Rebirth of Abium

164 Chapter 164: Death Cane

"It seems my job is already over." A cold yet calm voice came from the dark, gloomy figure, causing Arkos to stop his footsteps.

Turning around, he saw a forty-year-old man with russet brown eyes and brown hair was walking in his direction. He wore a black robe with a skull symbol embroidered on it and gave off an aura of death around him.

'Necromancer!' Arko's lips trembled in fear as he identified the man who stood 50 meters away from him. Other four priests also identified the black-robed man and stared at him in vigilance and cautiousness.

But before Arkos and other priests could act, two blonde-haired women who wore silver armor appeared in front of the black-robed necromancer. Both had soulless white eyes, and their faces were deathly pale as if there was no blood in their bodies!

Arkos's face stiffened up as he saw those two figures and muttered out loud in a trembling tone.

"Oh, Lord of the Light! They are Holy Maidens!"

'But why are they look so pale? Moreover, why are they protecting that necromancer?' He frowned as he analyzed both of those holy maidens.

But soon, his face went death pale as he thought of the worst possibility.

'Are they undead?' His whole body began to shake in fear.

Meanwhile, Rilos gave a cold look at Arkos and quickly ordered those two holy maidens to attack. He also saw the Death Cane, which laid near the Nightmare Shadow's body, and decided to kill everyone.

Arkos saw blurring images for a moment, and soon he saw one of the Holy Maidens appeared in front of him and thrust her sword towards his heart.

'Light shield.' Without any delay, he activated his defensive artifact.

Bang!

Holy maiden's sword collided against the Light Shield and threw him a few meters away along with it.

Arkos became utterly terrified. He crashed onto the broken debris and let out a groaning sound. Although he landed safely due to the light shield, he still got dizzy due to that collision.

Taking a deep breath, he stood up vigilantly and turned around to see the other four priests.

But soon, his eyes widened as he saw all of their heads were nowhere to be seen. He caught four headless bodies laid on the yard and were twitching fiercely.

'NOO!' He screamed inside his mind and felt despair.

Enemy's attacks were too fast, which made him stop his thinking.

"Now, how do you want to die?" Once again, Rilos slowly walked towards Death Cane and asked with a chilling tone.

'Damn it! Why am I standing like a pathetic mortal?' He slapped himself in anger. After that, he removed his silver bracelet from his hand and threw it towards his front while muttering a single word in a runic language.

''Release.''

He monolid silver eyes, thick eyebrows, pale skin, and platinum-colored straight hair. He wore a green miter gown, zucchetto, and stole.

Although he was just an illusionary figure, his presence gave off a destructive feeling!

His arrival made Rilos's russet brown eyes to squint sharper.

'Archbishop Rafe!' That was the first thought that came to Rilos's mind as he saw the green miter gown.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Rafe looked coldly around the surroundings and asked Arkos,

"How did Piers died?"

Although his tone was soft, Arkos could feel he was pissed off right now!

Hiding his fear, Arkos answered solemnly.

"He sacrificed himself to kill the Nightmare Shadow, Your Eminence."

Archbishop Rafe nodded his head and turned his head sharply towards two holy maidens who stood in front of Rilos. After that, he narrowed his eyes for a second and then stared at Rilos in anger.

"Sinner! You dare to lay your hand on sacred bodies of Holy maidens?!" A furious roar echoed in that fifth layer!

Upon hearing those words, a wry smile appeared on Rilos's face. But he didn't get anxious, though. Instead, he turned his face solemn and replied while taking out another small white human skeleton.

"I don't need to answer to a mere incarnation, Archbishop Rafe."

When he finished his sentence, two of his holy maidens and another small white skeleton sprinted towards the illusionary Archbishop Rafe while gripping their weapons tighter.

All of their movements were perfectly coordinated and didn't even give a slight opening.

While those undead beings were completely blocking Archbishop, Rilos hasten his footsteps towards the Death Cane.

"Humph! My mere incarnation is enough to kill tens of you." Meanwhile, Archbishop Rafe ridiculed coldly and pointed his finger towards Rilos. The next moment, arrows of pure, holy light came out above the sky and moved towards Rilos at an incredible speed. When Rilos saw those holy lights, his expression turned ugly.

Law of Arrows! It was a third-tier light spell infused with law power!

'If I didn't escape now, I will die for sure.' He knew all those holy arrows contain pure law power and backed away hurriedly.

Then he took out a thumb-sized black orb from his spatial ring and crushed it.

Black smoke came out from that orb and completely shielded his body like protective armor.

After that, all those light arrows infused with law power crashed onto that black smoke. But soon began to absorb into it and released it in another direction.

Mist of Death! It was a third-tier death magic spell!

Seeing this, Archbishop sighed deeply and clapped his hand.

The next second, countless light spears appeared in the sky like a punishment from Heaven and fell towards Rilos at an incredible speed.

'We must get this Death cane.' Archbishop Rafe muttered to himself and also began to chant an incantation.

Meanwhile, Rilos felt miserable as he saw countless spears fell from the sky. Without any other choice, he ordered all three undead to come back and protect his body.

Rilos then gritted his teeth and released all of his undead skeletons from his spatial ring. The next moment, hundreds of skeletons from different races began to surround his body.

Watching the grand spectacle, Abium became stunned for a moment.

