Knowing what to do next, the group with Chan Gu on the lead started searching for the place where the portal lies in wait.

It was apparent from how the group did not even rest for a bit before going to their next destination, that they have no intention of wasting any more of their time.

With another group from unknown origins coming after the same goal as what they have, they inevitably need to make haste. Or else, they will risk having those sorceresses to overtook them.

By no means, should they allow that group if itinerant sorceress to find the apprentice necromancer before they could do so.

"Should we let our father know about it? Maybe we can ask him for some help?"

Long Yue asked his brother on their way. Since their father is the emperor it will be a lot easier for them if they could be able to tap on their influence as a prince to look for someone.

Long Fuzi immediately turned down his brother's idea. While Fan Lei seconded right away.

"Long Fuzi is right, We have to conduct this search in the shadows as much as possible. "

"Well, you got a point there."

Long Yue lowered his head when he realized how shallow he was taking this matter.

"If more people learned about our movement, then we might risk being exposed before we could even find the apprentice necromancer. In the worst-case scenario, the apprentice might even try to hide in fear of exposing his identity in the public"

Fan Lei added to support their claim.

But time is precious. The longer they delay the situation, he slimmer the chance that they can save Luna.

After all, there is no guarantee that nothing will go wrong in her recovery if she will be kept in that same condition for a prolonged period of time.

Not to mention that they are also racing against time with the itinerant sorceresses of unknown backgrounds that just simply pop up in the story.

While Mu Lingxi and her friends were discussing what they were about to do, their feet did not dawdle either.

They continued to move forward, heading to the direction of the portal. Splashing water on the process as they were walking on knee-deep water of the Rhapsody Swamp.

Not long ago, they arrived at a small cabin house that is located in the middle of one of the drier areas of the swampland.

The soil on this place was still damp, but it was still enough to provide a stable footing for them so they could move walked normally around.

'Knock. Knock. Knock'

Since there was a door to the cabin, Chan Gu knocked on the door to announce their presence.

Whether there is someone inside or none, Chan Gu did not force an entry right away and waited for any form of response in the meantime.

"We are from Magus Academia and we came here because of a school mission. We are now looking for our way out of this Rhapsody Swamp."

"Long Fuzi expressed their intention when they did not get any response from the inside of the cabin house.

Since the Nexus Portal pointed them here, then the portal should be inside the cabin house.

Supposedly, there should be someone guarding the portal, but from the current looked of it, the place seemed empty.

"Why don't we check it out for ourselves what was inside????"

Yun Xue said before stepping forward. Then he reached out to grab the knob attached to the wooden door.

He slowly twisted the knob and the door make a low creaking sound as Yun Xue opened it.

Looking inside, the cabin was full of dense fog. The thick fog started to move at the side as Mu LIngxi's cut through them and walk at the center of the room.

The wooden floor creaked in protest under their weight as they made their way inside.

When all the fog divided, it revealed a tall cactus plant at the very center of the room. It was about the size of a normal man.

A conspicuous yellow flower sat at the top of its head. Or so the top part of the plant. The yellow flower above it makes it look like the cactus plant was wearing a floral headdress instead.

Tiny but sharp thorns were sticking out all over its body. Nothing can be seen inside the cabin house aside from the human-sized cactus.

"Have we come the wrong way? Are you sure that the portal is here??? I can't see anything that looks like a portal here, though"

Long Yue asked as he looked at Chan Gu. Since Chan Gu was the one who was holding the Nexus Portal, they believed that he knew where they are going.

That is why they just followed him obediently and tailed behind him.

"I'm not sure that happen though? This is exactly the place that was being reflected at the Nexus Portal. I also find it weird not to see any portal or guardian here."

Chan Gu was just as dumbfounded as the rest of his friends are. Although he was taking the lead, he too was just following the direction told to him by his artifact.

But instead of pointing them out to the direction of the portal, the artifact directed them to an abandoned cabin house in the middle of the swampland.
