Rebirth of Abium

151 Chapter 151: Dark Dungeon.

9th June, Adventurer's guild entrance, Silverland City.

There were at least 200 peoples stood there with a solemn expression on their faces. They separated into three groups. One was Light Church members, which includes thirty Holy Knights, three priests, two High Priests, and Bishop Piers, who was in the lead. But what made everyone guard up more was that they saw Bishop Pier's eyes were staring at everyone like a poisonous snake.

He first scanned the Royal family group and soon shifted his attention to the Red Python group. Meanwhile, Abium, Fennelis, and Umi stood among the royal family group and stayed low-key. Because of the low tier disguise artifacts, Fennelis and Umi looked like normal humans and didn't attract any attention.

Abium, in black-haired human appearance, glanced at the Light Bishop and then let out a relieved sigh. He wore a grey robe instead of a black robe and looked more like an apprentice mage. If he wore a black robe, he knew someone might find out about his real identity. There were only less than fifty first-tier mages in the academy, so it would be easy for other mages to get suspicious of his identity. But if he uses an apprentice robe, then there would be no problem. Abium knew there were at least 200 apprentice mages living in the academy, and some were already stuck in that realm for decades.

Abium silently counted the black-robed mages who were accompanying royal family members and frowned.

'Something feels off about those five black-robed mages. Hmm, they are also wearing a unique batch, which means all of them must be royal mages of Keris kingdom. Then what about Academic mages?' Abium creased his brows and soon shifted his gaze towards the twenty gray-robed mages who stood beside him and got surprised. In those gray robes, Abium could tell that there were another four first-tier mages hidden in that group using some type of strange artifacts to hide their spirit power.

After that, Abium started searching for that Count Henricus and soon identified a fat guy with blonde hair in the gray-robed crowd. He had a chubby round face, emerald eyes, and thick eyebrows. He kept his eyes wandered like a thief and glancing at everyone cautiously. Abium smiled as he saw that guy and shifted his eyes towards the mysterious third group. Without even scanning, his eyes landed on a three-meter tall hooded guy and smiled brightly.

'He really did come to this expedition.' Abium sensed a dense amount of abyss energy around that figure and knew it was that demon Susur. Moreover, he saw another ten powerful figures among that group and became shocked inside.

'They are powerful!'

This third group was the one that attracted everyone's' attention. It comprised mostly of mysterious peoples who were showing the strength of apprentice mages and official mages.

'What are those two doing in that group?' Abium frowned deeply as he locked his eyes on the red-haired women Kate and brown-haired Cedric.

'They must have planned to participate in this expenditure after finding out it is an expedition to a dungeon. Well, if they manage to walk out alive, then they would definitely grow powerful.' Abium praised their bravery. Following that, he also checked Rilos's presence in the Red python group and was not surprised.

Unknown to him, there were a total of another five hooded figures mingled in that Red Python group and was watching Abium's group's movement stealthily.

''Your Highness, I think he found out we are spying on him.'' Rizz moved near to Edith and whispered to her ears. But Edith shook her head and replied.

''Nah, he is looking for someone else in this group. It seems he also has his own plans.''

Rizz got surprised a moment and nodded. After that, both didn't speak a word and waited along with others.

After a few minutes, the 200 member group started to move under three leaders' command. Everyone walked out of that Silverland City through the Northern gate and moved towards the Taiga sloth woods, located at the Keris Kingdom's northern corner. On July 11th, early morning, the group finally entered the Taiga sloth woods. During normal time, there would be only some low-level monsters roaming in the woods.

But this time, the group even got attacked by a pack of Orcs, which made everyone guard up even more. The first casualty occurred at noon by a goblin's sneak attack. As the group progressed into the depths of the Taiga sloth woods, casualties started to rise. Before they could even reach the dungeon entrance, they were more than fifty casualties, causing everyone to turn grim. Although most of the casualties were from low-level adventurers, it still caused a huge shock to everyone.

On July 13th evening, the group finally managed to see a tall black tower rose to the sky. It was almost 500 meters tall and gave off a chill atmosphere to the surroundings. Multiple caverns have appeared near the tall tower, and monsters like goblins, kobolds, orcs walked out from time to time. Abium was not surprised as he had seen these types of things in the past.

'These monsters' origin is always a mystery. Azolla, do you know where these monsters are coming from?' Abium asked Azolla with full of curiosity.

'Dungeons have both dangers and benefits, kid. Many goblins, Orcs, Kobolds, and Minotaurs' presence in our plane is due to a War that happened even before the Ancient war. That was the first time our Easica world got invaded by Demons from the four layers of Abyss, causing massive destructions all over the world.'

'The demon army under four demon lords marched into our world through multiple portals, which caused all races to unite together to resist those demons. Although our people managed to defeat those demons, the four demon lords used some forbidden divine spell to let multiple portals to stay stable permanently in many parts of our world before their death. After that, different types of chaos creatures entered into our land and caused multiple destructions everywhere.'

'Even many Ancient Gods, Dragons, High Elves, and High human mages from the primordial times battled against other demons and perished in this land. When seeing that great destruction, our world's Will Easica couldn't stay silent and started creating dungeons using fallen Ancient gods' divine kingdoms to stop the Abyss' invasion. As for these monsters, I heard from arcane researchers that they are continuously spawning inside the dungeon's core rooms. Some say that she did this to strengthen the mortals of our plane.' Azolla replied casually.

Meanwhile, Abium's eyes widened as he nodded his head in understanding and slowly shifted his eyes towards the tower shrouded by some transparent dark barrier like a cover.

