174 chapter 17Xia peered up at the thunderous sky and sighed. “The heaven is angry, but it doesn’t have to punish such innocent creatures,” he peered back at the twitching fishes.

As soon as he said this, water that had drained started to fill up miraculously.

‘Oh...oh... are my words so powerful?’ Xia thought in glee as he watched the fished swim away.

“Get the ores our now!!!!” Oli shouted, but the huge oars were firmly stuck inside the slushy mud.

Their ship was a modified version of the classical boat in which it had an extra layer of ores which can be rowed from below deck.

Now that it was firmly stuck in sand, the ship was slowly being submerged.

“Fucking hell,” Oli swiftly jumped down and started pulling each oar by himself. On the way, he threw a few humans back on deck and continued struggling with the oars.

Xia watched all this with his hands on his chin.

“What are you looking at?” a condescending voice screeched behind him.

.....

“Just this and that,” he mumbled nonchalantly.

Hua Jung pulled him by his shoulders and glared at him. “Don’t ever think about him...”

“Eh? You mean him?” he gestured to the Kirin who was working strenuously to free the boat. “My taste in men is spectacular, no thank you,” he said with a smirk.

Hua Jung gritted his teeth and suddenly slapped him. “Watch what you say! You are nothing but a prisoner here,” he said with a wide smirk.

On the other hand, Xia was completely stunned. No one had ever slapped him before, and that feeling was completely humiliating. Gritting his teeth, he glared up at him.

“What are you glaring at, huh? Was that painful.... I’ll tell you what is painful... watching your uncle and father being sucked into a flower... now that I’ve slapped you aren’t you going to do the same. Aren’t you going to turn me into a lotus flower as well,” he said with a sneer.

“....”

“What? you have no words.... oh, I forgot, you have your spiritual powers locked, no wonder. Or else I would have become a fucking flower too,” Hua Jung growled loudly.

Meanwhile, Xia kept glaring at him. ‘What the hell is this guys saying, what is this about turning into lotus... I obviously didn’t do it. Oh, I forgot that king Farah also mentioned something along the lines.... did I really turn people into flowers?’ he thought with a small frown.

“Why aren’t you answering me? You as a slave should answer to your master,” he slapped him once more.

Xia softly bit his lips, holding back the cuss words inside. ‘If I provoke him too much, he might hit me. and in my situation it would only end up hurting my baby,’ he slowly lowered head in a defeated position.

“That’s it. that is the look I was expecting. Next time you go glaring around, I will spoon your eyes out,” Hua Jung happily chuckled.
By this time, the water had already flowed inside the deck and most of the lower decks were flooded.

“I’m going to the other side,” Oli shouted and dashed to the left of the boat, freeing the ores there.

Xia curiously watched this with a smile in heart.

‘This bloody ship is sinking..... he-he this is my opportunity to escape,’ he glanced up at the retreating Hua Jung and shouted, “Yeah right were you expecting this,” he threw a surprise punch to his face.

???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????

Hua Jung froze. His strong light energy slowly surged around him, almost blinding Xia.

‘Now...’ Xia ran away and jumped into the ocean without looking back.

“GET HIM!!” Hua Jung’s loud shout was heard, but Xia was already underwater.

Water is his home. Even without his cultivation he was able to easily swim away from them. All this while he was sacred of the sharks below, but now that they all had swam away in fear the side of this sea was completely empty.

‘he-he, they thought they could contain me. In their dreams,’ he chuckled, letting out a stream of bubbles.

After getting a little further away from the boat he swam up the surface and took a deep breath. Swiftly he dove into the Blue Ocean. Beyond it was complexly black, almost as dark as his hair. Xia was scared to go deeper, so he swam close to the surface.

He swam until he was tired; then he would just aimlessly float around. He swam where the wind took him.

On the other side, Yukiya was facing a small party in her room. She woke up just a few minutes ago, but she was already showered with love and care.

The little egg had returned safely. She was ecstatic to see him again. Hugging him tight, she sobbed gently.

“How did you get him out?” she whispered, peeing up.

Long Ki stuttered. “This.... my .....helped me,” he mumbled inaudibly.

