*FlashBack:

"A test?" said Emilia curiously.

"Yes, because two days from now we will assassinate the leader of the camp blocking our path, it will be a stealth mission," said Sasori.

"What about Dorian, are you going to test him too?" asked Emilia.

"What should I do?" she asked.

"Hahahaha! we only said to intervene if you are in danger" Laughed Dorian, and he throws Emilia her sword.

"Hmph! at least I got the core" she said, stabbed a raptor.

"You lost," said Sasori.

"See i... W-what?! but I got the core" Emilia felt like crying.

"Yes, after waking the whole pack and half the beasts in the area," he said.

Emilia didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

"It's all that stupid baby raptor fault!" she said

Sasori said nothing as he just body flickered behind a raptor and stabbed with his tanto, then he took control of a bunch raptors with his strings and made them attack the rest.

Dorian run through the battlefield dodging the claws and bites while touching the raptors with his hand, transforming them to dark creatures.

"And... That's the last one," said Dorian as he touched a raptor, watching it transform.

At the end of the battle, the whole pack was exterminated, from 90 raptors 50 died and the rest become dark creatures under the control of Dorian, to control 40 raptors, Dorian had to give up on all his previous dark creatures.

"let's move," said Sasori as he jumped on the back of a raptor.

"Sasori..." called Emilia.

"Yes?" he asked.

"C-can I help you guys in the raid two days from now?" said Emilia, as a proud warrior Emilia hated being seen as useless by her companions.

"No," Sasori said looking down at Emilia from the raptor's back.

"I..." Emilia wanted to say something, but looking at Sasori's cold eyes, she swallowed the words back.

"Emi..." Dorian said softly, he also noticed Emilia's flaw.

"I am going to meditate, don't disturb me," said Sasori before leaving.

Later that day Emilia was mediating, but her emotions were a mess, she kept remembering her interaction with Sasori, and images of her father looking at her with disappointment surfaced.

She clenched her hands until her nails pierced her palms.

"Your body is strong" Emilia turned around and found Sasori leaning against the wall.

"But your spirit is so fragile, it might break from just a touch," he said coldly.

"Your pride is useless, you lack confidence and you don't have the courage to admit your flaws," Sasori said coldly.

Emilia felt energy bolts hitting her every time Sasori finish a sentence.
