“I’m very sorry, but Draven escaped through the night.” Why?”

“The work is difficult and there is a lot of work, but he said that he couldn’t work at all because he banned himself from doing extra work. He left that note on the bed.”

The butler waved the note between his index and middle fingers and said. At the butler’s words, Cesare sighed lowly.

“Shall I catch him?”

“Okay. If I caught someone who didn’t want to work so much that they ran away on a rainy day like this, would they work properly? Better find someone new.”

I raised my hand and shouted at Cesare’s words.

“I will work for you!”

The butler and Cesare looked at me as if embarrassed. That’s because I didn’t even know what the usual job of the man who ran away was.  Unsurprisingly, there was a point about it.

“Do you even know what Draven does?”

“I don’t know, but I am confident of anything. As for me, I graduated from the Imperial Normal School with a high level of proficiency in geometry and language. My motto is ‘There is no escape in my dictionary’. If you give me a job, I will work so that my bones become powder without any complaints!”

At the sudden self-introduction, Cesare and the butler looked at me blankly.

Cesare was the first to wake up.

“You have great language skills? If so, do you know how to speak a foreign language?”

“Yes, I can read and write the Rutanian sacred language and the Hertz Empire language at the level of a native speaker.”

“Yes! As you can see from our conversation, I’m effortlessly good.”

Cesare kept his mouth shut, as if speechless by my superior ability.

“Yeah, well, you don’t need foreign language skills for this job. What matters is your mathematical ability.”

“I have been using the umbilical cord since I was born. I was born with the Chic operation on my body.”

“I can’t believe it.”

“You can try it.”

“What is 66 23 times 9?”

“It’s 207!”

“439 times 9 over 3?”

“It’s 1,317!”

Not only Cesare, but also the butler, looked surprised at my unobtrusive reply. Fortunately, math was my favorite subject. Especially when it comes to multiplication. The butler went near Cesare and whispered.

“We should hire her. The report date is the day after tomorrow. A situation in which even a cat’s hand has to be borrowed.”

“Still, it’s a bit difficult to have someone who I doesn’t know their identity in the castle…”
