Reincarnated to Bonk in Another World
Chapter 140 - Kindness
Bonk.
Bonk.
Bonk.
Albert continuously bonked the mother tree until its core was exposed. Since their mission had been accomplished, there was no need to keep it. Hence, Albert shattered it without hesitation.
The other dryads seemed to be struggling to take revenge, but they were defeated by his disciple and subordinates.
"This is the end…" Albert let out a long sigh. "To think it's this hard to fight against the dryad. If we didn't have a Horny Jail, we wouldn't be able to do anything."
"We could do it, but it'd be a bit too hard," Yale replied with a smile.
"Well, let's not work too hard. Overworking is bad." Albert chuckled.
"As expected of Teacher." Yale looked away. "Still, this is hard… How are we supposed to bring back all these druids?"
"That's true…" Albert nodded with a serious expression. "Though, we should bonk them first."
"Indeed." Yale nodded with a serious expression. Even though they had escaped from the tree spirits, they were still intoxicated, so it would be a waste if they didn't take advantage of this situation.
"Master, what's about morale?" Bepe asked while tilting his head. "They're unconscious, and the threat is no longer there."
"I simply want to claim an extra payment for rescuing them. After all, we have risked our lives for them."
"As expected of Master… Rescuing people is harder than killing them together with the tree, so we should get the payment."
Albert looked at the druids and gave Yale and the others a portion too, allowing them to level up.
This was indeed a good harvest, considering they had worked tirelessly in the past 40 hours.
Without them, they would have died.
After bonking them, Albert finally felt satisfied and said, "So, how should we bring them back?"
Looking at the unconscious druids, Yale said, "How about we split into two teams? We can inform the adventurer guild to fetch them for us."
Shella first scanned their bodies and confirmed that the bonk didn't injure them that much, so they would be fine after a long rest. After that, she said, "Won't there be someone so shameless to claim they bring these people themselves?"
"That's true. There was even someone that dared to look down on us previously, so it wouldn't be good to let them help." Irena nodded in agreement.
"How about using the Bonkbolt to carry them? We can use it to launch them straight." Jessie offered a solution.
"Hmm, but Bonkbolt can't be controlled continuously." Bepe shook his head, denying this possibility.
"There are 34 people here. Even if all of us bring two people each, it will be three round trips. It's going to take at least an hour. Also, it's not like we can leave them here without any protection." Albert looked down, pondering this matter.
"Is there no other way?"
"Yeah, I think we need the help of the Adventurer Guild."
Yale thought for a moment and said, "I guess we need several witnesses from the guild, making sure that no one can cheat us."
"Is the guild not corrupted?" Albert asked.
"I can't say for sure, but we have no choice. If they're corrupt, then it's fine. People's lives are more important than money." Yale smiled, answering him with Albert's own teaching.
Albert scratched the back of his head, wondering if he had become a bit more selfish after living in this world for two months. He couldn't help but shake his head, disappointed in himself.
He patted Yale's head and said with a smile. "Thank you, Yale. That's right. People's lives are more important than money. Your lives are important to other people and the latter are more important than money… I seem to have forgotten my own view."
"It's my job as your student to remember your teaching." Yale smiled.
"Alright. We will split the group. Yale and Bepe will come with me and bring a total of five people here. The rest will be protecting them for a while." Albert gave his order.
"Understood."
They agreed without hesitation and started marching back to the camp.
As soon as they came out of the forest, the adventurers and the guild's receptionists recognized them.
One of the receptionists approached them and asked in a panic. "What's wrong? Where are the others? Are they captured? Should we help you?"
His face was filled with concern that couldn't help but warm Albert up. It was alright for him to be selfish, but if he could, he should do good as much as possible.
Albert smiled and pointed at the forest. "There are 29 more bodies inside the forest. They're watching over them and we would like to ask for your help to bring their bodies back. After all, it's hard for us to do this at once."
"29 more bodies…" The receptionist's face became pale. "Don't tell me…"
"Yep. We have defeated the mother tree. That's why I would like to ask for your cooperation to help us bring the bodies back. Also, the situation was a bit weird, so I needed to investigate the area again.
"If possible, after this, my group can conduct another investigation inside the forest to prevent any more danger. If you have any doubt, just go to the brothel and say Albert asked for this. Will that be fine?"
"Of course." The receptionist nodded furiously.
"Alright. Let's go back to the tent and put them down first. After that, I'll lead you to their location."
"Understood."
The receptionist led him to the tent before organizing a few people to help with the transport. They even employed several adventurers since they couldn't bring all of them back in one go.
Albert then guided them through the forest until they met up with the rest.
The people were shocked when they saw so many splinters on the ground, including all the dead trees. Still, their attention was focused on the druids lying on the ground.
"Here they are. Please take them." Albert smiled as gently as possible.
Those who saw his smile couldn't help but feel moved. Not only was Albert strong, but he was also compassionate.
