S-Class Dungeon's Mistress
Chapter 86
Chapter 86
“Didn’t I say it’d be different?” Caladium grinned and stared at the warrior.
Five minutes had passed since the warrior attacked, so he knew it was time for Lisianthus to arrive. That was why he was so confident even in this dangerous situation.
It was a shame to have to lean on that manager punk, but no matter how Caladium bluffed, he was not ignorant of reality. The warrior in front of him was a mixture of a demon and a human. He was a man who not only used the power of warriors, but also the power of demons.
Caladium was in a tight spot having to fight the warrior as he also had to protect Adelaide and the other demons from getting hurt.
But if they had Lisianthus, they had nothing to worry about. If the two strong devils joined forces together, they would be able to face the legendary warrior as well as other demon lords.
‘Together’ with that b*stard, ‘to join forces.’ Caladium frowned.
Even though it was unavoidable, the disgust did not go away. Caladium groaned briefly as he felt bile rising.
Meanwhile, Adelaide looked at Lisianthus with a dazed face. Whether it was because she had gone through so many things at once, or because she had missed him so deeply, she couldn’t believe he was right there in front of her eyes. All of this just seemed like a dream.
“…You are hurt.”
Lisianthus sighed and ran his gloved hand gently across Adelaide’s face.
Adelaide shuddered involuntarily as his long fingers brushed her lips. Red blood splattered over his white gloves. She didn’t realize it because it was so crazy, but it must have been that her lip burst when the warrior kissed her forcibly earlier.
Soon Lisianthus’ face turned dark to a terrifying level. The neat eyebrows twisted, and the golden pupils in the sharp eyes shook wildly. She could almost hear him grinding his teeth.
“Did he do this?” He asked, sweeping her face slowly.
His hand was so soft that it didn’t hurt at all, but his voice that asked the question was brutal.
Adelaide did not even dare to open her lips, and just nodded slowly. There were so many things she wanted to say yet nothing came out of her mouth.
“… Just wait a little, Adele. Let’s talk about it after we deal with that f*cker.”
Lisianthus said with a slight smile on his face that was contorted in anger. He took off his coat and draped it over her shoulders.
As a gentle warmth enveloped her, Adelaide realized that the manager of the Greenville Dungeon she had longed for had really returned.
‘It’s really okay now. We can go back to our original comfortable life.’ A feeling of relief swelled in her chest.
“Adelaide, come here!”
“Where are you hurt? Heal her quickly…”
Her demons quickly grabbed Adelaide and dragged her behind them. Bell licked her hand and wagged his tail, and Pia hurriedly scanned her wounds.
Lisianthus and Caladium firmly blocked the front of the demons.
The warrior suddenly appeared and stared intently at Lisianthus who had joined the fight.
His face was still expressionless, but his gaze was fierce. His eyes showed that he wanted to tear Lisianthus to death right at that moment.
“You look happy.”
The warrior’s gaze shifted from Lisianthus to Adelaide. The voice that followed was full of unexplainable resentment.
“Since that day, I haven’t been happy for a single moment.”
Adelaide met his gaze and froze.
‘That day?’
As the memories of the past were about to rise again, Caladium’s large body covered Adelaide, blocking his gaze.
“Don’t look at her, you punk. You’ll wear my Adela down.”
Caladium warned with a firm voice.
At his interruption, the warrior’s face grew even more ferocious. Soon, an enormous amount of energy flowed around them, and the entire dungeon vibrated.
The demons of Greenville reflexively closed their eyes.
If it was the energy of the warrior she had already experienced, she felt like her body would melt just by touching it from this distance.
She shuddered.
But contrary to what she thought, she didn’t feel anything. She had no problems breathing either. Thanks to the barrier that Lisianthus had made around her and her demons.
“I’m telling you in advance, but I’m not cooperating because I like you. Don’t get me wrong.”
Caladium made a crooked face and said to Lisianthus.
All of a sudden, he was fully prepared for battle. His fiery hair fell upon his strong muscles and his horn grew longer again.
The demons who saw the flapping wings behind his back exclaimed. Adelaide could not hide her surprise as it was the first time she had seen him like this.
“That’s what I was going to say.”
Lisianthus snorted back in reply.
He was also dissatisfied with joining forces with Caladium. However, his anger at the warrior who dared to touch Adelaide far surpassed the displeasure.
Mysterious silver horns grew over Lisianthus’ head. Behind his back, black wings flapped like they were alive. Indeed, a devil was different from normal demons, his wings became as large as that of Caladium’s. With an indifferent face, he summoned a thin sword and grabbed it.
The energy of the two devils did not penetrate Lisianthus’ barrier.
For the first time, demons belonging to Greenville Dungeon were able to stand and watch them without being crushed by the devils’ magic.
