Reincarnated as a boss tyrant in the game
#188 - Zombies (Part 3)
The heavy infantry, having regained their footing, moved with somewhat stiff steps, yet resolutely towards the sound of their comrades.
“Roelin, you're alright, that's great! Come help!” a heavy infantryman shouted with joy, but before his words could fade, a chill ran down his back.
The heavy infantryman watched in horror as a longsword mercilessly pierced through his back and chest.
He looked down at the sword tip protruding from his chest, his face filled with disbelief and shock. He struggled to turn his head, wanting to see who had dealt the deadly blow, only to meet a pair of eyes glowing with a green light.
It was his comrade, a brother-in-arms who should have been fighting alongside him, but now those eyes were filled with savagery and cruelty.
The soldiers who had risen again seemed to be controlled by some evil force, their attacks becoming indiscriminate.
The Northwestern Army's heavy infantry, who had been fighting fiercely, looked at these risen soldiers. They were no longer their comrades, but dangerous enemies.
On the battlefield, companions who had been fighting together were now killing each other, a transformation that chilled the Royal Guard Knights to the bone.
Soren and his personal guards were stunned for a moment by this sudden turn of events, but they quickly recovered and entered battle mode.
The guards tightly surrounded Soren, forming an impenetrable defensive circle.
“Your Highness, be careful!” Hiltin shouted, while slashing his sword at an approaching zombie.
Soren's eyes were cold. He gripped his longsword tightly, his figure nimbly weaving through the zombie horde, each swing accurately severing a zombie's head.
Although these zombies moved stiffly, they possessed surprising strength and seemed impervious to pain.
Even when wounded, they continued to advance stubbornly.
Renn swung his great hammer, each blow smashing zombies to pieces.
These zombies seemed endless, constantly surging in from all directions.
The battle entered a fever pitch. The guards fought valiantly against the zombie onslaught, but they knew that this couldn't last.
These zombies seemed to be controlled by some force, not only were they numerous, but they were also tireless.
“We must find the source controlling these zombies!” Soren shouted, his eyes scanning the battlefield, trying to find the key to breaking this predicament.
In the heat of battle, Soren and his guards gradually discovered a weakness in the zombies: their heads. Only by destroying their heads could they be completely eliminated.
Therefore, the guards began to attack the zombies' heads with precision, each successful decapitation causing a zombie to fall forever.
Even with the discovery of the zombies' weakness, the battle remained arduous.
The number of zombies was simply too great. The Northwestern Army's heavy infantry, who had been fighting them, had long abandoned their weapons and fled. They could fight enemies, fight orcs, but faced with these unkillable monsters, they simply couldn't fight them.
These zombies attacked with savage ferocity.
There was a dark corner there, emanating an eerie aura.
He guessed that the source controlling the zombies might be there.
“Follow me!” Soren shouted, leading his guards towards that corner.
They fought their way through a bloody path, finally reaching the dark corner.
The night was as dark as ink, deep and thick.
In the dim moonlight, a figure clad in black robes stood silently, as if blending into the night.
In his hand, he held a crystal ball that shimmered with a ghostly blue light, seemingly containing some mysterious power.
His lips moved slightly, muttering incantations, his voice low and powerful, as if controlling the surrounding zombies.
It's him!
“It's you!” A cold shout broke the silence of the night, and Soren's figure shot towards the black-robed man like lightning.
His longsword flashed with a cold light, like a silver snake, drawing a sharp arc across the night sky.
A sly look flashed in the black-robed man's eyes. He snapped his fingers lightly, as if mocking Soren's charge.
Immediately, a huge bone gate appeared out of thin air, blocking Soren's path.
This bone gate was tall and eerie, pieced together from countless bones, as if it were an insurmountable barrier.
But Soren did not stop. He gripped his longsword tightly, using the momentum of his run to slam into the bone gate.
At this moment, his body seemed to possess inexhaustible power.
Bang!
With a loud crash, the bone gate collapsed instantly under Soren's impact, turning into rubble.
The black-robed man had taken the opportunity to escape Soren's attack range.
The black-robed man did not stop his evil plan. He transformed a large number of fallen soldiers into zombies.
This time, many of the zombies were imperial soldiers, their armor shimmering coldly in the moonlight, but their eyes had already lost their vitality.
Soren pursued relentlessly, but suddenly felt a chill.
He looked back and saw a lithe black figure moving freely through the zombie horde, and these zombies seemed to ignore him, not attacking.
It was Number Four from the Bloodtear Organization. He had been observing in the dark, looking for an opportunity to kill Soren with a single blow. Number Four approached Soren silently like a ghost.
The dagger in his hand gleamed coldly, like the fangs of a venomous snake, ready to strike a fatal blow at any moment.
The Endless Blade trembled slightly in Soren's hand, as if sensing the impending danger.
Suddenly, the Endless Blade swung to the right on its own, as if reminding Soren to be aware of the threat from the right.
But at this crucial moment, Number Four's dagger struck like lightning, hitting the sword's blade.
The powerful force instantly sent Soren flying. He tumbled several times in the air before crashing heavily to the ground.
Amidst the flying dust, Soren struggled to his feet. He felt a sharp pain in his chest, but what shocked him more was Number Four's assassination skills.
This opponent was clearly an extremely dangerous character, and he had to remain vigilant at all times.
Number Four did not attack immediately, but stood in place, watching Soren with cold eyes.
His gaze revealed a hunter's mockery and cruelty towards its prey, as if enjoying this cat-and-mouse game.
Hiltin and Renn were also entangled by unknown powerful eighth-order experts. Soren realized in an instant that this was a kill scheme designed specifically for him by the Bloodtear Organization.
Soren gripped the Endless Blade tightly and slowly approached Number Four.
He knew that the only person he could rely on at this time was himself.
Number Four held a black dagger in each hand and said lightly: “Today, you must die here.”
