Sovereign of the Firmaments

"Of course, I will try my best in stopping the upcoming evil invasion."

For Lucas, fighting the evil race is the quickest way to upgrade his status from Duke grade to Sovereign grade. So, of course, Lucas decided to take the Heavens' offer without any hesitation.

'Not only can I become the True King of the Barren firmament but I will gain the equivalent status of the King of a fifth-ranked firmament.'

Lucas felt it would be enough power for him to live a peaceful life in this world. Once he accomplishes his goals like saving his little brother and taking revenge on the Liontalon family, he could relax and take his own time to increase his strength.

'I wonder whether I got any knowledge about the mysterious organization.'

Since all he needed to do was think, Lucas thought about the organization that kidnapped his little brother.

'Huh? What the…all I got is useless information.'

As usual, when Lucas thought about the organization, he understood something about the organization; however, he felt it was useless.

'Members from the organization scout all firmaments in the Firmament world and kidnap the youngsters with unique and high talents twice or thrice in a year.'

'Each member of this organization will have a tattoo of 'infinity' and the moment they are caught or they feel suspicious, they either use the escaping tools or kill themselves.'

Even though Lucas felt the information was useless, he still looked through the two bits of information he unlocked in his head when he thought about the mysterious organization.

The first bit of the information, Lucas already knew about it and as for the second bit of information, Lucas already assumed that everyone from that organization would have a tattoo on their body.

Using that assumption, Lucas was planning to capture the members of the organization after he became powerful in the Barren firmament.

'Even in the useless information, I found something interesting.'

Lucas looked at the last part of the second bit of information and muttered, 'Either escape or suicide. It looks pretty much similar to the organization in my previous life.'

For some reason, Lucas thought about the mysterious organization in his previous life which had the same policy.

'Wait a second. If I compare the two organisations, they look more or less the same except for the insignia of the organizations.'

Until now, Lucas had compared the organization from his previous life with the current one; however, he never imagined the case where both of them might be the same organization.

Except for the insignia, he felt everything about the two organizations are the same, making Lucas' worries even more.

'Tonight, I should use the dream communication talisman and check on him.'

Lucas received another dream communication talisman from the system rewards and decided to use it after organizing everything about Silverstone city.

'Also, I need to find a way to mass-produce these dream communication talismans to check how he is doing.'

Lucas added a mini goal to his list as he asked the heavens, "Is there is anything more I need to learn about?"

"Once your soul returns to your body in the Silverstone town, the heavens will announce about you in the entire Barren firmament. Once it happens, the Duke grade families will not be happy about it and continue to challenge you and your family."

"It is your duty to convince them and make them your loyal subordinates. The entire firmament should be united while fighting against the upcoming invasion."

"A Duke can't kill others who gained ranks from the heavens; however, since you are a temporary kill, the heavens will allow you to kill three Dukes who angers you and you will not face any punishment from the heavens."

"However, you can't kill more than three Dukes or anyone lower than Duke grade without Heaven's challenge stone."

The voice continued to resound beside Lucas's ear as he patiently noted down everything in his head.

"You will be bestowed with three Heaven's challenge stones. Please use them carefully because you can use them in other firmaments to challenge others who joined the ranks under Heavens."

'What?'

The last sentence made Lucas pleasantly surprised as he decided to use the three Heaven's challenge stones.

King Aston only had one heaven's challenge stone and he used it only when he felt like everything was falling apart for him. 

So, Lucas was also planning to use it only when he had an absolute need for them.

'Swoosh'

After that, Lucas opened his eyes only to see familiar yet unfamiliar surroundings.

There were huge buildings everywhere and Lucas was unable to recognize a single of them because they were constructed by Heavens.

'Ding,

        It is detected that the town under the host's control is upgraded to a city.

'Ding,

        The [Town management feature] is upgraded to [City management feature].

'Ding,

        It is also detected that the host has gained a Heaven ranked spirit beast.

'Ding,

        The host has met the hidden requirements for the system upgrade.

'Ding,

        Do you want to upgrade the system?

As Lucas was marvelling at the building designs around him, he received a series of system notifications, giving him a pleasant surprise.

'This is unexpected.'

Lucas was already satisfied with the rewards he received today and was not expecting more rewards; however, he received even more rewards.

'Looks like today is the luckiest day for me.'

Other than this, Lucas didn't say anything else as he directly nodded his head at the last system notification.

'Ding,

          The system is currently being upgraded and it will take one month to finish its upgrade.

'What the hell? One month? Isn't that too long?'

Lucas felt he was a little too excited today and forgot to ask the system about the upgrade time.

'Even if the system is undergoing the upgrade, I can use some of the features, right?'

Lucas was not having much hope from the system when he asked the system about it. But, still, he asked for it.

'...'

However, he didn't get any reply from the system.

'What? You can't even give an answer during your upgrade?'

Lucas frowned as he asked one more time before thinking, 'Let's try to use the available.'

'Inventory'

He started with the most basic feature [Inventory]; however, he was unable to put any items into it or take out anything from it.

'User interface?'

'Chat?'

'Exchange platform?'

Lucas tried using other features and of course, he was unable to use a single of them.

'Sigh…looks like I will not be talking with the system for a month.'

This was the conclusion Lucas came to after trying out different system features.

The reason why he sighed was, all the items, gold coins…everything was in the inventory. So, basically, he became 'Poor' even after having so many valuable items in the inventory.

'It is only for a month. It will pass in a flash. So, let's focus on organizing everything that is available to me.'

Looking at the Silverstone town around him, Lucas muttered to himself.

"Family head."

Soon, Lucas was surrounded by his followers and family members.

"Looks like everyone received good rewards from the heavens."

Looking at their excited looks, Lucas could tell that the heavens were not stingy with its rewards as it rewarded everyone around him heavily.

"Yes, family head. We received the rewards that we never imagined would receive."

Everyone nodded their heads as one of the family heads of the guardian families mentioned, "Family head Lucas, our family manors are reconstructed by the heavens and we could not wait to see it. Can we go and check them out?"

"Yes, family head Lucas. We are also curious about it."

The two other family heads nodded their heads as they were excited about their reconstructed manor.

"Sure. Go ahead."

Lucas nodded his head as he looked at everyone, "I think Heavens constructed a good house for everyone, You can go and pick one for yourself."

Since the radius of the city is 10 times more than Silverstone town, there was a lot of space for the heavens to construct simple homes for everyone.

Compared to the houses, the residents of the city were very few. So, Lucas directly gave an offer to pick whichever house they wanted to settle in.

"Yes, family head."

Everyone excited nodded their heads and quickly rushed to pick their house to live in.

"Roar"

The spirit beasts roared at Lucas as though they wanted Lucas' attention too.

"You all became rank 5 spirit beasts?"

Lucas was surprised to see that all the spirit beasts under his care reached rank 5.

"Yes, master."

All the lynxes and other spirit beasts nodded their heads as they replied in a human voice.

"Excellent. We can conquer the myriad primordial forest slowly and I will make you the kings of it. There, you can start your own beast clan."

Lucas had his eyes on the Myriad primordial forest and promised his spirit beasts that he would help them become the kings of that forest while starting their own beast clan.

"Thank you, master. We will search for our beast dens."

The spirit beasts were excited as they nodded their heads before searching for the beast dens in the city.

"Old man, Beck, Reece, Harper and Porter."

Lucas called a few names and asked, "Follow me and let's check the special buildings constructed by the heavens."

Other than the reconstruction of the manors and simple houses, the heavens even constructed some special buildings that were constructed with the help of the blueprints.

So, Lucas decided to check them out with his loyal followers.
