Reborn: The Unexpected Twist

Chapter 83 - Feeling heavy

Moving away from Taehee, Jinhee turned back. Recognising the female standing in front of her, Jinhee wiped away the tears. Hyunbin's mother, Min Sooah, stared at her with widened eyes.

"Mrs. Min, it is a surprise seeing you here," Jinhee voiced out.

"C-Could it be possible that you're Sihyeon's daughter?" She asked.

"Jaehyun-ssi, are you planning to go anywhere?" Chaewon questioned as she followed after Jaehyun.

Stopping in his steps, Jaehyun turned back and questioned, "Want to accompany me?"

It seemed either Jaehyun could not hide his emotions that well today or that the emotions he currently felt was too great for him to hide. Despondency coloured his face.

'Could this be related to what happened between him and Jinhee last night?'

At such a vulnerable moment, Chaewon wanted to be beside Jaehyun and take away every pain of his. She did not know that she was capable of feeling this way for someone she barely knew about until this day.

"As your assistant, it's my job to take care of your every need. So, if you want me to, I'll gladly do it," Chaewon answered professionally.

She didn't want Jaehyun to notice the emotions she was currently feeling and distance himself away from her. Although their time together was very short, she wanted to enjoy it as long as it lasts.

Already she had convinced herself that there will be nothing between the both of them, but that doesn't mean that she can't admire him from afar. That much was satisfactory for her.

"We'll exit through the back door," Jaehyun spoke out.

Nodding, Chaewon followed after him as he walked towards the direction of the backdoor. Nervousness gnawed within Chaewon at the thought of spending time with Jaehyun.

Opening the door, Jaehyun and Chaewon walked past the security guards, and luckily for them, none of the paparazzi or fans could be spotted.

In front of both of them stood a red and black motorcycle. Having read through the documents the manager had sent her, Chaewon was aware that Jaehyun drove a motorcycle during leisure time.

Although Chaewon personally did not prefer motorcycles, it did not mean she completely hated it. Accepting the helmet Jaehyun had handed to her, Chaewon tried to secure it over her head.

Nonetheless, no matter how many times she tried, she could not place it on her head properly without making a mess out of her hair.

"That's not how you do it," Jaehyun spoke out.

Moving closer to Chaewon, Jaehyun took the helmet from her hand, and brushing his hand through her hair, he made it neater. Placing the helmet over her head, Jaehyun leaned closer to secure it.

Chaewon felt her cheeks heat up when she felt Jaehyun's hot breath, and such close proximity made her heart palpitate a lot faster. For a second there, she thought that it would burst out of her chest.

Her cheeks cooled down considerably as Jaehyun moved away from her and sat upon his bike. Following him, she sat behind him and stared at his back whilst being unsure of what to do.

"Tightly hold my waist," Jaehyun voiced out, "If you're not a fan of high speed racing, you can get off."

Shaking her head to indicate a 'no'—although Jaehyun couldn't see it— Chaewon wrapped her hands around Jaehyun's waist and held tight. Her heart beat rate heightened, and she was somewhat afraid he'd find out about it.

Without wasting a second more, Jaehyun started the motorbike, and it accelerated to a very high speed. The air moved the opposite direction, and this rush of air increased the adrenaline within Chaewon.

Unexpectedly, she found it very much addicting. The cold air gave her comfort as her hold on Jaehyun grew tighter. She wanted the time to stop at this moment.

"Are you alright?" Jaehyun questioned.

'Is he concerned about me?'

"Yeah, I'm fine," Chaewon answered.

Chaewon did not count how long their ride lasted. As the motorcycle passed through the almost empty streets, Chaewon's eyes captured the scene in front of her.

All of a sudden, the motorcycle decelerated before stopping at the middle of the mountain road. There was no one around them, and Jaehyun parked the motorcycle at one place.

"If you want to go back, I can send you," Jaehyun voiced out.

"There is no need for that," Chaewon answered.

"The mountain roads at this part has almost no people," Jaehyun spoke out, "If you're worried, it's better if you say it now."

"My heart has been feeling heavy lately as well, and I think such a walk would make me feel more refreshed." Chaewon's lips curved up by a little.

Jaehyun sighed.

"I warned you."

"Yes, she is my mother. But how do you know her?" Jinhee asked, staring at her inquisitively.

"Y-You're Sihyeon's daughter. No wonder you looked so familiar. Do you know what happened with your mother?" Min Sooah's expression held sadness and regret, which was not missed by Jinhee.

"This is not the best place to talk; I suggest we go somewhere better," Taehee voiced out, wearing the polite smile she showed to strangers.

As they were seated at a café, with a cup of coffee in front of them, Jinhee waited for the female to start speaking. Many questions rang within her head. Could this female know who her father was?

"I'm Min Sooah, and if you could remember, I'm Hyunbin's mother," Soohyun started.

"After I saw you, I had doubts that you're related to Sihyeon, and seeing you here today confirmed that. You must have noticed that Hyunbin looks really similar to you."

Jinhee nodded.

"That's because he is your half-brother."
