Second Chance - To Live Again

"Yo...u idiot!" she muttered. "Doc..t...or, call the doctor!" Yun Xi gritted her teeth trying to withhold the torturing pain on her face. "Don't worry, I have instructed my men to call him." as soon as Lu Ting spoke, a man walked inside the room. The man was appalled of what he saw.

"Doctor, here!" Gui Jin who was sitting at the edge of the bed gestured the doctor to check on Yun Xi. Doctor Chen immediately sobered and rushed to Yun Xi's side.

"What the hell happened?" He asked while calmly observing the bruises in Yun Xi's face. Gui Jin ignored him completely. There was a tint of astonishment appeared in his eyes as he attentively observed Fu Yixiao sleeping face. "Can someone please explain the situation here?" Doctor Chen rephrased his question. He was no longer looking at Yun Xi but at the chubbier man who was keenly watching him applying for the medicine in YunXi's face. Lu Ting startled, awaken from her entranced. He quickly explained the whole story to the doctor. Gui Jin glared at the old man feeling unsatisfied. Lu Ting was giving all his attention to Yun Xi as if no one else was inside the room.

"Doctor, please check on this girl as well? she was tortured by the mad woman's underlings earlier." Gui Jin requested. Doctor Chen nodded. He made a thorough check-up and sighed. "She is fine."

"Doctor?" Yun Xi asked, requesting for affirmation.

"Caretaker Yun, everybody... as her doctor, I want to apologize. Miss Fu Yixiao has recovered from her illness, however, for her unconsciousness, I'm afraid to say that I have no answer." an etched expression appeared on Lu Ting's face when he asked, "Doctor, what do you mean? "

"If she doesn't regain her consciousness tonight, I'm afraid she will stay in this state forever."

Yun Xi and Lu Ting face dropped as they felt an unexplainable agony in their soul.

Gui Jin punched the wall as he let his sight fall into the sleeping girl. There was something tugging his heart as if he was afraid he would lose something valuable. Lu Yiantao who was restrained by Lu Ting's men suddenly let out a sinister laugh. Her eyes lit up. "Father, now that she is about to die, isn't it right for me to inherit your inheritance? huh?"

"Lu Yiantao! you... you evil woman. What kind of mother are you? cursing your own daughter?" Lu Ting wrapped his face and tugged his hair. He was infuriated. Her daughter was his darling when she was young. However, everything changed after she got married to Fu's family. She became a puppet that followed every word her husband said to her.

She schemed against her own daughter and successfully separated the two. Over time, her husband started to hate his daughter as well. When the Lu got a hand on the matter, they officially close all ties with Lu Yiantao and the Fu's family. Earlier this year, Lu Ting had announced that he already selected Fu Yixiao as his successor. This news probably reached the ears of Lu Yiantao and the Fu family which triggered their evil, sinister plan to rob the inheritance from Fu Yixiao.

"Father... aha, I forgot. You already disown me. Hahaha!"

"Mr. Lu now that my daughter is about to die, isn't it only right for her mother to handle the inheritance?"

"Besides, I believe you are about to die as well? who in the Lu family able to handle such a huge responsibility? no one right? you should be grateful that I'm offering myself."

Lu Yiantao finished her sentence with a satisfying smile. She straightened her position trying to give the aura of a reliable person. She didn't realize that a pair of eyes were staring at her killing every inch of her body.

"Lu Yiantao, the inheritance will never be yours." Lu Ting said. "No matter what will happen in the future, that inheritance will never be yours." He said firmly.

Lu Yiantao staggered. Her mouth agape. She clenched her fist. She looked at all the persons available in the room and finally her eyes fixed on Fu Yixiao. "I see..." she said. "Then, I'll walk myself out." She added looking at the man who was holding her, begging to be released.

"Release her!" Lu Ting instructed. The man nodded and loosened his grip.

Lu Yiantao sighed, a feeling of relieved flashed in her face. All of a sudden, she ran towards Fu Yixiao: her right hand was holding a scissor. She ran with all her power, she was only thinking of stabbing the scissor deep at the girl's throat. If I couldn't have the inheritance, then, no one else will!

"Young Miss!!!" Yunxi.

"Gui Jin! stop her!" Lu Ting screamed.
