Empress Dowager Afina was born into the Box family, the Empire's premier knightly house.

She bore one daughter and two sons: her eldest daughter, Sikarin, perished in the palace coup thirty years prior, at the young age of twenty-five. Her eldest son is Gustav, the Holy Emperor Prag III, and her youngest son is Prince Flores, the Prince Musa.

After Holy Emperor Prag III ascended the throne, he honored Afina as Empress Dowager. Empress Dowager Afina vigorously promoted her relatives, resulting in three members of the Box family being ennobled, solidifying the family's reputation as the Empire's foremost knightly house.

Gustav's ability to firmly hold the throne also owes much to Empress Dowager Afina's formidable personal strength and the protection of her family. She rescued Gustav from assassins on numerous occasions.

Event 1: When the Empress Consort passed away and unrest arose within the Empire, Empress Dowager Afina personally left the palace, leading the Royal National Guard Knight Order, along with two other semi-saint level powerhouses from her family, to patrol the capital for three days. This action deterred those lurking troublemakers. During this time, she also killed a noble, an eighth-order grand knight commander, with a single strike for attempting to incite chaos, shaking the imperial capital, Lokesa, with her might.
