Shinobi From Hell

Chapter 261: Blast!

Klautz didn't apply much force into his attack but the charging momentum of Colt who came at his full speed should have been enough to send him to Styx's way. But…

*swish*

"That was a good move."

Colt nodded.

The blade of the dagger was stuck in between the two index fingers of both of his hands. He had blocked it well, stopping its charge.

Maybe if Klautz had applied more force the boy would have died. But the battle was an exchange of pointers in the first place.

Klautz wouldn't be able to bear the circumstances in case he dies, especially considering his zero standing and credibility in the world of hell as a newbie. It was still a long way for Klautz before he could even start targeting the ones on his kill list.

Even his status as Mizukigakure's representative wouldn't be able to get him out of such a sticky situation in case Colt were to die.

Of course, Klautz never had such a goal. His objective was to take input on his foe's attack patterns and battle tactics and he was already getting some information nonetheless.

'I would keep the act up and continue until he starts attacking me seriously.'

Klautz wasn't going to resist his attacks at all when he started fighting seriously and would just surrender instead. Klautz might be an exception, but he was representing the newbies at the moment. And there was no way that an average newbie could dodge a single attack at the second gen's speed.

Little did he know that fate had other plans for him.

*swish*

*swish*

Klautz pulled back his dagger and continued to give a few more stabs at Colt's head. But alas, most of them were dodged.

Klautz stabs had absolute perfection. They were a work of art in themselves. But the speed at which they were launched wasn't good enough to be a threat to Colt who seemed to dodge attacks in slow motion.

'I see his body is flexible enough to dodge all of them. What's more, is the fact that he is dodging them by instinct rather than by putting his own effort, or better he could have just ignored them altogether.'

With every bit and piece of the battle, Klautz learned a lot of things.

Colt never even had any need to dodge Klautz's attacks. Why? With Klautz's nerfed stabs it was impossible for the attack to ever breach Colt's defense!

Having a high defense stat, it was impossible for those stabs to pierce Colt's defenses and Colt knew this better than anyone. If not anything it would have got greater cheers from the crowd had he let them bounce off from his skin.

Yet Colt was dodging them instead of letting them tickle his skin unharmed.

There was only one conclusion to be drawn from that alone.

'He had trained a lot to the point that dodging such attacks have become internalized in his body no matter how weak or strong the attack is.'

With that alone, Klautz was able to guess that despite his looks of a spoiled second gen brat, Colt was actually a hard working person. At least he had done his homework right.

What could be the sparks of such dedication to training? Klautz had no idea and it was something for him to find at a later date.

It was then… Klautz took his testing a notch further.

*swish*

Klautz put on another stab towards his face causing him to tilt to the side but it was a feign instead. Colt hadn't realized that Klautz had switched the dagger in his other hand. With a counterclockwise swirling motion, he went for Colt's back.

For just an unnoticeable moment Klautz's speed had suddenly risen up to thrice of what it should have been! But the change was too abrupt for anyone to notice. And before anyone knew it Klautz's dagger was threatening to stab his back.

The target of the attack was not a vital point to kill but it would still be spilling some blood anyway.

It was then…

*Booom*

Instead of the squishing sound of spilling blood, there was a sound of a blast instead.

An explosion exploded in between his charge. The explosion was so sudden that it caused both Klautz and Colt to fly away in opposite directions. Smoke rose on the battlefield as no one knew what was happening.

KLautz raised his brows.

Klautz wasn't affected much by the explosion but his assault had stopped halfway. Thanks to his strong defense which could never be nerfed, he had received only a small burn mark on the back of his hand.

On the contrary, however, Colt was tossed to the end of the stage.

As the smoke cleared up the audience was able to see a rare sight that made them gasp. The excitement of the show was rising higher and higher.

Colt was on his knees with his shirt blasted open at his back along with chains of his inner armor whose existence wasn't as apparent before.

The chain armor too was destroyed leaving scraps of it going in weird directions twirling with each other leaving his skin bare.

His skin had charred with a tinge of black from the side effects of the explosion. Alas, Colt's defenses weren't as strong as Klautz. Not to mention that the explosion itself had originated from him making him its prime target.

But contrary to everyone's expressions who had expected Colt to somehow give up already, Colt started laughing.

"Ha Ha, you are better than the others. Didn't think that you would be able to reach my blind spot somehow."

Colt covered his eyes with his hands as his mouth resounded in a burst of mad laughter. To the audience, the masochistic Colt had risen by another level on the horrific scale.
