Chapter 110: Chapter 110 – Stats

Lady Hiliana and lady Perlin led them over to the carriage that was awaiting them. From the distance, it looked a simple black carriage, but as she walked close, she could see the details of it much clearer.

The carriage was elaborated decorated with crystals and a huge rose crest was painted on the side of it.

“Since we are going to your school, I didn’t want it to be too overbearing, so I decided with the simple one,” Perlin whispered gently patting her shoulders.

“It will do the job darling,” duke Lineti walked up from behind them. The twins also followed alongside dressed in black uniforms.

For a second, the duke’s eyes focused on her and at her attire. “Strange choice of attire, but if it what you like I have no say in it,”

“Thank you, I really feel comfortable in it. Plus it has pockets,” she happily placed her hand in the pockets.

Lady Perlin chuckled. “I’ll make sure to sew pockets in all your skirt snow get in dearies. We shall not be late for our first test.”

.....

Duke held out a hand and helped his wife up the high carriage. Next, he lifted both the boys up and placed them gently.

“Lady,” he whispered, holding out his hands to her. Feng mei hesitantly took his hand, climbed up the small step.

He helped lift Elle inside as well.

“Isn’t Alvin coming with us?” Feng glanced out he was nowhere to be seen.

“He is at his friend’s place. Besides, he has already enrolled at the school. Since we had work back home, he had taken a break for a while. I’ll make sure that he is with you kids on your orientation,” lady Hiliana said with a cheerful smile.

The duke got into the carriage and sat next to his wife.

Surprisingly, it fit all of them.
Elle was sitting to her right and Aiden was sitting to her left. Ethan was sitting with the duke and duchess.

He seemed more than content spending time with his new mother.

Feng smiled, looking at his cute face.

“Feng, I have heard that you have manifested as a time mage. I know of a renowned mage who specializes in that field. After you get selected, I want you to choose him as your mentor,” the duke suddenly said, snapping her out of her dazed state.

“We get to choose our own mentor?”

“yes, the students are all given an option to choose their own mentor. If they are confused with the choice, they are also given an option to stay with an mentor On a trial basis. But I don’t prefer this method. The first choice should be the best, so choose mage Harius when you are asked to.”

“Okay..” she nodded.

The duke hesitantly looked at her. “he might not seem like a great mage nor have the standing of one, but his knowledge in time mages is unprecedented. I hope it can be of help.”

“Okay. I’ll choose him.” Feng was more accepting of a dedicated teacher than a powerful haughty one. If this Harius guy is really as the duke said, she would be more than willing to accept his mentorship.

“Uncle, what is the first test...” Elle suddenly whispered in an unsure tone. “I’m scared I might fail the written part of it,”

The duke gave her a reassuring smile. “The first test will be the magic crystal. The ones with exceptional magic powers will be directly selected, as for the others; they might have to take a written test and an oral test. When you get your question papers, don’t get scared. Just read through it with an unagitated heart and start writing the answers you know of first. Late on you can take your time to get creative with your answers,”

This was the first time Feng had seen the due talk so much. All the while he had been very stoic and calm, but when it comes to the kids, he was much more vocal and loving.

This just proved that the storyline of the game was not always set in stone. Not all villains will be villains when they are given different options.

Destiny can change with circumstances.

Feng closed her eyes and summoned the game interface. The huge red system not9faction popped up. The game update was still at 25% not going up or going down.

‘Wonder what functions have been activated until now? Is there anything that is useful there? or is it still just that system that gives our shitty tasks? I hope not..’

She closed the interface and closed her eyes for a short nap.

She liked taking naps. It gave her a sense of peace and serenity. Something that she did not have in her previous life or when the stupid system was active.

“Meimei look!” Elle squealed, tugging at her hand.

Feng opened her eyes and glanced at what she was pointing at. The sight outside was spectacular. They were already in the city with so many people bustling all around.

The streets were filled with colorful shops selling portions, strange herbs, and many other magic devices.

There was also one such market that had a lot of cages with strange and weird creatures entrapped.

“What are those?” he pointed to the ones which looked like cat-like creatures but had long bunny-like ears. One of them looked directly at her with its blue reptilian-like eyes narrowed.

“That is a Level F Catspri. Its magic ability has been recorded to be the best when it comes to its sense of smell. Some lower-level mages used to hunt for....”

“For treasures below the level F...” Feng finished his sentence.

“Right.... how did you know that? I presume Alvin must have prepared you for your upcoming test...”

His words all buzzed through her ears. All she could think of was the bizarre thing that was happening right in front of her eyes.

The system notification popped up this time it had details of that beast.
