Upon arriving at the gate two elven guards stopped me and asked "Stop, please show us your identification!"
"Identification?" I asked confused.
"Where you from?" one of the guards asked.
"A small unnamed village to the west of here, this is my first time away from the village" I informed the guard.
"Oh, then I will inform you, there two ways of providing your identity when traveling, a Guild Badge or identification papers which you can buy for a Silver Coin at the Lord's office at the center of the town," he informed me.
"Thanks for the information!" I thanked the guard.
He smiled and told me something else "Before you head in there is an annoying entrance fee the kingdom has travelers pay to enter the town, It is 10 Copper Coins so it's quite cheap, don't let anyone scam you and tell you its higher."
I thanked him and paid him 10 Bronze coins with a tip of 5 bronze coins. He thanked me as well and wished me luck.
I stepped into the city that most of the cities residents were elven with few other races, I saw a few humans, beastmen, and even some other types of elves such as Dark Elves and High Elves.
With a little over 100 Bronze Coins, I knew that I would need to get a job, and I certainly wasn't willing to buy the Identification papers, so I headed to the only guild in town, the Adventurer's Guild.
I got some directions from some wandering elves and found that the Adventurer's Guild is located north of town near the Lord's Office.
Upon entering the Guildhall I found that there were many adventurers sitting in there, drinking, talking, and surrounding a board full of different quests.
Most of them wore armor and had their weapons either sheathed by the side or strapped to their back.
I walked over to the counter and waited for a staff member. Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click #'s-guild_52837882850760131 for visiting.
Soon a girl in uniform stepped over and asked "Anything I can do for you today?"
"Uh...yes, can I sign up?" I asked.
"Sure, that will be 50 Bronze Coins, let me go get an examiner for you, please wait here," she told me as she walked away.
Soon she returned with a buff man following behind her.
"This is trainer Kye, he will spar with you in order to find out how strong you are and properly write down your ranking," The woman told me.
"Ranking?" I asked.
"Oh, all the guilds have a ranking, some use numbers, some use names, but we use letters, specifically F through SSS with SSS being some of the strongest people in the world and can be considered living Gods!" she informed me.
"Is there any such people at SSS in our Kingdom?" I asked.
"No, the strongest person in our kingdom is the Queen who is S-Rank," she told me.
She soon led me to a simple training room within the building and told me and Trainer Kye, "Okay, this is where you both will spar, Kye, please go easy on him, we got quite the scolding when you broke that young man's leg..."
Sweat began to trickle down my back as I heard her serious tone...
She soon left the room and Trainer Kye laughed and said "Don't worry, Kid. I will try to go easy on ya!"
That doesn't inspire any confidence in me...
I took in a deep breath as Trainer Kye handed me a wooden sword.
We stood on both sides of the room before we both nodded and charged at each other!
I swung the sword towards his c.h.e.s.t, but he simply moved to the side dodging my strike!
But before I could react he moved his target towards my legs!
BAM!
I fell to the ground as his sword swept me off my feet!
"Not bad, but your still only Rank-F," Trainer Kye told me as he helped me up to my feet.
We soon returned to the main part of the Guildhall where I was issued my Guild Badge.

Now that I am officially an Adventurer, it's time to get my first quest!
I walked over to the board and looked among the F-Ranked Quests which I could take due to my rank and selected an easy one.
[Hunt Down and bring back 5 Horns from Horned Rabbits]
[Rank: F]
[Reward: 25 Bronze Coins]
A pretty simple and easy quest, the only problem is that the rabbits can use their horns to fight back, but even a normal person can kill them easily.
