Rise of the Cosmic_Emperor

Chapter 727: Disparity In Levels. Part 1

When Phaedra glared at the trio of ladies now all had her level and all wielding their cultivation pressures and bloodline/Physique abilities like weapons, she let out the full might of her cultivational pressure, and everyone in Sapphire City felt it.

Such was the might of a transcendent beast and Phaedra was not yet making use of Ordinance.

She took her eyes off the trio only once to look back at Hal and smirk.

Hal understood that smirk.

Phaedra was basically telling him with that smirk of hers that she had no clear idea about who was higher in the hierarchy between him and the trio of lasted but she did not care because if any harm befell her, his companion was still held in the Devil Tribe.

Hal smiled behind his mask at how naive she was.

Sure he wasn't going to let her be killed or fatally injured but that had nothing to do with Sassy who he could be sure would be able to keep herself safe until his intervention.

That said, he was not going to do anything as the trio of Marla, Rita and Karmen saw this as an opportunity to test themselves against a Transcendent beast.

They surely needed the practice as they were likely to face Cosmic saints any time from now.

Plus, while he might be seeking an ally in the Devil tribe, he was not going to deny his people the opportunity to get a bit of justice on someone who had the guts to attempt to wreak havoc on their city... The perverse center of their faith.

Karmen who was in her Fiendish demon form had her hand tightly holding on to Executioner as she let out the full might of her fiendish demonic bloodline as she exuded the presence of the demon she'd been made by Hal, one that had long been separated from whatever influence Nihasa night have on it

She also made use of the Elemental Ordinance she had been able to gain insight into within the Monument of Ordinances... The Elemental Ordinance of Blood.

Maybe it was because she had spent a long time as a fiend that she developed an affinity for this Ordinance and maybe even before she met Hal, she had always had a love for this Elemental part of any cultivator's life.

Whatever the reason was, Karmen had accepted that she was now a wielder of the Blood Ordinance and she was quite excited to test it out in battle.

All these thoughts of hers only took about a second, a second which she had physically spent pulling Executioner back and then slashing diagonally to release a blast of fiendish red energy towards Phaedra.

Phaedra simply waved her hand towards the attack as she repelled it with her Transcendent beast energy and almost immediately after, she felt her body become weak right at the time Karmen got closer to her.

Not only did Phaedra feel herself becoming weak, but she also felt her body getting stiff... As though the body's liquids were gaining rigidity... The fluid in particular being blood.

You will be hard-pressed to find a creature that didn't possess blood and blood proved essential to the movement and life of any cultivator in the Nexus World and beyond. Whether that blood is divine or not is hardly the point and the principle remains the same.

Blood is fuel for the body of any cultivator and it is especially why the power wielded in bloodlines is usually even more regarded than their cultivation... It was why possessing a bloodline that surpassed mortal levels was essential to becoming a god... Blood is forever essential.

For certain cultures and clans, there were even techniques through which one could exchange their blood, exchange the power contained within their blood, to temporarily boost their strength at the risk of damning their future generations to not possess the power since it has already been exchanged.

To gain insight into the Ordinance of Blood is to be shown a tapestry of power that was essentially a tapestry connecting multiple races, and then have it pointed out that the chain that intricately connects them all is blood.

This vision, shown to those who gain insight into the Elemental Ordinance of Blood, causes them to be embroiled in the supremacy of blood and will reveal secrets to them the more they progress but this vision isn't entirely trustworthy...

In fact, it is mostly false especially when it tells them that Blood is the originator of life which was actually true the other way around.

The elemental Ordinance of blood is a derivative of the Abstract Ordinance of Life that is the true fuel that drives of all lifeforms and the true connecting factor of all living beings.

Anyway, if one was not corrupted with pride, they would still be able to appreciate the Elemental Ordinance of blood for what it was.

Karmen imposed her Ordinance on her opponent's blood and took away its power and fluidity.

