After the explosion the surrounding turned dark and fights broke out everywhere.

'Devils,' I mumble slightly panicking.

The last time we met devils wasn't really a good experience.

I start running back to the inn where we were staying.

'Let's catch up with Miss Lucy and Icelos to decide our next move from there,'

As I was running towards miss Lucy, I felt someone running towards me.

'Someone is there.'

I use my [Nature's Sense] to scan the area and find a devil hiding and running through the battlefield.

'Why is he hiding? Wait, that's!' I exclaim as I observe him closely.

He is carrying someone on his shoulder. On closer look, she matches the description of the Elven Princess...almost.

She looks like a sack of bone right now. My eyes turn furious as I look at him.

'These devils, how can they be this cruel?' My anger slowly takes over me.

"Can you stop hiding and running while carrying a princess like a sack?" I ask the devil with a serious expression.

The more I look at the Princess, the more my head throbs with anger.

'What if it had been mother? Or Anna? Or Amanda?'

Those thoughts start consuming my mind.

I channel mana into the floor and roots start growing all around me.

He stops as he looks at me then starts running in my direction.

"Children shouldn't poke their noses in adults' business," he speaks with a smile on his face as he attacks me.

His smile makes me even more irritated.

I jump left leaving a clone behind that gets punched and destroyed into woods.

Spores blast out of the clone as it is destroyed.

The roots in the area start binding the devil but he easily breaks free.

'He is strong but...'

"[Wood Arts: Devouring Hallows]" I chant and 30 dark wooden branches start coming out of the floor and attack the devil from all sides.

The devils start circling around dodging the attacks.

He dodges each attack skillfully and reaches closer to me.

"Naive," he speaks with a grin on his face.

His arm almost reaches my face.

A smile forms on my face,

"[Invert: Burn]" I chant a high-level spell, and the spores that entered into his body when he destroyed my clone, starts burning him from the inside.

"Aaaaa...I WILL KILL YOU," the devil shouts as he is burning but...

'The spores didn't penetrate that deep, huh,'

Only his skin is burning.

I kick him away creating a distance between us.

He throws the princess away and runs toward me with madness in his eyes.

'Looks like it wasn't enough.'

"[Wood Arts: Shallow forest]" I speak as I leave a clone behind at my original position and create a forest in an area of 100metres around me.

"[Devil Stance: Chameleon]" he chants a spell and turns invisible.

I use one of the branches to grab and hide the princess.

I start moving outside the forest.

The devil completely erases his presence.

His presence comes back.

He sensed me and started moving towards me.

As he was about to reach me,

Someone kicks the devil back.

"Looks like you might need some help brother," Chase speaks as he enters the battle.

He looks at the devil with a serious expression as he points his sword at the devil.

The devil gets up and starts shouting.

He then looks at Chase and jumps at him.

Chase blocks his attack but it looks like he is hurt in doing so.

His arms have blood on them.

'[Heal]' I instantly heal him.

I then focus on healing both him and the Princess.

I start healing the Princess, also buffing up my brother.

Chase is on a defensive stance.

He looks like he is having difficulty parrying the devil.

As the fight is progressing, they are getting closer to us.

'Just hold on for a few more minutes, Chase.' I mumble in low voice as I heal the Princess.

"[First Circle Open]," Chants Chase as he opens the first circle at his back.

'This idiot! it's not for fighting,' I mumble.

'That's not how I want you to create time, you moron' I mumble irritatingly.

Even though I fully understand that he has no choice but to do it.

Light asked us to use it specifically for running away.

I put my focus on healing the Princess.

Even the devil is on a debuff now.

This puts us at slight advantage.

'Her mana isn't just for show, huh,' I am genuinely surprised by her mana capacity.

I look at the battle again,

Chase's power is slowly depleting.

'Looks like I don't have any other choice,'

"Sigh...[First circle Open]," I open my first circle too.
