She Knew She Loved Him(Completed)

Chapter 14:The Beginning of Many Encounters

At five thirty, the Bai Entertainment Gala began. The room went silent as the host walked on stage.

"Sirs and madams, good evening. Please help me welcome and thank the Bai family this evening, for holding a grand gala and for a great cause at that. Let's welcome the man himself, president Eyan Bai…"

The dining hall filled with thunderous claps as Eyan Bai walked up to the stage, smiling and waving at the audience below. He gave a brief welcoming remark and turned the stage to the host, who introduced the faces of Bai Entertainment.

Among the actresses stood Natalia Omalu. All the people at the Zi's table were surprised to see Natalia as one of the actresses under Bai Entertainment. Alex had no idea what she did and never wondered. He never once thought her to be an actress.

After the awards were presented, there was a fifteen minutes break.

To his right, Alex noticed the girl he had been keeping his eye on stand up and walk out of the dining room. He stood up and followed.

Throughout the award presentations, Zunnie was extremely nervous and deep down, she really wanted to run back home. Who knows who will win the dinner with her.

She was no good with obnoxious and annoying people. To avoid embarrassing whoever it might be and causing trouble for the Bai family, all she had to do was hope and pray the wheels turned in her favor.

As she walked to the bathroom, she silently prayed that whoever wins the dinner with her, be a woman or a good person.

Seeing she had ten minutes left when she walked out, she decided to stroll around the lobby to admire the paintings on the wall. She stopped before a painting of a young girl facing a pond. Across the pond was a house that looked like a castle. She couldn't help but feel sad; she really missed her mom. She took her phone and captured a picture of the painting.

"Such a lonely and sad painting she whispered."

"It is. They say most painters paint what they feel." A soft but deep voice replied.

Zunnie had no idea she wasn't alone and that the person standing next to her had been following her from the time she began observing the paintings. She was baffled when she realized someone happened to be standing next to her.

'What the…when did he get here!' Zunnie screamed inside.

Since her family was the one presenting the event, she did not want to be rude, and politely replied…

"So, I've heard…"

She peaked at her phone to find a reason to excuse herself.

"Ahh, if you'll excuse me, I must head back."

"There's still six minutes left before the auction." He said trying to get her to stay and talk some more.

"I'm aware of the time…"

"Are you trying to run away from me? Just then you were really admiring them, please don't stop because of me." He smiled and he pushed his hand into his pocket.

Zunnie was lost for words at what he said.

'How long has he been following me? Is he a stalker?' Zunnie Bai furrowed her brow and turned to have a look at the person standing next to her. In case he was a stalker, she had to take a good look at him.

The man was handsomely exuberating a cold yet warm aura. His amber eyes bore into hers making her slightly shiver under his piercing gaze. His lips were full and had a light shade of pink. The hottie's jaw was set in a straight line and she could see he had been neatly shaved. Her eyes traveled from his face slowly down to his shoes. He was dressed in a navy-blue suit over a white dress shirt. The two top buttons were undone, and she could clearly see his exposed skin. In his left breast pocket was a neatly folded tree green kerchief. On his feet were light brown suede loafers. She couldn't help but admit he was attractive and well dressed.

When she was done analyzing him and taking in every detail, she flashed him her professional smile and said,

"No, sir I am not. Please excuse me." She quickly turned around and strode back the dining hall.

When Zunnie got to her seat she sighed and looked back to scrutinize the man who walked in after her. He was looking at her. He smiled, nodded and sat down with the Zi's.

Although she knew about the Zi family, she doesn't remember meeting them. She knew they were good friends of her father so she was glad she had not been rude to the man she met just then.

The host distracted her thoughts as he announced; "Sirs and madams the auction will now begin.

First up we have…"
