Rebirth of Abium

Everyone's' face went death pale.

At the same time, Azolla spoke seriously in Abium's mind,

'This is Chaos mark, and this mark acts like curse magic. When dying, most demons and devils use these types of spells to let their kin take revenge for them. I think this goblin placed this spell in this box to seek revenge on whoever gets the artifact hidden inside.' Hearing those words, Abium got startled. He didn't expect a single goblin would pull this much trouble to him.

'That means we will become the true nemesis of goblins from now on.' Abium muttered to himself while raising his eyebrows and quickly shook his head.

'It doesn't matter. Even if these goblins come at us in bulk, I can handle on my own.' Abium thought while glancing at others and then smiled,

'I don't think they will go on an adventure to any goblin planes.'

Letting out a heavy sigh, he looked inside the box and noticed a book was placed inside. But then he frowned as he saw multiple cards with different symbols were drawn on the book cover. Although he tried to inspect it using Azolla's scanning function, he couldn't scan it.

'A strange power is blocking my scan function.' Azolla informed in his mind. Abium narrowed his eyes for a moment and then gave the mysterious card book to Fennelis.

"Lady Fennelis, mark your spiritual imprint on this book."

Hearing Abium's words, everyone became surprised. Edith and Kate looked at Fennelis with envy. As for Cedric, he wore a bitter smile and shook his head helplessly as if he was arguing with the Dark God's consciousness inside his mind.

Meanwhile, Fennelis looked at her daughter, then at her husband for a moment, and imprinted her spiritual power in it. The next instant, a row of information appeared inside her mind.

A look of puzzlement surfaced on her face as she read the short information. The next instant, she opened the book and looked inside.

She saw a blank rectangular card was placed on the first page. She quickly flipped the next page and noticed another blank card attached to it. She thought for a moment and soon took one blank card from the book. After that, she glanced around everyone and then locked her eyes on Abium.

It was not a blank card!

The card appeared red and had crimson wings symbol painted on it.

A heartbeat later, Fennelis curled her lips upwards and smiled as she read the row of information that appeared in her mind.

'This is a priceless treasure!' Her eyes widened.

After placing the card inside, she closed the book and stored it inside her spatial ring.

After that, she turned her head towards Abium and thanked him.

"We are leaving this place." Waving his hand, Abium said calmly. Although he didn't find any clue about that mysterious book, he knew it was a real treasure.

He also gave the empty adamantite box, and the sheet to Fennelis and then went towards the exit. After a few minutes, the group safely walked out of the 'Temple of Dark God' and stopped at the entrance.

At the same time, Edith and Rizz were already begun to discuss how to get that 'Death Cane.' But there was a different thought that arose in Abium's mind. He silently walked a few meters away from the group and pondered how to eliminate Bishop Piers and Snake Demon Susur.

'It's time for the main show.' Abium smirked inside and quickly took out a communication ring from his spatial ring. Then, he connected to Rilos using the correct rune passcode. A few seconds later, a rough yet cold voice came from the other side,

"Greetings, Mr. Red Angel. I thought you would forget about our co-operation."

"Haha, of course, I wouldn't. I already found the location of the 'Death Cane.' It's in the Fifth layer of this dungeon. But it is guarded by a Beginner third-tier Nightmare Shadow magical beast. So, here is the plan." Abium stopped for a second and began to talk.

Both silently discussed for a few minutes, and finally, Abium's lips curled up to form into an evil smirk. After ending the call, he put the ring in his left hand instead of storing it and walked back to the group.

"Big brother, why are you acting mysteriously?" Umi straightened her fox ears and asked as she saw him walking back to the group. Others also gave him a questionable look, and their eyes were searching for answers.

Abium silently walked in front of Umi, bent down a bit, and asked a question instead of replying,

"Umi, what would happen if we fought head-on against a third-tier magical beast?"

Umi got puzzled a bit and replied proudly after some deliberation.

"We will kill it."

Hearing this, Abium shook his head and began to talk,

"No, Umi. We all will die within a few seconds. The first lesson- never look down on those magical beasts, even if they are first-tier beasts. Unlike monsters, these beasts have high intelligence and very rarely come out of their territory. This beginner third-tier Nightmare Shadow must have at least one third-tier bloodline spell and five second-tier bloodline spells. It can kill multiple normal second-tier mages without any difficulty. So the chance of defeating a third-tier magical beast using our strength is almost zero. Now, we have only two options." Abium paused for a moment and continued with a smile while looking meaningfully at Edith.

"The first option is giving up on the Death Cane. I know you guys want that artifact badly, but three other groups with big backgrounds are also looking for the same artifact. Bishop Piers must have already foreseen your plan using divination and might have already prepared a perfect trap. Once we walk into that trap blindly, he will kill us all using the perfect moment." Hearing Abium's words, Edith and Rizz became shocked, and soon Edith blurted out,

"You mean he already knows that we are still alive?"

"What? You thought you could fool his divination just by faking your deaths? Although Light God's servants lost some of their abilities due to seals, there are still many diviners out there. You are just dancing on his palm all along. I know Bishop Piers's character. He is a cunning bastard." Abium said while shaking his head.

'I also feel something was off about that Red python organization. That demon Susur is indeed a big problem.' Abium frowned deeply. As he was in deep thoughts, Umi turned her head and asked,

"What about the second option?" Her words made others wake up from the shock, and soon everyone turned their head towards Abium.

