Reincarnated as a boss tyrant in the game

#100 - The Imperial Court Meeting (the fourth update is here, please vote for me!)

The next morning, the imperial court was buzzing with discussions about the fire in the capital.

The atmosphere was so tense it was suffocating, the nobles' arguments rising and falling like waves, while Jackson's face grew increasingly pale. He retreated, his eyes flickering with fear and unease.

Suddenly, Reizel burst out from the crowd, moving with incredible speed. In the blink of an eye, he was in front of Jackson, throwing a punch straight at Jackson's cheek.

The force of the blow was immense, and Jackson staggered, nearly falling to the ground.

"I'll beat you to death, you bastard! This is for my clansmen who died!" Reizel roared, his eyes bloodshot, as if they would pop out of their sockets. His voice echoed through the hall, filled with endless grief and rage.

This punch seemed to be a signal. The nobles who had lost loved ones in the fire could no longer contain their anger. They raised their fists and charged towards Jackson, roaring.

In an instant, the imperial court descended into chaos.

Nobles pushed and shoved each other, some even starting to fight.

Some ministers tried to mediate, but were instead caught up in the melee.

The order of the assembly completely collapsed, a cacophony of voices blending into a chaotic uproar.

Jackson dodged and weaved through the crowd, trying to avoid the angry fists. But his face grew more and more strained, his heart filled with fear and despair.

The next second, Jackson was pushed to the ground, and countless fists rained down on him.

Usually, at the imperial court, the emperor would not intervene in disputes between ministers as long as they didn't use magic. But today's situation was clearly different. Jackson was in danger of being overwhelmed by the angry crowd.

Seeing this, Emperor Gustav had no choice but to send guards to pull the brawling parties apart, in order to maintain order in the assembly and ensure Jackson's safety.

With the intervention of the guards, the chaotic scene gradually came under control.

Emperor Gustav sat on his magnificent throne, his brow furrowed, gently rubbing his temples, trying to alleviate a strange headache.

The fire was not only a major blow to the West District, but it also brought his dissatisfaction with the Crodo family to a head.

The Crodo family had risen to prominence in the capital in such a short time over the past decade thanks to Gustav's indulgence.

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that Gustav had single-handedly supported them to become a top noble family. The Crodo family should have been Gustav's close and trusted ministers, but in recent years they had become increasingly arrogant and domineering, causing Gustav a lot of trouble.

They had always been a thorn in Emperor Gustav's side. Their power, wealth, and influence in the capital all made Gustav uneasy. And the fire had made him see the potential danger of the Crodo family.

He had originally planned to punish the Crodo family severely, but last night's banquet had slightly calmed Gustav's anger towards them.

Empress Nina and Princess Winna, these two beautiful and intelligent women, had used all their charms at the banquet to make Emperor Gustav temporarily forget his troubles and immerse himself in their tender embrace.

Recalling the scene from last night, Gustav couldn't help but smile. Nina's dance was graceful, and Winna's singing was melodious. Every look and every gesture seemed to be pleading for the Crodo family.

Gustav knew that they were doing this in the hope that he would show leniency towards the Crodo family.

As the ruler of a nation, Gustav could not make decisions based solely on temporary pleasure. He needed to consider the stability and long-term development of the entire country.

Therefore, although last night's experience had softened his attitude towards the Crodo family, he had not completely let down his guard.

Today was not only the day of the imperial court assembly, but also the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of the Adventurers Guild's new headquarters.

The Black Cross District was already packed with onlookers, residents of the capital and adventurers from all over, all wanting to witness this historic moment.

The atmosphere at the Adventurers Guild's celebration was lively and joyful. As the red ribbon was cut, thunderous applause and cheers erupted, marking the official establishment of the Adventurers Guild. People came forward to congratulate him, wishing the guild a prosperous future.

Soren smiled broadly, shaking hands with the guests and thanking them one by one.

Less than ten minutes after Soren returned to the guild, the first quest notice since its establishment was posted.

"Investigate the arson at the noble workshops and capture the gang members involved."

The quest was simple and clear, but the rewards were very enticing.

Tracking down the mastermind would reward the guild with 50 points and 500 gold coins; and if the mastermind could be captured, the reward would be multiplied tenfold.

Each gang member involved who was captured would be rewarded with 1 point and 5 silver coins.

Such rewards undoubtedly caused a huge stir among the adventurers.

Many eyes gleamed with greed and desire. They knew that this was a rare opportunity, a chance to quickly accumulate wealth and fame.

The bounty was so generous that it was enough to drive many adventurers crazy.

Many shrewd adventurers focused their attention on the second reward. Although this reward seemed insignificant on the surface, its value depended entirely on the number of targets captured.

The gangs on the list had hundreds, if not thousands, of members.

This mechanism allowed many adventurers to see the possibility of quickly accumulating wealth.

For a time, the guild was buzzing with activity, and everyone was discussing it.

"Heavens, is the first day's quest this exciting?" a fledgling low-level adventurer exclaimed, incredulously.

"Tell me about it. I was worried that guild points would be hard to earn, but now it looks like we can rest assured," an experienced old adventurer sighed with relief, a relaxed smile on his face.

"Hey! Anyone want to team up and catch gang members together?" another adventurer said eagerly, eager to throw himself into this bounty quest.