“Who helped?”

“My mother,” he said with a small smile.

Yukiya froze. “Your mother... like the one who tried to force us to marry and pushed you down the ledge. That mother?”

“Y-yes,” Long Ki nodded.

“Whoa, how did she get here?” Yukiya whispered, trying to keep her feelings in check. Her first impression of her mother-in-law was quite sketchy, but after having long Ki and her baby she kind of forgave her. If not for her, she would have missed such a wonderful man. “Where is she now?”

“She is up, if-if you do not wish to meet her, it’s okay. I can let her know kindly,”

“No! I will meet her,” Yukiya said resolutely.

She slowly got up with the egg still in hand and slowly walked up.

A beautiful woman dressed in an elaborate golden dress stood close to the ship’s end, watching the waves curiously. Just seeing her from afar, she could see who both her sons took after. All of a sudden she turned back and smirked at her innocently. “You are awake, little daughter,”

“y-yes,” Yukiya slowly walked closer. “Mother in law,’ she bowed deeply but her shoulders were caught and raised.

“There is no bowing in between family members daring. Come look out here. Let’s enjoy the fresh sea breeze,” she whispered and gently led her close to the edge.

Glancing down the blue water ocean parted ways to let their ship sail through. A few fishes happily swam in front of them as if they were raisin ahead.

Yukiya smirked. “It really is beautiful, but sadly I can’t enjoy this salty water,” she said with a sad look.

“Oh, now you can. Previously you fainted because the sea water was heavily contaminated, I just purified it so it should be good for almost thousand years or so,” Yin Long said cheerfully. “Is my grandchild enjoying this?” she gestured to the egg.

The egg immediately cooed, which surprised Yukiya immensely. “Did... he just make a sound?”

“Yeah, Mers coo and whistle when they are in their developing form,” Yin long softly spoke while caressing the egg’s slimy layer. “And they also need a lot of nutrients as well. Here feed him this,” she held out a small kelp parcel.

Curiously, Yukiya picked it up and opened it. Inside were few pearls. Seeing this, the egg happily jumped over and started touching each peals. Just as it touched it, the pearls dissolved and merged with him.

“What are these... these are not ordinary pearls...” Yukiya mumbled, picking one luminous pearl.

“They are Mers tears of happiness.” Yin Long softly whispered.

“What!!! Mers tears... how did you get a hold of these?” she whispered in shock.

“It was a gift,” Yin Long winked at her. “Do you know, every time a new Mer of royal blood is born, the school of Mers shed happy tears. These tears end up as food for the egg that helps them develop faster,” she whispered, glancing thoughtfully at the sea.

“I-I didn’t know that,” Yukiya mumbled, hugging her child tight.

“You were a late child because you were raised away from the school.” Yin Long suddenly said.

Yukiya peered at her with her eyes wide open. “What do you mean?”

“You..... You are a royal Mer Yukiya.”

“I don’t think I understand. I’m just a small koi, how can I be a royal Mer...?” Yukiya stuttered.

“Seven thousand years ago, your mother, Gillian, fell in love with a human cultivator she met. It was rather love at first sight, and I was there to witness it. Every day I helped her sneak out to meet her lover. And one day her mother, your grandmother, got to know,”

“Gillian was arranged to marry with the strongest warrior of their tribe, but she firmly refused. Her mother forced her, without any other option she eloped with him to a remote forest called Nevada,”

“There their love came to fruition, you were born, but sadly because you were far away from the tribe you remained an egg for many years more. Your father was a human with a small life span, so he left before her. And she.....my friend... she.. She passed away in grief before she could even meet you,”

“You a little egg was left all alone inside the dangerous forest,”

Yin Long peered at her. “I found you and locked your Mer genes, because Mers back then were considered a fine target for hunters. The seal inside of you kept you as a koi for a long time. But fate let us to meet again, you, the little Mer I used to know, had grown up into a beautiful woman,”

Yukiya softly gasped. “Is that why?”

“That was not the only reason, I saw your future with my son and I knew that it was your fate. But you were resisting, so I used a cheap trick and put that ring on both of you. Sorry about that,” she grimaced.
