Shinobi From Hell

"Rest in peace," Klautz whispered. But there was no malice towards the man in his words. The man squirmed and twisted in pain as he died.

*Sigh*

Klautz relieved him from his pain. And this was the only way to do so. No healing or miracle could work. He was already beyond repair.

Klautz could save the man by using his Probationer, an item that could cast healing waves. But it would break after one more use. Why should he waste such a precious item on a stranger? It was essential to his survival and he wouldn't use it for others.

The man who died in front of him… Klautz didn't know him. But Klautz felt annoyed… Annoyed at this system set up in Hell that cheers on those who kill their kin.

[Kill: 1]

"It seems he was escaping from something." Klautz whispered.

The man being in the worst state as it can be, it was clear that he was hunted by someone.

"There is a predator"

Yes, as one would say, a predator in human form. But Klautz didn't have anything to do with the predator. Neither did he aim to play the hero.

It just so happens that the direction in which the golem stands happens to be the same direction from this man was escaping. For better or worse they were meant to clash.

When everyone was told of such a 'bonus stage', it wasn't mentioned that it would be a full-fledged survival stage, it wasn't mentioned how harsh it would be. This was just the beginning. 

The number of participants who were able to adapt to this stage fast could be counted on one finger.

There are broadly two kinds of participants who are participating in this stage. The one with classes and the one that doesn't have any. Those who have classes are stronger than the rest. They are the predators while the have-nots are easy prey. Exceptions exist but this was the norm.

From the man's blood soaked dead body a ringling creature emerged. It just so happened that Klautz was the only one to perceive it. Selena who was standing beside Klautz had no clue why Klautz was furrowing his brows.

'Is something wrong?'

Klautz furrowed his brows so much so his forehead formed wrinkles.

"Spirit conjure!" Klautz didn't make any delays as soon as he understood what it was.

A spirit left the body and joined Klautz's ranks.

"Tch" Lewis clicked his tongue. "Just when it was getting real"

He checked his kill count.

[Kills: 16]

Lewis had got so many kills. He had killed a lot of weaklings. He was one of those class holders, one which he had got at one of the trials at the tutorial zone. 

He had always found it strange how the whole tutorial zone could be cleared just by staying in the safe zone and not going out at all. He had always questioned himself the reason for the existence of the forest. That is when he had thought of the possibilities of treasures outside of the trial, and sure enough, he had found one.

That helped him stay ahead of others and get so many kills but even so, he was annoyed at the moment. One of his targets had escaped his clutches and he had lost track of the person.

This hadn't happened before. He always carried out his kills with extreme precision. 

But subsequent successes made him overconfident, he chose to play with one of his targets for fun which had led to him escaping his grasp. And before he knew it he lost him.

He clenched his fists as he gritted his teeth.

"I am never gonna make the same mistake again."

It was then that he noticed two people coming in his direction. It was Klautz and Selena. But he knew neither of their identity. However for some reason his lips arched into a devilish smile.

"Two of them? Let's see."

Lewis was no fool himself. He understood that all it takes a predator to become prey is a simple mistake. He doesn't dare to make mistakes.

He, therefore, lurks on trees and observes his target. It is only when he makes sure that they are weaker than himself does he approach to kill them.

Even now he was on a tree hiding amongst the leaves trying to read his target's strength and compare it with his.

Do they have classes? What kind of stats do they have? He had a lot of questions on his mind.

Klautz and Selena passed the tree. The branch on which Lewis was hiding was just above them. 

Klautz halted and his head turned as he looked up. An intense amount of killing intent escaped from his body. His eyes became blood red.

It was then that Lewis knew that he was done for. Lewis felt the greatest fear of his life. He tried to hide himself to the best of his capabilities. He had even stopped his very breathing. He was waiting for Klautz to leap at him with the intent to kill. He needs to at least defend himself.

Seeing Klautz like that even Selena felt worried but she said nothing.

'Did something happen?;

But the next moment Klautz turned back on his path not minding anything as if nothing happened. He acted as if there was nothing wrong.

"Oh my god, this person is not simple. Better not poke my nose here." Lewis was having cold sweats. His face had turned ashen white from his killing intent alone.

He watched their backs as both of them walked away. Lewis had to just stay put to escape with his life.

Selena fumbled as she tripped on a tree root protruding from the ground.
