Sleeping Next to the Pirate King

97 A guide to moving: Ship edition 1650

I breathed in the afternoon air as the usual bustling of the crew filled my ears. I was sitting on the floor of the deck as Weston, Francois, Baron, and Henry discussed matters over a map. my eyes scanned the map of our possible trip route. Based on the navigation skills of our navigators, it was determined that we were about a week's time away from North Carolina. I looked over at Henry and smirked.

"Sir Henry, why are you joining in this conversation? You are not a member of this crew yet."

Henry scowled before putting on a poker face.

"I would like to become an adjunct captain as I believe that it would benefit both parties."

I chuckled.

"Are the two parties you speak of, yourself and my crew? If so, what benefits do we have from you?"

Henry breathed out in frustration before saying.

"Not only am I a skilled buccaneer, but a prosperous one at that. I could provide the services of my men along with any compensation."

I smirked.

"Hmmm. Your men are injured my dear sir. Additionally, your compensation seems petty compared to that of the Bermuda Triangle. In the end wouldn't this be a win-win situation for you and you only?"

Henry smirked as he answered.

"You are quite the inquisitive individual."

I smirked back and said.

"So are you my dear sir."

The other captains watched us spit fire with our bickering. Weston smoked a cigar with Weston as they pointed at the different ways that we could dock at North Carolina. Baron talked to his navigator. On the map there was no specifics regarding the split of the United States colonies. I sighed as I placed my hand on the map of America. I chuckled. Soon in time, the West will be ventured and added. Currently only the Eastside was pictured. The only habitable settlements would be in North Carolina for the moment.

So far, everything was looking good. Our food supply has not run out thanks to our rationing and the Spanish twins' contribution. I looked over to see the Spanish twins' boat. It was way larger than our own and seemed sturdier and more capable for a trip to the Bermuda Triangle than ours. I stroked my chin. Maybe we should move over to that ship. They are my crew members after all. Henry looked at me before sighing and saying.

"Look Mila. I actually do want to join your crew officially. Is that possible?"

I sighed. Despite his annoying attitude this man would become the most renowned pirate. He doesn't have any weaknesses. Frankly speaking, he would be a great addition to the crew. I sighed as I weighed the pros and cons. There will be no harm in adding him for now.

"Well Henry, there is no harm in adding you on to the team. Welcome to the crew!"

Henry smiled and shook my outstretched hand. For now, I could make use of his knowledge of the sea and maritime trade. For now, he does not seem to be dangerous in any way.

"What do you need Lady Mila?"

"Just call me Mila, my loves."

The twins nodded as I asked.

"Is there anyone else on your ship but the two of you?"

They shook their heads. Good.

"Is it possible for us to use your ship from now on?"

The twins looked at me in confusion. I sighed. Of course, they wouldn't.

"Of course, you can Lady Mila, whatever is ours is yours."

I clasped their hands as tears of joy ran down my cheeks.

"Are you two serious?"

They nodded as I hugged them. Thank God, these two were actually cinnamon rolls despite their lethal skills with a sword. What a pair of angels! I nuzzled my cheek on their faces as they laughed. I then led them by their hands towards the other captains.

"Okay, we have to stop everything right now and prepare to allocate everything to the ship next to us. Our ship cannot handle a trip as perilous as that to the Bermuda Triangle. We need to go on a ship both sturdier and larger to accommodate our new crew mates. With this in mind, Francisca and Francisco have allowed us the use of their ship. We will then abandon this ship. As for your small ships Henry, we can have them tied to the new ship and keep them as emergency life boats."

The captains nodded as I smiled. We then separated as we went to do our individual tasks. I have to keep the crew mates in check and get them moving as we allocate the food, and supplies. Henry was assigned the task of helping his crew members move with their injuries. Another busy afternoon passed, as supplies were brought up to the new ship using a pulley and axel system introduced by Henry's butler, Atticus. I couldn't get the image of a certain devilish butler out of my mind when I look at Atticus. Lord above even in this new life I am lusting over fictional characters.

I wiped my brow as sweat leaked from my limp, tied hair. The sun was setting as we finally moved to the new ship. The new ship had over fifty rooms with bunk bed living arrangements. After much fighting it was decided that I would share a room with Francisco and Francisca after they threatened my other possible roommates with the use of their swords. I had stopped them in time before a possible massacre. Baron walked out of the minor scuffle with a couple of scratches as he was the first to suggest being my roommate. Even if he won I don't think that we're at the point in our relationship to move in together.

Now that I think about it, what the fuck is our relationship anyways? Friends? Girlfriend and Boyfriend? Fiancée? Husband and Wife?

Ugh. Whatever the label, all I know is that I think of him as being someone special to me. More than that of a typical guy friend. I nodded. That's good enough for now. Maybe the label will reveal itself the closer we get to the Bermuda Triangle. I sighed. I need to fucking rest right now. The large deck was busy as crew members drank ale and started to sing out folk songs while their red faces shined under the dark sky. I laid down on the deck under the starry night. Jacia's voice rose into the air as she fought with other drunken men. I rubbed my face. That bitch was worrying me more than my own self. I truly felt like a mother to my crew members. A familiar smell filled my nose as the sound of the deck creaking filled my ears. I turned only to come face to face with a smirking Baron. I sat up in shock. Baron pulled me down and brought me close to his chest. He then ran his fingers through my hair as he kissed the top of my head.

"You have done enough today my dear Mila. Just relax in your husband's arms."

I don't even have the energy to retort today. I buried my face in Baron's chest as he chuckled. HIs warmth enveloped me as I slept to the rhythm of his heartbeat. How relaxing.