“Wow…”
One Durahan muttered in admiration. He tried to keep his mouth shut, but he couldn’t hold it in. Needless to say, the sight of the two devils standing proudly with their wings outstretched was more splendid, majestic, and beautiful than anything he had ever seen. Just looking at their backs was enough to bring goosebumps out of his skin.
And without more admiration, the battle finally began.
Bang! Kwagwang!
“Oh!”
Colorful lights flashed, and a deafening roar filled the dungeon. Due to the shock transmitted through the barrier, the demons were unable to focus and sank to the floor.
Two skeletons eventually passed out, and Bell could not maintain his large body and turned back into a small puppy.
Adelaide laboriously lifted her head and watched the battle unfolding a few steps in front of her. Even though she had become quite strong, she could not keep up with the flow of battle. Part of Caladium could be seen midway through the blazing flames, but that was all. It was impossible to ascertain who was where.
However, she was sure that it was their victory just by looking at the splendidly flashing energy from Lisianthus and Caladium’s flames blazing without even the slightest sign of being extinguished.
Even if he was the Legend, it was natural that he would not be able to face two devils with one arm missing.
Lisianthus and Caladium currently had the upper hand. Surprisingly, their breathing matched perfectly as if they had practiced for a long time.
If there was an area that Lisianthus couldn’t take care of, Caladium would’ve identified it and would get there in advance. Likewise, if Caladium showed a gap after attacking with a wide range, Lisianthus quickly drove the warrior and blocked the danger.
They perfectly understood each other as they kept each other in check through several fights without Adelaide’s knowledge. They might have an opportunity to kill each other one day, but what they knew in advance was used in a different direction from what they expected.
‘Tch, I feel dirty.’ Caladium frowned.
It was rather uncomfortable because they worked together so well, like breathing.
Lisianthus also thought the same, so his expression was not very good. In the midst of that, it was like an instinct to make up for each other’s shortcomings and link their attacks as smooth as flowing water.
The battle continued in the middle of the flashing lights. The reason the battle was prolonged even though the superiority of power was clear was that the purpose of Lisianthus was more than victory.
“Do not kill him, aim to capture.”
Lisianthus ordered as he passed by Caladium’s vicinity .
“I know.”
F*ck, why in the world do you see me as an id*ot? Caladium grumbled.
The greatest weapon the warrior had was that he could come back to life even if he lost his arm or even his life. Even if he came back alive, it would be enough to kill him the same way, however, it will complicate things in many ways.
Not knowing when and how they might get attacked was obviously going to be a big obstacle as they managed the dungeon. Moreover, even a small, unpredictable mistake may cause injury or death to someone on the team.
To prevent this, the warrior had to be captured alive. It was best to cut off his tongue and limbs, tie them up tightly, and keep him from dying.
However, it was very tricky trying to capture the legendary warrior without killing him. Lisianthus and Caladium concentrated their minds on the battle, as even a slight loss of concentration could make things go wrong.
Kwaang!
Their energies collided again, and the wall came crashing down.
The warrior, who jumped up to dodge Caladium’s attack with a relaxed gesture like a butterfly, stood on the crumbling rubble and slowly closed his eyes.
Seeing this, Caladium hurriedly opened his mouth.
“Power!”
He had acted like that when he used the power that Caladium had been subjected to while they fought in the living room. Caladium, who did not know that the warrior was of mixed race, passed out helplessly, which put Adelaide in danger.
But now it was different.
Caladium wasn’t stupid enough to get hit in the same way again.
The flame wall rose high, blocking the warrior’s energy.
Lisianthus also quickly grasped the situation at Caladium’s words and put on a protective barrier. Thanks to this, the power of the warrior did not reach them and dissipated.
But it wasn’t just power that disappeared.
“What the hell.” Caladium opened his eyes wide and hurriedly looked around him.
Lisianthus also narrowed his eyes and followed the warrior’s energy.
The warrior had suddenly disappeared. Evading the devils’ eyes.
It didn’t take long for the bewildered devils to find him.
“Adela.”
The warrior, who had suddenly reached the barrier that surrounded Adelaide, spoke with a cold voice.
Adelaide stared at him with trembling eyes. His unrealistically handsome face was the same as before except for the scars, but there was one major difference: his hair color.
“Next time, for sure.”
Blonde hair resembling the morning sunlight fluttered in front of her eyes.
In an instant, a brightly smiling child’s face was superimposed on his beautiful face. Although their expressions were so different, there was no sense of incongruity.
“Remember me.”
With those words, the warrior’s head was separated from his neck. His handsome face fell to the floor, revealing Caladium’s angry face beyond where his neck was.
Adelaide’s vision gradually flickered with the sound of something rolling on the cold floor. After hearing her name being called for the last time, she lost consciousness.