'I knew the one who created these dungeons was a mythical existence, but I didn't expect that our World's Will was the one who created those dungeons.' Abium thought to himself and turned his head to see others' reactions.

Except for a few members, everyone got puzzled when looking at that tall tower. They had never heard of any tower that appeared out of nowhere before and soon started to make guesses independently. As everyone was racking their brains, Kate suddenly raised her voice and spoke in a proud tone.

''It's a dungeon, morons.'' Her words surprised everyone. Then the next instant, everyone's' faces grew deadly pale. How could they forget that word which caused countless nightmares in their childhood days? There were many legends about these dungeons, but most were about those mythical monsters inside those dungeons. Moreover, entering the dungeon was not an easy matter.

Every dungeon had some restrictions. Take the Volcanic Abyssal dungeon; for example, if someone wants to enter that dungeon, they had to consume the Tear of Phoenix; otherwise, they wouldn't take a step inside that dungeon even if they were demigods.

As for what restrictions this dungeon has, even Abium didn't know about it. There was also another risk when exploring dungeons. They had to find the core room and get the dungeon guardian's approval if they want to leave. Many people lost their way in the dungeons and became starved to death. Because of that, everyone got panicked inside.

After the adventurers calmed down a little, the group moved near the dungeon, and soon they saw a dark entrance that almost looks like some gate to the abyss. A five-meter tall void-like entrance stood at the summit of that dark tower while giving a dangerous aura to the surroundings.

They didn't recklessly jump into the dungeon; instead, the group began to build tents, and every team started to make preparations. Abium also invited Kate and Cedric into their group and waited for the three leaders to decide. The one who was commanding the Royal Family team was the owner of Silverland City owner Mage Sean so Abium didn't have any worry in his heart.

The next day, on June 14th morning, everyone stood at the Dungeon's entrance with a solemn expression on their faces and slowly, one by one, entered into that black void-like gate.

Abium and his team members also walked in with those members from the Royal Family group and soon disappeared.

As Abium opened his eyes, he saw himself standing in front of a dark rotten forest, which made him frown. The temperature was chilling, and there was a strange dim red light that appeared everywhere. First, he looked upwards and saw three red large red stars hung up in the sky. The next instant, he felt his eyes were burning and quickly lowered his head to see the surroundings.

Even in the dim red darkness, Abium's amber eyes saw everything around them clearly and instantly scanned the surroundings. The whole group members stood with puzzlement while checking those rotten trees which appeared everywhere. There was neither sunlight nor any pure air in the atmosphere, making Abium's frown to deepen. He quickly turned his gaze towards his side and breathed out a relieved sigh as he noticed everyone in his teammates were all right.

After that, he started to check those rotten black trees which stood in front of their group. He could see some strange black snails and black worms were crept out from those tree stems, and some were even looking at their direction with their single white eyes.

Suddenly, Abium felt some biting sensation on his hand and soon noticed a black-ringed worm around thumb-size attached to his right hand and was trying to enter his body!

Abium's eyes widened as he didn't sense this worm's presence and quickly picked it up cautiously. After that, he placed that worm carefully and started to look deeply at that worm. Soon, his expression turned ugly as he saw there were around 100 miniature eyes that appeared all over that black worm's upper body, and those eyes were blinking from time to time. Abium felt a creepy feeling as he stared at those eyes and got anxious.

He knew the unknown was always a scary thing. After analyzing that worm, he saw it began to shrink quickly and tried to escape from his grasp. Without any hesitation, Abium dropped that small worm on to the ground and smashed it without any hesitation using his leg instinctively. The next instant, Abium saw all those worms' eyes in the surrounding trees locked onto Abium's face and gave him goosebumps.

''Everyone, be careful of these worms. Don't let this thing touch your body.'' Abium warned solemnly but soon froze as he saw a Holy knight who stood five meters away from him suddenly unsheathed his silver long sword and directly thrust his sword at an adventurer's chest without any hesitation.

Abium instantly tensed up and watched Light church members with full of wariness. At the same time, everyone began to draw their swords and attacked each other. Only a few people from the Red Python organization and Light Church stood with a calm expression on their faces. Meanwhile, others were started fighting without even minding their leaders' shouting. Some even mercilessly killed their own comrades, causing a great panic everywhere.

Abium even saw Cedric stealthily unsheathed his dagger and was moving it stealthily towards Kate's throat. Abium wouldn't allow such a thing to happen in front of his eyes. Without any delay, he quickly appeared behind Cedric while grabbing his hand and knocked him unconscious. After that, he cautiously scanned the surroundings and then made up his mind.

''We are splitting up,'' Abium spoke solemnly while putting Cedric on his shoulder and then turned his head towards the Red Python group. After that, he stealthily took out Ubius's amulet from his spatial ring and cast the 'Night Mark' spell on Count Henricus. Then, he began to walk away from the group with his teammates and moved towards the rotten woods' depth.

Meanwhile, Fennelis, Kate, and Umi took out their swords and followed after Abium with vigilant eyes. Abium didn't dare to stay near inside that rotten woods and started searching for a way out of these woods. At the same time, Abium already asked Azolla to continuously monitor the other three and tell him if any other organisms contacted their bodies.

After an hour of roaming in those creepy rotten woods, they finally walked out of the woods, full of fear in their eyes. Even Abium lost his cool and continuously glanced at everyone, and finally, his eyes fell on Cedric, who was already placed on the ground. Cedric's face was full of sweats, and there were a few blisters appeared on his face. But what made Abium frown deeper was, he could feel most of his body organs were working normally.
