Second Life: Welcome to Gaia

At 6 p.m. the four friends started to log in to the game. Each of them appeared in a different location of the city and walked in the direction of the East Gate. Ye Yan had log out from the game at the East Gate and would have to wait for them to arrive so he decided to look at the nearby shops to see if there is something useful that he could buy with his 50 coopers.

There were many stalls on both sides of the street, some with a better aspect them the others. Most of the items being sold were cosmetics and didn't give a bonus in stats, not even defense, but all of them were priced more than 1 silver. Some stalls were selling a variety of delicious-looking food that would make his friend drooling. Ye Yan was taking his time looking over everything until he saw something that made him look green and his legs wobbly.

The most traumatic thing that happened in his life was when he becomes five years old and his fathers thought him big enough to start eating some 'manly' foods. So every damn week his parents took him to eat some delicacy that consists of bugs of various types. Both his parents eat it without any problem but Ye Yan always thought that it was disgusting to the extreme. They were always saying that it was good for health and was rich in protein and nutritious. But for Ye Yan, he was just eating cicada, crickets, and fucking cockroaches. After two whole months of these tortures, Ye Yan becomes broken and ill. He didn't even want to leave his bed anymore. When his parents found out what caused him to became like that, they become remorseful and never forced him to it those bugs again, but it was too late because the trauma hadn't left him until now. Every time he sees something disgusting he feels like throwing up and that's why he is having a hard time at the beginning of his time in the game. Others thought of him as a little unmanly when they found about his weakness, but that's because or they never had to eat a damn cockroach in their lives, or are used to eating it. In the latter case, he only feels pit. He vows to himself that he would never marry someone that likes to eat those disgusting things.

The Adventures' Guild quest available to level 1 players consist of killing crookroaches and silkworms. The monster crookroach that can be found in the sewer is definitively the damn cockroach, the most hateful of the bugs. Ye Yan decided to take the [Colect Soft Silk] quest because he thought that maybe he could get some from his friends because they know of his problems and he always helped them in games before.

Ye Yan went back to the gate and waited for his friends while trying to calm his stomach and it didn't take long for them to begin to arrive. The first was Fox Demon that was changing forms every 10 minutes because, as his character is too young, he can´t keep a stable form yet. He keeps changing from a cute little fox puppy to a handsome chubby man. Ye Yan really likes this friend of his, and always thought of him as a little brother, even being younger them him.

About 10 minutes later, Conan arrived looking tired and almost short of breath. Probably because he tried to run and became out of stamina. His appearance really is like the barbarian, looking as if he just come out of a bodybuilder magazine cover.

Spell Bound arrived soon after Conan, looking like the prince charming without the white horse. Maybe an impoverished version of the prince charming because of the worn-out clothes, but his elven appearance plus 30% of beautification made the woman on the street turn their heads following him.

"What the fuck! What kind of look is this?" Conan couldn't stand the sight of his friend like that.

"I'm naturally handsome, this elven appearance just enchanted it a bit, but compared with your half-orc looks, I must look like the most handsome man ever existed. You are always complaining that you can't get a girlfriend but still chose a half-orc look. I really don't know what to think."

Now that the four of them reunited, they went in the direction of the place Ye Yan had killed the Keremeet Leavings. As the quest to kill Keremeet could be difficult with they still being level 0, the quartet started to kill slimes to gain experience while completing the quests. Ye Yan explained to them how they should move to evade the slimes, but only Conan has improved his dodge skills.

As the four of them were in the same party, they were sharing the experience the monster give them. Spell Bound was in the Adventure's Guild when he logged in, so he got the [Party Scroll] from there before meeting with his friends. To register a party, all the members need to sign the scroll, so they could start to share the experience. Everything in the game was thought to be the most realistic as possible so the human mind could adapt to it easier and later when they would start to use some superhuman powers, they don't will have problems using their skills because everything would be changing gradually. The human mind would let a man fly because they are programmed to think that man can't fly, so it will need some adapting to it first.

They continue killing the slimes until everyone leveled up and decided to go looking for [Keremeet]. On the way, Ye Yan got to level 2 and he distributes his 3 BP in constitution, dexterity, and attunement.

Every time he got one level, his HP increase by 5 points, and his AP increase by 3 points, plus the bonus from the stats, his HP reached 56 points and DEF, 17 points. Now that they will go to fight a difficult battle, Ye Yan had put on all the new equipment so he could tank the monster better.

"It was here I killed the monster that dropped the quest item. I think that the monster I need to kill isn't away from here." Ye Yan looked around and chose to go further into the forest while killing the monsters that they find along the way.

"Look at that!" Fox Demon point in a direction. One of the perks of being a spiritual beast is the better vision compared to the human race.

They looked in the pointed direction and saw [Keremeet] there. It was a big goop thing of green color with a kind of human-like face on its superior part made of the same substance.

Ye Yan took a deep breath and started to try thinking of it as data, not a real disgusting thing. And this Keremeet, at least, didn't stink. He gave a war cry and started the battle. Now that he is heavier because of his new equipment, he is having a hard time dodging the monster's attacks but, as the monster is hitting him in 7 points when he fails to dodge, it means that he would die in 4 hits if he wears only his old equipment.

Ye Yan became the party's tank and tried to keep it focusing on him, while Conan and Fox Demon were attacking it. Karemeet has 17 of defense, so Conan with his 7 str and 3 dex could take 7 HP of the monster on every hit, but he takes 4 seconds to attack, and Fox Demon could take only 1HP of the monster with his 4 agi and 6 dex, but his attack speed is the same as Ye Yan, 2.5 seconds per hit. And Spell Bound is running from one side to the other using [First Aid] on his friends, mainly on Ye Yan.

The scene is very messy, but they are taking the monster's HP steadily, and luckily it didn't have any HP recuperation skill or it would be impossible to kill. When it finally fell, the four sat down on the floor to rest because the battle was very consuming.

"Wow! So much experience! I am almost leveling up again!" Fox Demon said.

"Me too!"

"Me too!" Conan and Spell Bound said at the same time. They were very happy with the experience they gained, even more so, because they got a 10% bonus for 4 levels of difference. "What did it drop?"

"I will look." Ye Yan went to pick the items dropped by Keremeet. There were 4 items in total.

"We lucked out today!" Ye Yan showed the items to his friends and everyone decided that the [Rod] would go to Spell Bound, the skill book [Provoke] would stay with Ye Yan because he is acting as the party tank and they would keep the [Heal] for the doctor they would invite to the party.
