic academy, and from his point of view, this mage didn't achieve any merits to earn the noble title. Moreover, he heard this mage had a shady background, causing most of the high nobles to displease.

''I came here to borrow your sword, your grace.'' Abium didn't mind Adhemer's suspicious look and still replied politely.

As Adhemer heard Abium's words, he frowned a bit and shifted his gaze towards his family sword, which he had been using from childhood.

''What's so special about my sword? I didn't think it has an ability even to withstand a magic spell.'' Adhemer shakes his head and felt more confused at this newly titled Baron's request.

Hearing those words from the Duke, Abium shook his head and replied.

''No. This sword is forged by an unknown legendary Blacksmith and was given to your ancestor as a gift. As for why your grace doesn't know about its full ability, you are just an intermediate swordsman. So, you won't be able to use its full ability unless your grace reaches the realm of a master swordsman.'' Abium's word left everyone who stood on the yard to be stunned. Even Adhemer heard about this for the first time, which caused him to almost fall on the ground.

Well, in the past, Abium heard that Duke Adhemer discovered this sword's secret only at the end of the Chaos Era and used this sword to slay many demons, devils, and high-level monsters.

''Baron Abium, I'm surprised. Although I don't know if the information you gave me is true or false, I always believed this sword was not a normal sword. I have to apologize first to that legendary Blacksmith for using this blade to cut onions and vegetables.'' Adhemer said while caressing the black blade like a priceless treasure.

''You can find more information about this sword in the history section.'' Abium shifted his attention towards that beautiful blonde-haired lady as he said that and smiled. Meanwhile, Duke also calmed down and quickly gave his sword to Abium unwillingly.

''Thank you, your grace. If I'm not present in the magic tower, my friend will return this sword to you in a few days.'' Abium said while bowing his head and quickly added while giving him a black covered book. ''Improve your strength using this book, your grace. Our kingdom needs yours and your weapon's strength in the future.''

Hearing his words, Adhemer glanced at the book and soon noticed it was filled with many insights. He also saw an advanced sword technique method was written in it and became shocked. He stood there in a daze while skimming through all the information with a shocked expression on his face.

Before Adhemer could wake up from the shock, Abium quickly cast War Angel's wings on himself and soared up to the sky while carrying that black long sword in his waist.
