Adrian didn't guess wrong with that. Odette indeed felt moody due to Adrian's actions and the need to punish him overcame her.

There were many things that disturbed her. She hated how Adrian went against her and forced her; it was as if he knew how to use her weak spot.

There was a sensation of things going out of control, and this made her lose her temper upon Adrian. The fact that his life was the reason she felt threatened intensified her emotions.

To Odette, the matter of being poisoned was didn't have any affect over all.

"You aren't dense," Odette responded.

"I am sorry, Lady Odette," he expressed, "My actions earlier might have offended you, and I was indeed acting out of my position while being clueless.

But I still had to do that. If I created any problems for you, I don't mind being held responsible for that."

As if she had heard something amusing, Odette chuckled and raised one of her eyebrows, questioning, "Would you be able to compensate if anything went wrong?"

"That's a shame," Adrian simply replied.

Honestly, he wasn't apologetic about stopping her, but of course, there would be guilt eating him up if things turned out negatively due to consequences of this.

The emotions he felt right now were too contradictory, and he knew he was being too arrogant in his actions. Even his life wasn't of any value.

Odette laughed and spoke out, "I am not that vulnerable. With that review on the book written by tonight, you will be done paying off due consequences. Of course, you are being spared easily, seeing this is your first offense."

A threatening look was in her eyes while those words left her mouth.

Adrian wasn't shaken by that as he nervously inquired, "Lady Odette, you won't be drinking it anymore, right?"

She had already tortured the boy enough today and decided to not tease him for she answered, "It would humiliate me if I do so."

With that, Odette left Adrian in his own room before heading to her chambers. A displeased expression sat on her face as various thoughts ran through her mind.

Wanting to remain clueless to them, she tried hardest to remove them off.

The next day as Odette was being dressed, a maid entered into the room following her knocks. The incident from yesterday instilled further fear on to everyone, and no one dared to breathe in Odette's presence.

Odette killed off one of her mother's precious maids; it would have been a surprise if her mother didn't come personally to meet her.

Rather than caring about the maid, her mother was mostly here on behalf of her lost face and how things went out of her control.

Odette's disobedience was out of her mother's control after all.

Odette truly wanted to save the best for the last with her mother and seeing how her mother at least cared for her— even though it was for her own selfishness— over these years.

However, now that the situation has come to this, there was no helping it.

A leisurely expression sat on Odette's face as she responded, "Oh! Bring Adrian over there as well."

"Yes, Lady Odette." The maid obediently followed through her orders.
