As oblivious as Adrian was, looking at that glint in Odette's eyes gave him a feeling that Odette was exhilarated right now. Therefore, the fright he felt was reducing further.

Hearing the knob of the door being messed with, Odette faced the child and instructed, "Remember what I have mentioned previously. You are not allowed to move from this spot unless I order you to. If you take a step forward, I will leave you here and go home on my own."

Odette did not have a clue why she was repeatedly warning him, and at the end, she decided that it would be a pity to her plans if he got injured here. Moreover, he would be a burden to her in that way.

Adrian's eyes widened due to horror at her warning, and he softly said, "I will listen to what you say. I will not even move a step."

Immediately as the door opened, she took the person by surprise by stabbing the sharp edge of the blade through his hand. Not expecting that, the man let out shout.

Not liking how it sounded, creases appeared between both of her eyebrows, and she decided to finish the man off in the next blow.

Before the man was able to put up his defense and attack her, she pierced the knife through his ċhėst and pulled it back. After that, she jumped back a few steps while the man fell on the ground, clutching his ċhėst.

Odette was disappointed at how easy it was. It did not take long for the man to take his last breath after cursing at her.

The noises alerted the people outside. Odette glanced at Adrian. There was no expression on Adrian's face. He merely stared at her with those clear eyes of his, and she was curious about what was going through that mind of his.

Nonetheless, this wasn't the moment for her to wonder about that, and without a second thought, she made her way out of the room.

Adrian, on the other hand, just stared at Odette's back. He did not care about the death due to how worried he was about Odette. Knowing how scary the kidnappers could be from his experience, he just hoped that Odette would be alright.

He wanted to help Odette deal with it, but he was frightened. Just staring at those men caused him to shudder and brought back bad memories in his head.

Even if Odette did not threaten him, he still wouldn't have the courage to face them, and as the realization dawned upon the child, he started to loath himself for being like this.