Then those spears from the sky crashed on to the area. Bone cracking sounds, explosions, and cries of pitiful souls echoed everywhere as the light spears purified those undead creatures. After that, the whole surroundings became cloudy due to the purified bone clouds of dust.

'Did he die?' Abium watched the scene in amazement and soon saw four figures still standing in the cloudy area center.

Rilos, two holy maidens, and the white skeleton still stood firmly and appeared in a miserable state. Even Rilos was covered in blood and appeared to be severely injured.

Watching this, Abium sighed heavily and teleported in front of him.

A surprise expression appeared on Rilos's face.

"What are you doing?" He asked with a frown on his face. Rilos knew this guy was the 'Red Angel of Time' and became puzzled by his behavior.

'Did he plan to reveal his identity here?' Rilos thought and felt confused even more.

Abium, on the other hand, felt not right. If not for Abium's interference with the future, Rilos wouldn't be in such a pathetic state. Moreover, he thought he might use his help in the future.

'At least, I will save his life once.' He muttered to himself and asked,

"Do you want me to help you?"

Upon hearing Abium's devil-like words, Rilos's eyes widened in surprise.

"In exchange for that, what do I have to do?" Rilos knew he had to sacrifice something in order to save himself and asked instead of agreeing.

Abium's lips curled upward, and he spoke while shaking his head.

"Nothing."

Rilos got baffled a bit by his reply and sighed deeply.

'As expected of the Angel of Time, he didn't even have any slight worry when facing the incarnation of Archbishop.' Rilos said to himself full of admiration and nodded his head in agreement.

The next moment, Abium saw Archbishop almost finished his chanting and smirked at him.

He knew Archbishop was going to cast a Divine spell called Well of Darkness. A spell specifically used to imprison enemies in a different dimension.

But Abium didn't panic. Because he knew one secret which others weren't aware of.

'Light God's Divine spells won't work inside dungeons.' Abium heard in the past that it was mainly due to the destruction of those seals.

'I heard only Mother Nature Goddess's and other few gods' divine spells would work inside these dungeons. Hmm, maybe those seals are restricting foreign gods from giving their power to their believers in our world?' Abium thought to himself and smiled.

"He will face backlash," Abium calmly muttered as Archbishop finished his incantation and then looked at Archbishop Rafe coldly.

A second later, something extraordinary happened!

Archbishop felt his link towards Light God's divine kingdom cut off suddenly, and his face went death pale.

Bang!

Due to the invisible restriction, an explosion occurred inside his illusionary head. The next moment, the whole illusionary body turned into pure yellow light and disappeared from there.

But suddenly Rilos shouted.

"No!"

Abium got startled a bit, and soon he turned his head towards the direction where that Death Cane was laid.

A white-robed figure stood with a grin on his face while holding a spell scroll in his other hand.

When others were seriously battling, Arkos used the opportunity and already arrived in front of the Nightmare Shadow's body!

With a smile on his face, he bent his waist a bit and moved his hand towards the Death Cane.

All he had to do was grab the Death Cane, which laid in front of his eyes and disappeared from this place using a random teleportation scroll. After that, he would use this artifact and safely escape from this dungeon.

As Arkos was musing himself in joy, Abium spoke while tapping his miracle star bracelet.

"Switch!"

The next instant, Arkos felt his whole surroundings began to change, and a second later, he found himself standing next to the necromancer!

"What the hell?" Both Arkos and Rilos shouted out loud with wary eyes.

At the same time, Abium casually extended his right hand and picked up the Death Cane with a soft smile on his face.

Then he quickly asked Azolla to scan the Death Cane while sending his spiritual power into it. The next moment, he bound the Death Cane with his spiritual imprint and sighed inwardly.

Meanwhile, Azolla finished scanning the cane and began to explain in his mind.

'This artifact is created by Grandmaster level Rune mage, kid. It has two legendary tier spells and one unique spell, which must be on par with the forbidden tier spell or Demi-god level spell.

The first spell is 'The King of the dead.' If you use this spell, you will able to summon a King from the underworld directly, and the King will obey your every command for the next five minutes. If you had already attracted some of King's attention, he might use this opportunity to come and look for you, so be careful when using this spell.

Once you summon a King, you must ask the King if he is willing to sign a messenger contract. If he disagreed with it, you have to tell him to return to his world quickly. Otherwise, he might imprison your soul when the time is over and enslave you eternally in the underworld.

Undead are restricted to leave their world without any proper reason. So, most of the undead kings will be willing to sign a messenger contract. Once you sign a messenger contract, he can able to remain in our world without any problem. But his strength will be reduced to your level.

The second spell is 'Death Shot.' Once you cast this spell, you can kill your opponent, who is one tier above yours. This spell is the same as 'Eye of Destruction'; its strength will improve whenever you advanced to the next level. In the future, its power will be more destructive. But you can use this spell only once per month.

The third spell is 'Breaker of Soul chain.' Using this spell, you can even break restrictions placed on souls by the enemy. This spell has complex death law power, which made this spell more unique. Although this spell can't break the shackle placed on mages, I think it can easily break those shackles placed on Beastkins. Also, you can be only able to use this spell once per year.' Upon hearing those words, Abium's lips curled upward.

He casually held the golden handle with his right hand and then aimed the heel at Arkos's head.

"Death Shot." Abium calmly spoke. A second later, a bang sound echoed!

The next instant, a pebble-sized hole appeared on Arkos's forehead, and he slowly fell on the ground while his body began to twitch uncontrollably!