Abium's lips arched upward as he heard her question and spoke with a sly smile,

"We won't wait for him to make a perfect moment to trap us. We will take that moment and make it perfect. In the end, the brighter one will get that Death Cane while the losers will all die."

Hearing Abium's words, everyone's eyes lit up.

"But before we move to the fifth layer, I need to meet an acquaintance. Wait here for a few hours." Abium said those words and disappeared even before others could speak a word.

"What is he plotting? He seems to be not a trustworthy guy." Edith couldn't hold back her dissatisfaction and muttered out loud.

"I'm also feeling the same." Rizz also said with a confused face. He couldn't understand why his wife put more trust in the sneaky elf.

Noticing their displeased faces, Fennelis coldly snorted.

"He saved both of our lives multiple times. I agree that kid is indeed a liar and sometimes hides much information from us. But what about you guys? Are you guys all saints who never said any lies? Rizz, don't think I don't know anything about your secret affair with Lux. As for your Highness, aren't you and your family hiding one important piece of information about the Moon Goddess's crown to all of us?" Fennelis said with a glare. Hearing her words, Rizz got shocked and almost began to step back in panic.

'How did she find out about Lux?' He began to sweat all over. He couldn't be able to figure out the truth!

Meanwhile, Edith's face went deadly pale. Her whole body trembled as she stared at Fennelis like some monster.

"H-How did you know about the Moon Crown, Lady Fennelis?" She asked with a stutter.

"You should go and talk to a healer and find a solution for your sleep talking habit. One of the Castle maids overheard your panicking shout one night and learned about this news. Humph, almost all of them who are working in your castle knew about this matter. Everyone is keeping their mouth sealed because they knew leaking this news would bring catastrophe to their own family." Fennelis said without minding Edith's dumbfounded look and turned her gaze towards Rizz.

"Darling, we need to talk for a minute privately." She said while emitting a chilling aura and pointed her finger at the almost ruined temple. For a moment, including Kate and Cedric began to feel sorry for Rizz.

After twelve hours, Abium reappeared at the Dark god temple entrance and froze because he saw the pale-faced Rizz stood at the temple's exit gate.

His face was utterly swollen, and there were bruises all over his body. Meanwhile, others stood a few meters away from him, and everyone was cautiously glancing at Fennelis from time to time.

'Did Lady Fennelis beat him up?' Abium became speechless.

'I feel sorry for you, man. I don't want to involve myself in their family matter.' Shaking his head, he moved towards their direction while waving his hand. Everyone nodded their head in response and soon gathered near him.

"Let's go to the fifth layer quickly," Abium said while gazing at the grey-colored barren lands. He knew dangers were still lurking in the second layer and thought moving towards the fifth layer was a good idea. They began to move in a group and spent their next two weeks searching for the exit.

At the end of the second week, they found another cavern-like structure leading to the underground. Without any delay, they walked into the maze-like tunnel and went to the third layer. Abium knew the chance of meeting other groups inside the dungeon was slim. Each layer was so vast and had many cave-like structures leading to the next layer.

'Dangers will also increase as we move to the next layer.' Abium thought to himself and let out a relieved sigh. If not for Azolla's scan function, their group would have already lost one or two peoples due to different dark creatures' ambushes. They also saw many abandoned houses, buildings from time to time, and got more curious about the origin of dungeons.

'It appears this dungeon lands were occupied by normal peoples long ago. Is this land once belonging to some divine kingdom?' A strange thought appeared inside his mind.

'Well, I will find out the truth in the future.' He muttered inwardly and turned his attention towards the current situation.

After walking for five hours, the group reached the other end and arrived at the third layer. Instead of darkness filled with red light, they saw bright sunlight in the third layer. Yes! Sun shone brightly in the sky, illuminating the whole layer brightly. As they stepped out of the cave-like tunnel, a rare beautiful image presented to their eyes. Multiple mushrooms around two to five meters tall covered the whole layer, making the layer look more like a garden.

Although a few green trees appeared here and there, they appeared like a boat in the sea. There were different colors of mushrooms along with spores dancing all over the place. Moreover, some mushrooms had weird hands, and they even saw a few mushrooms walking like they were normal animals. But Abium saw some worms attached in those mushrooms and grew more cautious.

'I think we need to more careful of these mushrooms.' Abium muttered to himself and gestured them to follow after him. Without alerting those walking mushrooms, their group chose a random direction and went ahead.

But to their surprise, they found another cave-like structure that leads to the next layer only after walking for an hour. Their group walked into the cave without any hesitation and moved towards the fourth layer.

The fourth layer was similar to the third one. But instead of mushrooms, there were numerous types of green trees, vines, and plants covered all over the place. They stood at the entrance while admiring the beauty of the natural scenario.

"Here looks so peaceful!" Kate muttered out loud while looking at the sole Sun hanging up above her head. The bright Sunlight reflected on those green leaves, giving a warm feeling to her heart.

But before she could feel the warmth of the Sun, a strange green shadow dashed towards her direction from the nearby bush and threw a dart at her. As a skilled thief, Kate's perception was greater, so she quickly ducked her head and evaded the dart skilfully. A second later, the dark quickly stabbed onto the nearby tree and instantly corroded it.

'What the heck?! Goblin?' She became startled and quickly gripped her dagger tighter.
