S-Class Dungeon's Mistress
Chapter 70
Chapter 70
Caladium had a similar thought, and his gloomy face had suddenly changed to a more energetic look.
“If you keep doing that, I will leave the house!”
“Then you will be very hungry!” Caladium stood with his arms crossed and put his thumb down. Of course, he was lying.
He had no intention of leaving the house, and he had no intention of threatening her regular absorption. He couldn’t because Adelaide’s health was at stake. He was just bluffing so that she’d soon realize how precious he was.
However, Adelaide had no way of knowing this. What would it be if it wasn’t a threat when said that he would leave the house on the day they promised to have her regular absorption? She would suffer if she had an empty stomach. He was right beside her and saw how much pain she had been in when she had an empty stomach.
‘How could you say that!’ Feelings of regret disappeared and anger rose.
Her pink eyes blazed towards Caladium.
‘Oops.’
Caladium then realized that something was wrong and trembled. In this case, a quick apology was the only way to survive.
“It was a joke, it was a joke. I’m not leaving. Really.”
“It’s my fault!” Caladium spat out words of repentance over and over again. He quickly knelt down to his knees. But it still wasn’t good enough to get rid of her anger.
“Go! Get out!”
Adelaide responded coldly. Caladium made an expression as if the sky had fallen.
‘Y-You really want me to leave? Really?’ He was so flustered that he couldn’t say anything. He was so shocked that he just had his eyes wide open.
“You are banned from returning to the dungeon today! Leave!”
At Adelaide’s command, Caladium held his chest. How fortunate he was that she only said ‘today’, a sigh of relief came out of his mouth. He had bickered with her many times before, but it was the first time he had ever felt this bad, so he sobered up real quick. If this could ease Adelaide’s feelings, this kind of punishment was nothing.
“Okay. So please don’t be mad at me, huh? Adela.”
“My Master.” Caladium whispered softly to her, rubbing his head with her hand like a cat. His red eyelashes shook as he looked up at Adelaide. He was trembling.
‘Do you get it now?’ This time Adelaide rolled her eyes. The words that she uttered out of anger were just lies and they were not sincere. But Caladium read her silence as an expression of anger, so he got up straight away, saying that he would leave quickly without further delay.
“While I’m out, I’ll do some reconnaissance and find out about the legendary adventurer, so the master must rest well.”
“No, wait…”
“I’ll be back!”
Caladium disappeared in the blink of an eye. The hand that was trying to stop him lingered awkwardly in the air.
‘It’s cold out there, so where are you going to sleep?’
Adelaide stared in the direction where he disappeared. She felt guilty and thought she had been too irritable. She was even more sorry when she remembered his pitiful figure as he fell asleep with fallen leaves as a blanket.
“Why didn’t you make it a week?”
Lisianthus, who was quietly watching the fight, said as if he was disappointed. Unlike Adelaide and Caladium, who only made hasty threats, he was very sincere.
Adelaide replied with an awkward smile. If Caladium didn’t come back for a week, Adelaide would not be able to eat his energy, she would be in trouble.
‘Come to think of it, today’s regular meal is out of the question.’
Adelaide clicked her tongue. By talking nonsense, she had to suffer from hunger even longer.
‘Well, I can survive for a day or so.’
She tried to gauge the amount of energy that remained in her body. It looked like she could hold up well until tomorrow. In the first place, the reason she decided to do regular absorption today was because Caladium urged her to do it.
Reassured, Adelaide lifted her head and looked at Lisianthus. Somehow, the top of his head was empty, and when she stared, she couldn’t see the silver horns any longer. It seemed that he had hidden his horns again while she was fighting with Caladium.
Come to think of it, she was talking to Lisianthus. She forgot for a moment due to her quarrel with Caladium. She opened her mouth cautiously, embarrassed by the fact that she was so engrossed in their fight that Adelaide didn’t even notice his horns were gone.
“Hey, Lisian.”
“Yes, Adele.”
“I have another question…”
She looked at Lisianthus for a moment. After they had a proper conversation, her awkward feelings subsided, but they didn’t go away. Unlike Caladium, he was elegant and dignified, he truly felt like a ‘devil’, so she couldn’t be comfortable with him.
“Really, nothing has changed?”
It was a question that came out of nowhere even if she thought of it herself, so Adelaide quickly added.
“So I mean… Will Lisianthus really stay the way you used to be? I wonder if you will continue your role as a manager.”
“It will stay the same… But it also won’t.”
Lisianthus answered without hesitation. He could roughly guess what she was worried about.
“I will continue to do the cooking, cleaning, and various maintenance that I have been in charge of so far. But, as I said, I want to be more helpful to Master… Now, I’m going to put in more effort.”
What effort? Adelaide tilted her head. Just as she was about to reply that Lisianthus had already worked hard enough for Greenville, the dungeon suddenly began to shake. Adelaide, startled, pressed her body against Lisanthus who was close to her.
