Simmering Jams at the Edge of the Forest
Six marks.
I think I was born well. There was just nothing I could be interested in.
Growing up in the detachment of the Mansion as the concubine of the Count's family, every day I saw contempt from the children of my righteous wife and the mother who lived swinging by a man I could not call my husband was not very pleasant.
I guess I was fortunate that I was still as financially blessed as I could live a life free of disability.
Not as good as my half-brothers but my behavior was controlled and restricted. The only time I was free was while reading a book. Thanks to you, I read all the books in the mansion. Still, nothing caught my interest. I just kept reading it just to get away from the hand that dominated me for a moment.
As it got longer, there was a difference between me and my half-brothers. Grades and appearance. I don't find that funny. My real wife and her sons have made a crappy attack by touching the fold. It's something I don't react to, so I escalate over there. I guess I should have done it appropriately somewhere, but it was a vendetta that even seemed futile to let it go.
Less than six months to graduate from school. Are you going to keep going into some lab or move on to getting ready to enter the House of Lords? I had no interest in my future, and I was just consuming my days to be.
As usual, his persistence with his half-brothers continued, but he was unexpected to attack him openly. The direct reason is, oh, I got my hands on my stupid fiancée up there, was, or I can't. I'm not so incapacitated as to take others'. It's over there that I've invited you forcefully. It was just a hassle to say no, but he doesn't care about that.
"Oh, here it is. Isn't it a bad day to hide?"
A stranger, Mitsuhito, called out to swallow at me as I watched a gap running away covering the flank of an unpopular Wang Capital backstreet stabbed by a hired broken door. He's skinny and tall, he's not a bad person, but he's wearing a hat deep and he doesn't know his face.
It is true that the weather is not suitable for outdoor play due to a mixed rain, but the sincerity of this old man, who speaks to me like that for whatever reason, has been weighed together. The wound isn't that deep, but if you see a lot of unexpected bleeding, it's a pain.
"... if you don't want to get involved, go this way"
"Hmm? I'm a hey, I look like this and I'm a doctor. It's not sexually appropriate to overlook an injured person."
"Oh, come on, you... whoa, whoa"
He was pressed to the ground with a relaxed tone and a vibrant hand on his back, pouring healing magic out of his wound without question. Without hesitation or anything, the absorbable maximum value and the amount of bumps are punched in, and the head becomes blurred with severe pain.
"Well, my treatment is pretty expensive. From what I've seen, I don't seem to have the money, and I think I'll have it paid for by my body."
My consciousness fell into the dark when I thought slightly calmly that this guy was an arrow, too.
It was on a simple bed that I woke up. Signs of multiple people beyond the curtain with the windows on one side and hung around the remaining tripartite beds. My head seemed heavy and sumptuous, but gradually I could hear the talk.
"... yes... and here it hurts again... nice to meet you"
"Oh...... the season really is. A lot, especially on rainy days."
"It would be...! It's hard and painful. It can't be done."
Apparently, it's our clinic. The voice of an elderly woman complained of knee pain in an extended manner, and the deceitful voice of a calm man continued. Even after that, I have abdominal pain, a sprain, the patient never interrupts when the child has a fever, and I am quite busy. They all go home safely to the voice of a man who seems to be a doctor.
I listened as if I were a lullaby listening to the voices that would be replaced while I was flattered.
"Oh, how are you feeling? I guess it's time for my head to clamp."
Soon it seems that the patient is gone. It's raining outside and time is vague, but the darkness will make it past the evening. I don't know the look on the man's face when it comes to the reflection from the examination room.
"Oh, you don't have to get up. The wound is blocked, but it hasn't healed yet. You're young, and if you do that until morning, well, you can move. Now it's time to sleep. We'll talk about it later."
The chaser didn't come, so he asked me to sleep well and heal him, and he stroked my head out like he was going to be a child... what a touched head, how many years has it been?
Enemy or ally? My head was surprised but questioned my appeased mind for some reason, and I closed my eyelids again with a blurry glimpse of the closed curtain shaking behind the man's back.
