Reborn: The Unexpected Twist

Chapter 219 - My weapon

After his persuasive techniques, Taehyun finally managed to convince Jinhee to let him stay in her room. Considering how the Lee Family was, Taehyun did not feel safe with Jinhee staying in her room alone.

With her dim table lamp on, Jinhee tried to sketch a design for the competition. However, she found herself being hopeless in this case. Nonetheless, she did not fret too much about it, for she had something else inside her mind.

Nonetheless, before resorting to that method, Jinhee wanted to try her best. However, creating a design which would threaten Minjoon wasn't easy.

Biting the end of her pencil, she scanned through the various designs, which were on trend, on the notebook in front of her. However, there was nothing which inspired her.

Letting out a sigh, Jinhee closed the book in front of her and laid her head down on the table. Closing her eyes tightly, she was praying for inspiration to hit her. However, her mind stayed blank.

Although Jinhee heard footsteps behind her, she did not raise her head, and the chair beside her was pulled back. Han Taehyun sat down upon it.

"No idea on what to draw?" Taehyun questioned.

Letting out a loud sigh, Jinhee raised her head, and looking towards him, a pout formed upon her lips. She then shook her head and said, "Be my knight in shining armor."

Taehyun let out a chuckle and said, "Regardless of how talented I seem, I am afraid I have no idea about fashion designing either."

"Forget fashion designing; I can't even draw. Even if my mind has ideas, I can't sketch it properly on the paper," Jinhee vocalised.

"Try drawing something simple first, Jinhee-ah, and then slowly try to improve it. Your paper is completely blank, and you haven't even started. How are you so sure your sketches will be that horrible?" Taehyun voiced out.

"You're right, Taehyun. Maybe I should start drawing," Jinhee said, "But is it bad that I don't know how to start drawing?"

Han Taehyun began laughing and stated, "You're really cute, Jinhee. Do you know that?"

Jinhee scoffed and vocalised, "Calling me 'cute' won't help me learn how to draw. I can barely draw stick figures."

Taehyun clapped both of his hands together and vocalised, "Alright, I will help you with that then. Although I particularly have no skills when it comes to fashion designing, I can draw nice stick figures."

°°°

Jinhee yawned as she raised her head from the table. It seemed that she had fallen asleep whilst drawing with Taehyun yesterday, she recalled them staying awake until three in the morning.

Maybe that's when she had fallen asleep. Glancing at the clock, Jinhee noticed that it was around nine in the morning now, and as she had fallen asleep in an awkward position, her back ached terribly.

Holding her back, she turned to her left and noticed that Taehyun was asleep. In front of him, papers were sprawled upon the desk, and a peaceful look sat on his face.

Staring at Taehyun's sleeping face, she realized that he wasn't wearing his wig. Glancing towards her door, she felt relief spread over her when she saw that the door was closed.

Watching Taehyun's features, she extended her hand towards him and pushed back his bangs from his forehead. Under the sunlight that peeked in through her balcony's glass door, Taehyun appeared ethereal.

Not wanting to disturb Taehyun from his sleep, she pushed her chair back as she stood up. Stepping towards her bed, she picked up the thin blanket, and carrying it towards Taehyun, she placed it upon his back.

As she wondered why she wasn't called for breakfast yet, Jinhee walked towards the direction of the washroom.

Before going down, she decided to freshen up before facing all the drama today. Then, she noticed the thick pile of books on top of the desk, and Jinhee decided to skip breakfast today. Exams started from Tuesday, and she should start studying more.

Skipping one or two meals wouldn't cause her much harm.

°°°

The time read ten on the clock, and as Jinhee's eyes scanned through the notebook in her hand, her stomach let out an involuntary growl. The sound made Jinhee's cheeks turn light pink.

"You skipped breakfast?"

Hearing Taehyun's voice, she turned her head to look towards him and voiced out, "You're finally awake."

"I was awake half an hour ago; It's just you who didn't notice me," Taehyun pointed out as he raised his head from the table and looked at her.

"It's because I don't pay attention to trivial matters," Jinhee retorted. A calm expression sat on her face whilst the corners of her lips were slightly stretched to form a smirk.

"Heol! Jinhee-ah! You're back to being heartless again," Taehyun said, "Anyway, since I am not as heartless as you, let's go downstairs after I wash up. I will cook something up for you."

Jinhee scoffed and, showing exaggeration, vocalised, "I doubt they would let someone as esteemed as you cook for them. They would rather than let you be in the kitchen."

Shrugging his shoulders, Taehyun voiced out, "Let them die then. It's not as if I care. If that is what it takes to make my Jinhee happy, I am willing to do it."

"Your Jinhee? When did I even belong to you? Enough with the greasiness though. After you're done freshening up, please do go and kill those annoying members of the Lee family," Jinhee voiced out.

Letting out a chuckle, Taehyun voiced out, "I shall as you order then, Your Majesty. Let me prepare my weapon."

Jinhee let out a chuckle. Placing her book on the table, she pushed the chair back and stood up. Smiling at Taehyun, she said, "I am really not exaggerating though. Recently, one time I wanted to cook some ramen for myself yet they started a huge drama about it. One would think I was making some weird potion judging from their expression."

Taehyun simply laughed at Jinhee's words and shook his head.