[Greenville Dungeon. Current level E-3]
A loud beep sounded. Adelaide finally understood the situation and smiled broadly. Finally, the Skeletons have killed all the warriors. The rank did not increase when there were still adventurers in the dungeon, so now, all the adventurers must be dead.
How many kills did we get? Adelaide’s eyes twinkled with anticipation.
[The dungeon’s rank will increase.]
[The reward will be paid together.]
She clenched her fists. One more time, one more time! Her plump lips moved.
[The dungeon’s rank will increase.]
[The reward will be paid together.]
More! Go higher! Now Adelaide’s eyes were almost popping out.
The notification sound stopped. She couldn’t contain her disappointment and raised her eyebrows pitifully. Shortly thereafter, the dry voice resounded again.
[The dungeon’s rank will increase.]
[The dungeon level has been raised to D-5, and a special reward will be provided.]
“Hurray!”
Adelaide couldn’t contain her joy and let out her cheers. Poor Caladium had long been forgotten. She took Lisianthus’ hand and shook it. Lisianthus laughed as if he found her so cute.
“We are now D-Class! D-Class!”
“Congratulations, Adele.”
“Yes! Congratulations to Lisian too!”
Adelaide replied with a broad smile. She has risen three levels! Exciting!
But the happiness that filled her face did not last long. It was because a familiar sensation came again and enveloped her whole body. Adelaide’s body froze and she exhaled harsh breath.
“Ugh…!”
A hot breath warmed her throat. Blood rushed to her head. Her vision spun, unable to focus.
“Adele?”
Lisianthus carefully grabbed her shoulder. As if that signaled her, she fell to the floor.
“Adele!”
She was able to avoid hitting her head on the floor thanks to him catching her. But there was no way to escape the terrible pain of burning in her body.
She had an ‘empty stomach’.
As the dungeon class went up, the amount of energy required had increased significantly.
‘Why now of all times…!’
After all, there was no Caladium. Adelaide bit her lower lip. Her lips tore and blood oozed out, but she couldn’t feel it. The pain of hunger was excruciating. It hurt so much that she couldn’t even groan.
It was a mistake to not have expected that the dungeon rating would go up three levels. She was afraid to take his energy before the grade went up, but now she realized it was so st*pid that she forgot and sent him away.
Adelaide let out a hot breath and clenched her fists. As her claws began to dig into her palms, long fingers slid through them. It was Lisianthus’ hand.
“Adele, Master.”
“Li…sian…”
Adelaide struggled to open her mouth. If the empty stomach continued, she might lose her reason. Even if it wasn’t that bad yet, in order to get out of her pain quickly, she had to absorb energy as quickly as possible.
“Caladi, haa, call him…”
With a shaky vision, she could see Lisianthus’ pretty forehead wrinkle. The dazzling gold pupils somehow distorted.
“…Excuse me.”
‘Yes, call him now!’ Adelaide cried to herself.
But contrary to her prediction that he would disappear from her sight in an instant, Lisianthus came closer to her. The reason was revealed within a few seconds.
Chu.
Something soft touched her lips.
Adelaide blinked blankly, even in pain. She couldn’t believe what had happened.
The beautiful face of Lisianthus filled her vision. As their eyes met, his eyelashes fluttered in satisfaction.
Then again, their lips overlapped. This time a little bit more certain than the one before. Soft flesh tickled her lips and stole her breath.
“What…!”
Adelaide, who realized her situation too late, hurriedly stretched out her hand and pushed Lisianthus away. He gently moved his body away as she intended.
‘I just kissed Lisianthus. I kissed the nice, sweet, and beautiful manager of the Greenville Dungeon!’
Adelaide was so confused that she could not wrap her mind around it at all. Her cheeks turned red in embarrassment. Lisianthus, who was actually working, had a calm face as if there was nothing wrong.
“Lisian, why…!”
“Master, you must eat properly.”
“The energy is not being absorbed and is dispersing.” Lisianthus whispered in a low voice. The corners of his lips, which were slightly curved upwards, looked very sultry.
Regular absorption. Yes, he did this because of regular consumption. Lisian, unlike Caladi, was quick-witted, so he knew right away that she suffered from an empty stomach.
Adelaide agreed. But knowing and being ashamed were two different things. No matter how thick-skinned she was, wasn’t it too much to eat his energy while interacting with two devils in one dungeon? It was not a buffet where you choose which food to eat for dinner.
“I’m fine. When you call Caladi…”
“Have I not always been responsible for the Master’s meals?”
Lisianthus added, out of the blue. As Adelaide frowned in pain, he continued to speak with a grin.
“From now on, I want to take responsibility for this meal as well.”
“Didn’t I say I would try harder?” He claimed that he would nourish her with an elegant face.
***
T/N: Okay, so I know that in earlier chapters, I translated it as Lisianthus referring to himself as her brother (I wasn’t sure at the time) but what he said was that he’s her ‘Oppa’ and as most of you may already know, ‘Oppa’ means older brother but can also be used by a girl as an affectionate term towards an older guy and they do not necessarily have to be blood-related. He was most likely relating this to him being a supposed incubus which is I guess a somewhat brother to a succubus?