The man named himself Daniel Reynolds. A short distance from Wang Du, the doctor who runs the clinic here in Meeserie... knew the name.
"Reynolds, who was the head doctor of the Royal Palace..."
"I wonder if you'd be happy to call me Dr. Daniel now. He's already retired."
I was told to be able to wear it, but I was just surprised before a famous doctor who would be noble and have no strangers. I see. I don't think anyone can activate healing magic immediately after judging this tolerance just by looking at it. I was convinced it would be in person.
He says he went to the library in Wangdu to return the book. There was a bookstore about to go around there, and he said he found me lurking in the alley when he tried to stop by on his way home. I said I was good at finding kids who had been hiding for a long time.
As I forgot to put my usual vigilance somewhere, I could say that I spoke from body to background as I was questioned, not because I heard the name, but because I was flushed by the atmosphere he had.
An atmosphere that is not sweet but accepts everything, never rejected or denied.
“Inclusiveness” … I think that's what this was called.
"I see... I've had some pinches in my ear about the Disreilli family. You are the son of that brilliant man. [M] So, Mark. What do you want to do?
"Well, what?"
"Are you going to kick your brothers down and succeed them, or are you going to look for another way? Do you want to return the stab? Or run away like this?
... I wasn't thinking about any of it. I find it annoying to be hit, but that's all. I just don't know any emotions for me to spend my days with. I live because I'm not dying. I'm not going to move on and die, but I don't want to live and do anything.
I guess that's what you see of me, Dr. Daniel laughed bitterly and poured a warm tea alternative.
"You need time. I treated the wound and it will heal soon, but you should stay here for a while. [M] And while you do that, you'll see some of them."
"... can you put it down?
I need you to work for the cost of the treatment.
He says it very lightly. I know it's not an amount I can pay quickly, such as for his treatment.
"I guess you have enough school graduation credentials? I know some of the professors over there, and I'll talk to them. Shall I heal the wound first? I thought you noticed, you were politely poisoned. I'm glad you didn't die instantly."
"You wanted me to be gone. Well, it seems to have ended in vain."
"No, I guess that's where I get angry..."
Patients who visited the clinic were referred to be student assistants. Life in a rural town of such a size was peaceful itself.
Stand beside Dr. Daniel during practice hours and follow the instructions to help in detail, and borrow his books to read at night. Learning about health care was interesting. I was surprised as I studied something and found it interesting for the first time.
Neither are the injured because of the large number of inhabitants of moderate temperament. Why are you only dealing with patients like you have extra arms as the head doctor of the Royal Palace?
Why stay in the Wang capital and be here for a medical examination close to free, even if you can make as much money as you want by treating your aristocratic counterpart?
Why did you pick yourself up in the first place? Even if he couldn't overlook the injured, as he said, why would he retain me here when he would be home and done with his treatment... all I didn't know about Dr. Daniel.
"Oh, Daniel, it's been a while. Oh, you're the new assistant."
Nice to meet you, and a classy woman your age with Dr. Daniel smiling softly. I'm going to see you, and it was the villages off, the noble mansions on the back of the woods that brought me here. Buddy the big dog and this former Countess Adelaide Dustin live alone and alone.
"Addy, is it any different? He's Mark Dizreiri. I picked it up in Wangdu."
There's no way we don't know each other's family names, but we didn't touch them, and the fact that something nice was falling, and the afternoon tea was naturally supported with a gentle laugh... I should have come to see you.
Lined up at the table in front of you are two kinds of baked confectionery and aromatic tea that would be handmade by Madame. I understand it's the usual thing to do to my boss who is completely relaxed.
I don't see anything like this in my clothes, in my life, etc. You're right if they say it's outdated, but I thought it was the right woman for this occasion like the time has stopped.
Apparently, the two of them, who are familiar with the past, call it a "visit” to meet and drink tea from time to time. Time passed softly and I quit the mansion, especially not making the following promises.
