"You guessed right." Alex chuckled

"Ohh…"

The elevator ride to the third floor was quiet and nerve-racking for Zunnie. When the elevator stopped on the third floor, she almost ran out to her door. However, before she entered her condo, she heard him say…

"Dinner will be ready at eight thirty. Don't be late since you're just down the hall."

Zunnie turned around to look at the person who had spoken. He was standing near the elevator staring at her with a serious look on his face. His amber eyes seemed like they were searching her soul through her deep blue eyes. She couldn't help thinking, every time she met his gaze, it generated an anxious feeling within her. She wondered what was it about him that made her heart skip a beat whenever their eyes met.

"I can't make it…I'm busy," Zunnie replied coming back to her senses.

"Or you don't want to make it. Don't forget you owe me a ten-billion-dollars dinner."

Zunnie was amused. 'Is he trying to bribe me with the money he spent? Too bad I can't give it back.'

Hearing him say that made her feel guilt because she had not made time for dinner with him. Nonetheless, tonight was not a good time for her to go over. She barely knew him, and she had to be careful.

"Mr. Zi I always keep my word. I will have dinner with you but not tonight."

"I will cook for two if you feel hungry come." Alex turned and headed to his door ignoring her rejection.

Zunnie was still standing there after he went inside. She couldn't believe that the neighbor she had been curious about was Alexander Zi. She didn't know whether to laugh or cry at how she had gone to his door a few times to introduce herself but chickened out. She was indeed hungry but going to his condo for dinner didn't seem like a good idea right now. She shook her head and entered her condo.

A sweet lavender scent filled her nostrils when she stepped in. The maid must have come to clean today. She surveyed the condo and noticed it had indeed been cleaned, and very well.

Mrs. Quan deserves a bonus. Since her dad was the one who paid her, she made a note to ask him to offer her a bonus at the end of the month.

Zunnie took a long warm bath after she returned a few calls. She felt more relaxed when she walked down the stairs. The clock on the wall showed eight thirty but it didn't matter to her. She had eaten a snack when she came in but was still hungry.

She poured herself a glass of wine and turned on the television. Her favorite drama series was on. She decided to watch it to distract her from thinking about dinner with Alex.

Alex on the other hand knew she wouldn't be coming over. However, he was hoping she would change her mind. He took a shower after cooking and placed the dinner into bowls. At nine o'clock, he grabbed the bag with food and walked to her door. He pushed the doorbell and patiently waited.

Zunnie was not expecting anyone. Only Sanua usually dropped by unannounced. She got up and opened the door without looking to see who it was. Her eyes grew wide when she saw Alex standing there with a bag in his hands.

Seeing she was slow to react, Alex invited himself in and walked to the kitchen.

"I brought you dinner Miss Bai and please don't tell me to get out. I cooked for you, but you didn't show up. That was not very nice." Alex said sounding hurt.

Hearing him speak from her kitchen, Zunnie quickly shut the door and stomped in;

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" She asked him angrily.

"Where are your plates?" He ignored her and proceeded to open her kitchen draws to find what he needed.

Zunnie was speechless. 'This guy sure got some nerve, barging into my house as if he owned it.'

"I'm not hungry…now stop making yourself comfortable because I did not invite you in."

"Ahh, found it!"

'He's totally ignoring me. What the fuck…this handsome and bossy person is crazy.' She was screaming inside but lost all her resolve when she inhaled the sweet and sour aroma from the food he was plating. Her mouth gave in and she began drooling as her stomach made loud noises.

"I am not asking for anything much, just eat with me. Plus, you said you're not hungry…what is that noise?" Alex said as he stared at her for the first time since barging in.

"I lied, I am hungry." She gave up since the sweet smell that had filled the air around her made her wonder how his cooking tasted.

"Good, then sit."

"You don't have to be so bossy. This is my place, not yours." She complained but still sat at the table.
