'Finally, I can land an attack on its neck.'

Lucas was very sure that this time he was going to land an attack on the [Black tortoise]'s neck no matter what.

There was only less than an inch gap between his dagger and the [Black tortoise]' neck and of course, it didn't have enough time to retract its neck.

'Clang'

Just like he expected, Lucas' dagger finally touched the spot he was aiming at the [Black tortoise]'s neck.

'Thud'

'What?'

However, Lucas' excitement turned into a huge shock as he bounced back to the ground from the impact when his dagger touched the [Black tortoise]'s neck.

'Cru cru'

The [Black tortoise] was surprised for a moment when it noticed that Lucas managed to land an attack on it; however, it only lasted for a moment before it started mocking him again.

'What the hell? How is its weakest spot to be so strong?'

Lucas stood up from the ground as he looked at the mocking [Black tortoise] with a shocked look.

'This monster is not something I can defeat with my current abilities.'

This was the conclusion he came to after experiencing the true defensive powers of the tortoise.

'Why the hell did you hide inside your shell when you have such a high defensive power?'

However, there was something that Lucas still didn't understand why the [Black tortoise] acts like a scaredy-cat with such a good defensive move?

<The one hour time is completed. The fighter failed to defeat the [Black tortoise]>

Just as he was thinking about it, he heard the guide's voice from above as he disappeared from that place and appeared in the endless space.

<Since the fighter failed in winning, he is restricted from entering the [Fighting arena] for one month>

<Please train hardware and become as strong as possible before entering the [Fighter's arena] the next time>

After saying those words, the monotonous voice sent him out of the [Fighting arena].

'Sigh'

Lucas woke up in his secret training room and sighed a little.

'I thought I became stronger after I became a tier 1 general assassin; however, from the looks of it, I still have a long way before claiming I am powerful.'

Even though Lucas was not arrogant for becoming a tier 1 general assassin, deep down he felt he was strong enough to defeat the first monster boss in the [Fighting arena].

'I will train harder for the next 30 days and challenge the turtle again. That time, I will defeat it for sure.'

Lucas finally felt a strong fire rise in his heart as decided to train even harder than before.

Time continued to pass and in a flash, one month passed by.

In the [Fighting arena].

'Huf huf'

'Damn it…I failed again but I will succeed next time.'

Lucas looked at the mocking [Black tortoise] and clenched his fists as he was sent out of the [Fiighting arena] by the guide.

'Even with my tier 2 general assassin strength, I can't defeat it.'

After coming out, Lucas muttered to himself as he vented his anger on a training dummy in his secret training room.

During the past month, Lucas assassinated the required number of rank 4 spirit beasts to increase his assassin rank to tier 2 general assassin.

It was not that he was not putting effort into the assassinations; however, assassinating the rank 4 spirit beasts was a lot more difficult compared to rank 3 because his presence was able to detect before he could give the killing blow.

Not only that, he even used some time to increase the basic spelL [Thunder bullet] to intermediate level and successfully became a tier 2 lesser mage.

'In the next month, my advanced spell [Infernal Bomb] will be upgraded to level 2. I think I can take care of the [Black tortoise] next month.'

With that thought in his mind, Lucas once again got his lost determination.

'Status.'

It's been a while since he last checked his status. So, Lucas wanted to see how his skills and the spells progressed during the past month.

Intermediate spells:- Blazing wave (level 1), Invisibility (level 2), Dual thunder bullet (level 1) and Magical vines (level 1)

Advanced spells:- Infernal bomb (level 1), Soul search (level 1).

Recovery technique:- Gentle Behemoth technique (level 1) and Eternal magic recovery technique (level 2).

Movement technique:- Ghost steps (level 2).

'Dual thunder bullet is just an additional thunder bullet; however, both thunder bullets have the damage power to kill the normal rank 3 spirit beast.'

Lucas really liked the upgraded spell [Dual thunder bullet] because of its damage power.

The skills, spells and techniques he used in his battles and assassinations were upgraded by at least one level; however, the skill 'Fiery rage' was upgraded by two levels.

Looking at his [Infernal bomb] spell, Lucas felt he could kill the [Black tortoise] as long as he upgrade it to level 2.

Since the magic power cost for the advanced spell was 1000 units, it was taking a lot of time to upgrade it compared to the basic spells.

'I will check how the special training program was going on and how the old man Bernard was managing the town.'

With that thought in his mind, Lucas came out of the Raindrop manor to check on the progress of Silverstone town and the training of the youngsters.
