Reborn: The Unexpected Twist

Chapter 227 - Slapped

Lee Jinhee's eyes narrowed when she saw someone stomped towards her and was about to grab her collar. However, before that person could do so, Taeho slapped her hand away.

Staring at the girl in front of her, Jinhee wondered about the possible reason behind her actions. Anger showed upon the girl's face whilst her eyes glared at Jinhee. She looked to be around eighteen.

Jinhee did not recognize the girl standing before her and realized that the sudden noise attracted everyone's attention. From the corner of her eyes, Jinhee could see Youngmi and clearly understood that this was one of her plots.

Kim Jaehyun had his hand tightly clenched into a fist and was ready to take action if Han Taeho failed to protect Jinhee.

A worried expression sat on Youngmi's face as she ran towards the girl. Seeing how genuine the expression on Youngmi's face appeared, Jinhee's urge to expose her increased.

"Minji Unnie, what are you doing?" Youngmi questioned.

A frown sat on Youngmi's face whilst she had her eyebrows furrowed. Wearing a mask of innocence, Youngmi seemed to be clueless about the entire matter. Nonetheless, she was well aware that underneath this mask, Youngmi was clearly the one controlling the strings.

Turning back to face Youngmi, Minji vocalised, "Youngmi-ah, you have to get justice for yourself. Those earrings were given to you by your Grandfather, and you can't just let them be stolen that easily."

Hearing those words, a small smirk formed on to Jinhee's face, which wasn't missed by Han Taeho. After hearing those words from Minji, Taeho was ready to attack, but after noticing that expression on Jinhee's face, he knew that she had something planned.

Therefore, he let her be. After all, if she was stuck, he could come to her support. At this moment, he could let her play her cards.

Facing Jinhee, Minji pointed her finger towards her and said, "Someone like her definitely doesnt deserve to be invited into your birthday. Most definitely—"

"Isn't being Taeho's fiancée enough of a reason or is it that being his fiancée holds no meaning?" Jinhee questioned interrupting Minji.

Minji did not appear to he too pleasant to have been interrupted, and leaning her face closer to Minji's, Jinhee added, "Be careful of what you say, Minji-ssi. Your words can easily be used against you."

Hearing those words from Jinhee, Minji's eyes widened. It was as if Jinhee was threatening her, and the tone she used actually affected her, causing a chill to go down her spine.

However, staring at Jinhee's smiling face, Minji felt more annoyed. Nonetheless, she realized that Han Taeho was standing beside her and was well aware that offending him wasn't something she could afford regardless of how she was to the President's Family.

Even the President himself did not dare to directly offend Han Taeho.

"Don't say such mean words, Minji-ah, and Jinhee is my friend. She wouldn't do anything like that," Youngmi voiced out— her voice radiating innocence. Jinhee held in her urge to let our a scoff at how Youngmi sounded.

Minji let out a cough and vocalised, "Regardless of whether or not she deserves to be invited here, everyone present here clearly knows that she was the only one invited to your room. That is definitely when she took the opportunity to steal your earrings."

Looking over at the guests, Minji continued, "The maids were trained properly, and they wouldn't dare do such a thing. The security around the mansion is too high for a thief to sneak in, and even the professional thieves will be caught. You're the only one who could have stolen that "

Noticing the number of flaws in those sentences of Minji, Jinhee held in her urge to roll her eyes. Even if Youngmi chose someone to humiliate her, she did not expect for Youngmi to choose someone as stupid as Minji in front of her.

Youngmi extended her hand towards Minji and held her arm. Pulling on to it softly, Youngmi vocalised, "Unnie, let's not create a scene here. I know that Jinhee-ssi wouldn't be stealing it, and maybe the maids have just misplaced it. It could also be that I have misplaced it."

Rubbing the top of Youngmi's head, Minji vocalised, "You are too naive, Youngmi. Of you don't reveal the true colours of people like her early, then more people are bound to get hurt."

'You Dumb Minji, Youngmi isn't the one who is naive. It is you who is stupidly naive and is being used by her.'

As much as Jinhee wanted to voice those words out, she was well aware that would not be in her favour.

At that moment, Jinhee began to hear about all the gossip people started regarding her. Nonetheless, being used to such things, Jinhee did bot find herself being affected by it.

"Look at her being so shameless."

"Kwon Youngmi is definitely pitiful for befriending someone like her."

"Youngmi is really sweet. Youngmi saw how lonely she was and decided to befriend her. However, she is being treated like this."

"After hearing all these, she is keeping on that smug smile of her upon her face."

"It definitely because she is planning to use Han Taeho's power to solve all this. Taeho is truly pitiful for having such a fiancée."

"Indeed. I don't understand why someone like her will be taken as a fiancée. If she was my fiancée, I would have preferred to die rather than marrying her."

Hearing those words from the people beside them, Jinhee held in her urge to comment on how ridiculous to how ridiculous they sound. Judging by how they were supporting Youngmi, she knew that they were her lackeys.

"You're telling me that even the professionals wouldn't be able to go through that security, right?" Jinhee questioned whilst raising one of her eyebrows.

Noticing Jinhee being like this, Minji's initial instinct was to be on guard, and she replied, "Yes, we have one of the best security system in South Korea."
