"You'll get the answer," Taeho voiced out, "Only after you agree to be my fiancé."

No matter how much curious she was, was it worth enough to potentially risk everything? Then again, Taeho will also be keeping her safe from Kwon Youngmi.

"If I wanted to harm you, I wouldn't need to take such measures. It would be a matter of seconds for me," Taeho pointed out after noticing Jinhee's hesitancy.

There are no mistakes within Taeho's words, and Jinhee had to agree with him. With or without being his fiancé, Taeho would be able to do anything to her if he desired for it.

Jinhee sighed.

"Alright, I suppose I can agree to being your temporary fiancé," Jinhee answered.

She, then, added, "Why are you helping me?"

Finishing his cup of cappuccino, Taeho voiced out, "Making up for my past sins?"

'Past sins? Could it be—No way!'

"Were you given a second chance as well?" Jinhee gasped.

Jinhee walked on the beach on her way back to the hotel. Her earlier conversation with Taeho was stuck in her mind, and the entire situation sounded unbelievable to her.

Luckily, she did not need to keep a watch on Jaehyun anymore since Akane returned to Tokyo immediately after the shooting was over in the morning. This made her feel relieved.

The fear because of Youngmi's return, conflicted feelings due to Taehee and her birth father, and now this surprise— Her emotions were overwhelming at this moment. This life of hers was really eventful.

°°°

"Yeah, at about the same time as you," Taeho voiced out, staring at Jinhee with an indescribable emotion in her eyes.

Blinking her eyes multiple times, Jinhee tried to sink in the words Taeho threw at her, and the surprise was evident on her face.

This was not something Jinhee had expected. Then again, her current life was not something Jinhee had ever thought would happen. When that truck hit her, she was sure that was the last moment for her.

'I did not know that he was given a second chance but how did he?'

"How did you know that I was given a second chance?" Jinhee asked. Confusion and curiosity— both played on her face currently.

"It was a premonition, I suppose," Taeho voiced out, digging his fork into the cake and picking it up.

'Premonition? Taeho was someone who believed in superstitious? Nevertheless, after being reborn again, I suppose it's understandable for him to have trust in it.'

"Even in our previous life, we were strangers. So, you should have no intentions of reasons to make it up to me," Jinhee pointed out as she saw Taeho put the piece of cake inside his mouth.

Placing the fork in his hand down, Taeho stared straight at Jinhee and spoke out, "I was the one, the one that run over you with the car."

Hearing that Jinhee's eyes widened remarkably whilst she stared at Taeho with disbelief. Her hands shook whilst she silently stared at Taeho, finding no courage within her to enunciate a word.

As Jaehyun sat at the back of his car, his phone rang. On the driver's seat sat his manager, Hwang Myunghoon, and beside Myunghoon sat his assistant, Ahn Chaewon.

Taking his phone out, Jaehyun let out a low sigh when he saw the name, and a frown formed on Jaehyun's face, which Chaewon noticed from the rearview mirror.

"It must be the witch again," Myunghoon commented whilst he started the car.

Receiving the call, Jaehyun voiced out, "Is there anything you needed, mother?"

'He mustn't be that close to his mother judging by his tone,' Chaewon thought as she carefully observed Jaehyun's expression from the rearview mirror.

From the other side, his mother said, "Youngmi returned to South Korea, and now, she is at our house.

Solve all the rumours you formed over there at Japan, and if the matters are that intense, I will make that girl in the rumour disappear."

Although Chaewon could not hear what his mother was talking about, she noticed that the frown on his face was deepening, and she could guess that it must be something unpleasant.

"Don't," Jaehyun replied— his tone sounding threatening. The look in his eyes grew intense as if someone harmed the most important thing to him.

"How dare you talk to me like that!? If you don't like that Lee Jinkyung, Kwon Youngmi is a better option although she appears to be very young. Don't break the sweet girl's heart over some tramp!"

"Is that all?" Jaehyun questioned in an indifferent tone.

"Don't stir up more trouble in Japan, and bring something pleasing for Kwon Youngmi from Japan. It better be something satisfactory, and return as soon as possible! I don't want Youngmi to wait for someone as worthless as you!" His mother voiced out.

Hanging up the call, a despondent expression sat on Jaehyun's face, and staring at the ground, he supported his head up with his hand.

"Myunghoon hyung, buy something that Youngmi would like from Japan," Jaehyun ordered— his voice showing the frustration he felt.

Hearing the name 'Youngmi' made Chaewon feel unpleasant.