Like burning, in the perfect sunset, take the road back to the clinic.
"... the teacher is in this village because she's here"
"That's right. You're one of my most important people."
I assure you without hiding it. A little surprised by Dr. Daniel, he stopped and looked straight at me.
"Mark, status and money don't make sense if you don't need them when you need them. I couldn't help her. [M] That fact will never go away."
Suddenly I wondered what to say. We talked about it once at the beginning a moment late. I realize it's a topic that didn't come up.
"If you can get it, you better do that. One day it will help you. I'm sure it'll help when I have something I want to protect you."
"... something you want to protect me, etc."
"I think protecting women and children is what a man really wants."
I was kidding. The expression contained something bitter.
"In the meantime, you can start by accepting the favor you've been given. I'm not going to say I'm impotent about liking someone all of a sudden. You don't have to give it back, so first, give me the words, take the feelings. That reminds me more and more that I'm human... you're one person, Mark."
They do the same thing because you don't treat yourself as a person. [M] That's why I think about killing him easily. Of course, the bad news is that it's all over the place.
The word dyed in the sunset pierced the back of my heart and never fell out.
In the end, I spent about four months at Meeserie. After returning to Wang Capital and graduating from school, he studied the basics for a while in the school's medical department while staying at the Royal Medical Center at Dr. Daniel's expense.
By entering the hospital, the succession struggle took the form of an interruption, and by adding that "Daniel Reynolds" was on the back shield, the outright attack on me lurked.
When I gained a lot of knowledge and skill and could not call myself a friend, but also had a few individuals I could say I knew, I decided to go back to Meeserie.
"... I didn't call you."
"I wanted to be a pushing apprentice"
I knew you were a funny kid, you are. With that said, this nostalgic mentor accepted me again. I wanted to live beside this man more than my birth parents.
"It's okay, I'll take care of it at the end of the day."
"I can't believe I missed that diminution. I was too busy."
I thanked him deeply, staring back at the eyes that looked happily at me, laughing at some point.
Before the clinic started, I went to the woods to pick up some herbs that were going to be missing. Since healing magic is effective for trauma but not for internal diseases, medication will be necessary. Protected by the Count Dustin family, these woods are native to various types of medicinal herbs, and my teacher and I have permission to collect them.
I found what I was looking for and as I plugged into a trail where I could see the back yard of Master Adelaide's mansion, I heard Buddy's pleasant light squeal.
When I looked over at you, there was Margaret, who turned to dance in a twirl as I turned well around the cage in my hand. Near her shoulders the numbing dark hair, the fluttering, spreading skirt hem...... the sun shines softly around her like it's just there and the waltz that she shouldn't hear is heard in the wind.
As I stopped and stared unknowingly, I suddenly crouched down and even rested my ankle. I guess so, because it hasn't healed yet. If it wasn't for all those injuries, the doctor's treatment, it should still be on the bed.
Unexpectedly, it spills bitter laughter, but for some reason, it's warm around my chest. I was just about to go help her and she got up and started walking slowly as if nothing had happened with Buddy.
Drop me off at the end of my journey back to the mansion, and I'll be on my way home again.
I always have myself looking for her when I realize it.
I met my teacher and became a "person". And now I'm sparing a newly acquired emotion.
Straight eyes, a smile without a back. The uncomfortable look on your face when you are with Master Adelaide or your teacher. White fingertips touching the flat of the conversing hand...... everything far from you.
I hold them in this hand that I'm going to break if I touch them, and I don't want to let them go.
You'll get this emotion. I know the name. But I don't want to express this urge that I feel for the first time in my life in such cliché.
Margaret broke off as unnecessary much of the privilege she was supposed to receive as an "invitee of the Spirit". What she seeks does not seem to be a subtle worship from numerous people, but only affection and gratitude from those close by.
How does this world appear in her, uh, lid-colored eyes, which always wrap around the calm air? How different is the world she sees from herself?
It would be full of light. I wish I could find out about that one day, I think.
