Reincarnated As A Chameleon And Eating Everything To Evolve

Matthew's evolution was almost done as he had added almost all of the things he wanted to add and he also had scrolled through the list individually just in case there's anything else that might be useful that was undetected under his radar so far. And although he hadn't found anything else yet, he had already thought of adding two other things from the troll body parts list.

The first is the troll's teeth which looked strong and sturdy enough that they look capable of chewing bones properly into acceptable sizes. His current set of wolf teeth was actually capable of breaking normal bones since after each of his evolutions, his claws along with his teeth had also got an increase in strength. However, the problem was that the wolf's teeth were designed so that they could bite, tear, and chew meat. 

While Matthew was capable of chewing bones and his teeth wouldn't break if he did it, it would be a troublesome task for him. But when Matthew remembered the shape of the troll's teeth, Matthew noticed that the back part of their teeth was blocky with a wide surface and looked sturdy as a rock. 

'If I used it to crush the bones, the wide surface and the sturdy teeth structure would surely make the job far easier compared to using the pointy, sharp wolf's teeth.'

But there's one problem about that and that is the fact that Matthew's current head is a wolf's head. The troll's skull structure was more similar to a human's compared to Matthew's current one. With Matthew's current head, he had a long bone elongated in front of his skull with his snout as its tip and his teeth were shaped more like a cone shape that became slimmer the more it moved towards the front of his face. While the troll's teeth were arranged more horizontally to the side, which means that there's no way that the troll's teeth would be able to be fitted into Matthew's current jaws.

However, for the mighty system, it wasn't a major problem as Matthew only changed the back part of the wolf's teeth with the troll's wide-surfaced and sturdy molar, keeping the sharp canines and incisors of the wolf teeth at the front. The system made sure that the placement was correct and did minor size adjustments to make sure that Matthew's mouth would be able to close properly even with the big-sized teeth planted into his mouth. It only cost him a few tens of bionutrients to do, so Matthew didn't even bat an eye when he decided to add it.

Matthew then moved on to the next organ on the troll's list and it was actually the one organ that Matthew had wanted to replace his current one with. It was the troll's stomach.

Matthew had never figured out how the system magically fitted hundreds of kilograms worth of meat into his stomach since he could literally eat three boars or deer in just one sitting. It wasn't like he disliked his ability to eat so much before getting full since it will be easier for him to collect bionutrients the more he can fit into his stomach. And that's exactly the reason why he was interested in the troll's stomach.

When he first saw the troll's stomach that was literally bulging outward even when they weren't full, Matthew wondered how much food they could eat. 

The three kobolds that are currently living with him couldn't eat much even after they had become ȧduŀts and it made Matthew think that it was the norm for other creatures and he was the abnormal one, eating so many in one sitting. 

But he also remembered that one of the troll guards had said to the other that eating Matthew whole won't even make a dent in their stomach. Matthew didn't know they said that as a joke or as just a figure of speech when seeing that his body does indeed didn't have much meat in them. However, Matthew was hoping that what they were saying was indeed true since that would've meant that he could exponentially raise his stomach capacity from his current one.

His current stomach is still the same as any other chameleon and he doubts that a single chameleon could fit one bear inside their stomach casually like him. Even though he still didn't know how the system changed the meat into bionutrients, a simple logic such as the bigger his stomach is, the more he could fit more into it shouldn't be wrong. 

If he could fit more into his stomach that only means that he could collect more bionutrients easier than before since eating three deer won't be his daily limit and he could fit much more, with the troll's stomach that's certainly on a different level in terms of capacity compared to his current one.

While resizing the troll's huge stomach is still necessary so that Matthew would still have a proportional-looking body and didn't affect his body balance, it would still be an upgrade to his current stomach capacity.

Then with a few clicks and after nicely asking the system for help, Matthew now had a stomach that at least had twice the capacity of his original chameleon's stomach. Added with the system's magical way of fitting more things inside his stomach that also keeps on evolving and upgrading in terms of effectivity and the amount of food each time he evolves, Matthew's stomach capacity will be increased by leaps and bounds after he finished his fourth evolution.

Matthew had gone through the list of the beast's data once again, making sure he really had all the things that he had in mind added to his current body. If there are still a few things that he somehow missed even after careful checking and he only remembered it after the evolution is done, Matthew could only give a little flick to his own forehead and add them later in his fifth evolution in level 25. Which should not be too far away considering the levels he amassed so far, battling beasts above his levels while he was still level 20.

But as he was about to tell the system that he was done with the evolution, he suddenly remembered something.

He remembered back when he was only about to approach the troll village for the first time and defeated a level 22 snake, he got a notification saying that the Boa Dendroaspis monster data had just been updated. He had forgotten it for a while and forgot to ask about it to the system due to the small events in the troll village. But now that he had remembered it, Matthew didn't waste any time and asked the system right away.

'System, what does it mean back then when you said that the Boa Dendroaspis data has been updated?'

[It's pretty self-explanatory, the data that you had about the Boa Dendroaspis has been updated with new data after consuming the level 22 Boa Dendroaspis.]

Hearing this kind of answer from the system had finally reminded him about why he would sometimes feel hateful about the almighty system that had done miracles earlier in the process of adjusting the new upgrades and body parts that he decided to add to his body so that they could work properly and produced the wanted result that Matthew wanted them to do. However, Matthew was a lot more tolerant now and calmly asked,

'Can you please elaborate what is the newly added Boa Dendroaspis data?'

Fortunately, this time, the system didn't give a 'Isn't it obvious?' type of answer and proceed to explain to Matthew in detail about what the updated data meant.

[The initial Boa Dendroaspis data that the host had was from a level 18 Boa Dendroaspis that hadn't awaked its inherent aura ability and wasn't even able to use its aura ability yet. This means that with only the initial level 18 Boa Dendroaspis, the host wouldn't be able to use the snake's inherent aura element nor its species aura ability. But after the host had consumed a monster data of a level 22 Boa Dendroaspis snake that already unlocked its inherent ability and was able to use its species' aura ability, those limitations earlier were lifted from the host.]

'I see… I understand… Thank you syst-'

'WAIT!'

The system's explanation was actually quite understandable for him this time since he had fought both of the snakes and it's true that the level 22 snake is comparatively harder to fight with, with its ability to launch dark and purplish poison blob towards him. 

However, as always with Matthew's case, he had only realized the important part of what the system is trying to say to him after a few seconds of silence, digesting the system's sentence word by word.

He then recalled the last few lines the system said to him,

'After the host had consumed a monster data of a level 22 Boa Dendroaspis snake that already unlocked its inherent ability and was able to use its species' aura ability, those limitations earlier were lifted…' He muttered.

His eyes stared blankly into the darkroom in front of him, his heart beating faster as he realized what the system's words truly mean.

'System… Does this mean that not only could I use the snake's aura ability, but I could also use their inherent aura element…?' He asked quietly in his mind. As if he was afraid that if somebody found out about this ability of his, he would be beaten until black and blue due to how cheat-like the ability is.

Different from Matthew who seems to be shaken by the surprising fact that it had just been explained to him, the system only replied to Matthew with one simple word that made him feel beyond ecstatic.
