Rebound: A 2nd Chance

Chapter 195: A friendly match- California vs Texas: part-2

Jason took a look at Monty and his team. Mike was the shortest one on their team standing at around 5'6 (1.67m).

Then Monty, Mojo, and Jig were all around the same size as they stood at 5'10 (1.77m). Monty and Jig were on the thinner side compared to Mojo.

Big Stax was the tallest player on their team. He had a dark complexion that was similar to the color of obsidian.

His filled out frame was bigger than Kyle's but noticeably smaller than 3D. He looked to be an inch taller than Kyle at 6-2 (1.87M). His hair was short on the top with a fresh fade on the sides.

Monty, Jig, and Mike were a little on the darker side but it wasn't to the level of Stax. They were comparable in skin tone to Udonis.

Monty had his hair tied into braids in the style of Allen Iverson and he wore some low top sneakers with a black wristband on his right hand.

As everyone was making their way to the court and getting ready for the game to start Jason opened up the system and used Heart's Eye.

Jason was slightly surprised by Stax's skills 'Shit. It looks like Stax is a stretch Big. If you just looked at him his body language and rough appearance would make you think that he's a traditional Big that likes to bang in the paint.

I hope 3D can cope with him. If possible I would Kyle on Stax but then that leaves us with another problem all together.

From the looks of things Jig is probably their Power Forward. He looks like an athletic slasher so there's no way that 3D will be able to stay in front of him.

We'll just have to try putting 3D on Stax first. If he really can't guard him out on the perimeter then we'll have to think of something else.

Monty is probably going to be the main focus of their offense. The fact that he has two of his teammates here is going to be a bit of a problem.

They have a slight advantage when it comes to team chemistry because they have three people that actually played together before.

If we want to win then we'll have to play like a team and not just a collection of good players.' Monty picked up the ball as he volunteered to represent his team.

Jason didn't talk about it with his teammates but no one had an objection when he walked forward to shoot for their team.

The two of them then began to shoot to decide first possession. Jason and Monty both started from the three as they didn't bother with any free throws.

Round after round Jason and Monty took turns draining shots from behind the arc. It took over ten round for them to decide who would start off the game with the ball.

Luckily for Kyle and the rest of the guys Jason once again showed why he was one of the best shooters in the state as he beat out Monty in their shoot out.

Monty was right in front of Jason. The smile disappeared from Monty's face as he quickly pushed the ball toward Jason "Check." Jason was taken off guard as he didn't expect Monty's action.

The ball hit Jason in the gut with a fair amount of force. But even though Jason was feeling a bit of pain his face didn't show an ounce of it as he simply reached for the ball with his hands and nodded.

With the ball in his hands Jason was in triple threat position as he scanned the court. He saw that 3D was already in position as he had his defender sealed off behind him on the right block.

Jason passed the ball to Danilo who was standing on the right Wing. He then started cutting toward the right corner.

Danilo caught the ball from Jason and looked out to 3D. After seeing that it was safe he then tossed the ball into the post to 3D.

3D was posted up on the right block, Jason was standing in the right corner, and Danilo was standing around on the right wing.

Meanwhile Kyle and Alex were over on the weak side as they stayed ready to read and react depending on how the play developed.

As good as Stax might be on the offensive end of the ball he didn't even stand a chance in guarding 3D in the post.

With just a few pushes 3D was able to muscle his way in deep into the paint. Stax had his arms up as he tried to make things hard for 3D.

But once 3D was that deep into the paint you could forget about trying to stop him. 3D drop stepped ,which pushed Stax out of the way, before laying the ball in with a gentle finger roll.

The ball swished through the net and Jason ran up to 3D to high five him and to congratulate him on the made shot.

Jason pumped his fist as the two of them made their way back on to defense 'At least things are looking good on offense.

Now we just need to see how well we can work together on the defensive side of the ball.'