Phaedra easily realized and was hardly worried as she was quite confident of being capable of breaking out of this funk.

That said, she did not break out fast enough to avoid getting punched by Rita who had closed the distance between them in the blink of an eye,

*BAM!*

The punch sent Phaedra spinning in the air towards Marla who was ready with her Armament and quite eager to smack the Devil woman as one would strike a baseball with a bat.

Phaedra had finally broken out of the influence Karmen had on her blood and easily dodged Marla's swing at the same time that Rita slammed her palms together.

Phaedra was just moving back with a smile on her face while preparing her counter-attack when she felt something invisible smack into her head and knock her to the side.

"Arrrghhh" she yelled in pain.

The hit she had experienced did not feel current... It did not feel like a presently occurring attack but rather seemed like memory and latent pain of a previously connected hit.

The cause was of course Rita who had slammed her palms together to activate the Ordinance she had gained insight into within the Monument of Ordinances... The Abstract Ordinance Of Destiny.

Unlike reality which was focused on warping presently occurring events, Destiny had the ability to shape a person's future but tweaking their past.

What Rita had done was to change Phaedra's future which involved escaping Marla's strike by interfering with past events and somehow making sure she got hit.

It was a disorienting feeling for Phaedra who clearly remembered dodging the attack and also vaguely remembered a parallel event where that was not the case.

Marla whose weapon now somehow spotted a barely visible sign that she had made contact with her target shook off whatever disorienting event that might want to take root in her head to follow up with another attack on Phaedra who was holding her head.

Phaedra had her head bowed and was grabbing hold of it while still groaning at the pain from the blunt force trauma when Marla flapped her dark feathered wings and thrust the spike of her weapon towards her opponent.

It was just for a split second... A split second before she succeeded with her hit and Marla saw Phaedra peek at her from behind her hands.

Phaedra smiled and then let her eyes show completely just so that Marla could see her wink.

Marla knew instinctively that there was a danger but there was no hope for an escape as she was quickly trapped by the energy that Phaedra was giving off.

There was a reason the trio of Rita, Karmen, and Marla were working together against this singular enemy and the reason was that all three of them were well aware that they could not possibly defeat her on their own.

The one who had the best chance at victory was Rita with her Insight into an Abstract Ordinance but even then, Victory would be very difficult, if not impossible if she were to be fighting on her own.

She was still only at the mid-stage of the Cosmic Aurora realm and that was a long way off from being on the level of a Cosmic Saint/Transcendent.

If she was that far off, you can imagine how much out of her depths Marla was as she was even lower in cultivation.

Phaedra knocked Marla's weapon out of her hand before she grabbed her by the collar and proceeded to deliver a series of blows to her face...

*BAM!*

*BAM!*

*BAM!*

The punishment would likely have continued if Marla had not made use of her Ordinance.

Marla had made her own choice to battle against a Transcendent beast realm expert and had been very aware of what she was facing...

Marla snuck her Ordinance of Darkness into the body of her opponent through direct contact and enjoyed the satisfying feeling that followed the rapid corrosion of her opponent's cosmic energy.

The corrosion was not going to last for long and it did not do too much damage on account of Phaedra being too strong but it did give Marla some wiggle room which she used to kick at her opponent's chest while boosting her strength to the maximum with the use of her physique.

*BAM!*

Right when she kicked Phaedra's chest, an attacking blast that combined fiendish energy with Cosmic energy was sent to Phaedra who tossed the kicking Marla to intercept the blast.

*Boom!*

Phaedra ignored the resulting explosion and focussed her attention on Rita.

Rita widened her eyes when Phaedra vanished to reappear behind her to punch towards her spine.

Rita intercepted the blow but that was of no consequence as she was rendered relatively powerless in the face of an attack from a Transcendent expert...

*BAM!*

*VOOOMMM!*

*BANG!!!*

So strong was the hit that it knocked Rita out of the air and into one of the buildings below which was immediately reduced to rubble...
