Return Of Aegis
Chapter 5 - Four
In the past expansion, ZeLin had come across a recipe for an evolving bow and returning arrows. He had gotten it very late in the game, he was way over leveled to use it. So he had kept it aside. At this stage, it would be the best weapon for his brother. Before the server shut for the expansion, he had copied down many recipes for weapons, armors and other accessories that they would need to gain an advantage.

Bow
10 wind attribute ore
50 silver cored steel ore
1 emerald gem
Arrow x10
10 wind attribute ore
10 steel ore
1 green sapphire
Character Name: ZeLin
Race: Dwarf
Level: 1 (0/100)
Title: Disruptor (All Stats +10%)
Stats:
Strength = 11 (15+1)
Dexterity = 4 (3+1)
Intelligence = 3 (2+1)
Luck = 1
Defense: 0
HP: 110/110
MP: 30/30
Checking his stats, he was weak, he knew he was. Any mutated wild beast on Mt Kin could one-hit him. To get medium graded ore or gems, he would need to be at least at the halfway point of the mountain. He could one-hit most normal beasts, but if he met any mutated or elite beasts, he would be finished.
Reaching the barracks, ZeLin sought out Captain Mir. "Captain, I require your assistance."
"Hi sir, pray tell, how I could be of service." greeted Captain Mir when he saw ZeLin walk in. His expression turned pale when he heard what ZeLin requested next.
"Captain, I need you to escort me to the valley near the peak of Mt Kin. Just keep me alive long enough to collect some ore and gems I require for my advancement quest." Although ZeLin had said it cheerily, he might as well had asked Mir to kill himself, looking at Mir's ever pale complexion.
Noticing Mir's pale expression turn to horror, ZeLin made an offer to placate Mir's worries. "Captain, don't worry. Let me enhance your equipment, in exchange if you feel satisfied with the upgrades, my payment would be you ensuring my safety on Mt Kin. How about it?"
Captain Mir thought to himself, if he could upgrade my equipment to at least Rare grade, I should be able to keep him alive. "Alright, if you can make my gear Rare grade, I will gladly lead a platoon to keep you safe. I have all the needed ore for enhancements."

"The captain sure is greedy!" thought ZeLin. When he first met Mir, he was clad in only uncommon tiered equipment. But he had no choice; he could not wait for adequately leveled players to start coming to Mt Kin for leveling. Even if they came, they would not party up with a level 1 dwarf.
Captain Mir got a few squires to transport his b.r.e.a.s.tplate, helmet and battleaxe and heaps of ore to ZeLin's tent.
ZeLin got to work right away, for enhancing equipment the game wasn't realistic. All he had to do was to place his hammer in the enhancing machine's slot, put the sacrificial ore in another slot and the item for enhancing in the leftmost slot; then all he had to do was start up the machine.
ZeLin set the machine to only save the equipment stats when it's rarity changed to from uncommon to rare.
Even with the buff from Eitri's hammer it still took him a good 2 hours to get all 3 pieces of Mir's gear to Rare grade.
Once done, ZeLin carried all of it and went back to Captain Mir. "Captain, your gear is ready." hollered ZeLin at the entrance of the barracks, too lazy to walk inside to look for Mir.
Captain Mir came out when he heard ZeLin calling him. "You're done already? Let me see!" Mir didn't believe ZeLin had already completed the task. Based of his knowledge, 1 piece of equipment to be enhanced to Rare grade would take a long time. "As agreed, I will assist you in your task, meet me at the North gate at dawn." said Captain Mir.
ZeLin was so focused that he didn't notice it was already nightfall. In the game, the time ratio was 10:1. 10 hours in-game equaled to 1 hour in reality. ZeLin logged out of the game, he wasn't going to wait 10 hours inside with nothing to do.
In Aegis, time flowed regardless if the player was in it or not. But players would receive exp buff to make up for lost time.
1. What happened to ZeLin and ZeRen? Who won? - 1,000,001 replies
2. Trash classes - 800,000 replies
3. Unofficial Ranking Charts - 749,979 replies
Quickly checking the first post, it was just a mess of replies from both guild's members, defending and flaming the other. Some sensible ones had said that the two of them had probably came to a draw or that the server had timed out before they could conclude the fight. Some even said that they had both quit the game, no one could find their IGN nor add them, not even the so called close friends. But those were unpopular replies and thus was very quickly drowned out.
The brothers didn't really have friends in the game, everyone was just leeching off them. Their real friends would only join them once preparations on their end were complete.
Next he checked the "Trash Classes" post, inside he found more information about the smith class. Hunting monsters would not gain them experience points, only materials. To level up, a smith needed to produce equipment. This caused many to hard reset their characters and start over. ZeLin was unfazed, if they had the hammer he had, they would not have reset their characters. Since ZeLin had received the inheritance, no one else could get Eitri's. Perhaps some lucky soul out there could get Vulcan's inheritance.
ZeLin skipped the 3rd post as it was pointless to be on unofficial charts. Only when your name appeared in official rankings, did corporations approach you for deals or advertising contracts.
