Special District 9

Chapter 57: Goatskin Windbreaker and a Ponytail

“Boss, I’ve arrived. I’m going to contact them.”

“Alright.” The other party quickly sent a response.

Having received the boss’ approval, Kang-ge took out his phone and dialed Qi Lin’s number, “Hello?”

“Hello, Kang-ge.” In the several times that they had communicated on the phone, Qi Lin had already learned of the other party’s name. “We’ve already arrived at Platinum Castle.”

“Where are you all?” Kang-ge asked.

“We’re in a compartment room on the second floor,” Qi Lin replied honestly.

Kang-ge licked his lips. Sitting in a dark room, he paused for a moment before saying, “Come to Room 9 on the third floor.”

“I’ll head right over.”

“Un.

After the two of them ended their call, Kang-ge walked over to the entrance of the room, and through the peephole in the wooden door, he began observing the opposite Room 9.

On the second floor.

Qi Lin kept his phone and told Qin Yu and Old Cat, “The person has arrived. He’s on the third floor.”

“Didn’t we agree to meet in this room? Why did he go to the third floor?” Old Cat said with a frown. “Is that fellow trying to…?”

But before he could finish his words, Qin Yu suddenly gripped Old Cat’s wrist. He then proceeded on to look at the three ladies in the room and said, “You three can leave now.”

Old Cat immediately shut his mouth.

Coco was stunned for a moment before she turned to the other two ladies and said, “We should give these gentlemen some privacy to speak. Let’s leave first.”

Sitting on the sofa, Qin Yu watched Coco and the others walk out of the room before speaking gravely, “We rushed here blindly after receiving that call, and till now, we don’t even know what kind of person the other party is. Let’s proceed carefully and take some precautions in advance.

Hearing those words, the other two took out the pistols from their waist. They had bought these guns together with the jeep from the military. They carefully checked the guns to ensure that they were in working condition before picking up their luggage bag to distribute the magazines in there.

Jiya!

The room to the door suddenly opened. Coco saw the three of them fiddling with guns and froze on the spot.

Qin Yu turned to the doorway and glared at Coco icily, “Who the hell allowed you in?”

“I-I left my bag on the sofa… Big brothers, you all do what you need to do. I’ll come back later to grab it…” Coco said as she quickly closed the door.

Old Cat glanced at the sofa and saw that Coco’s bag was indeed there. He turned to the other two and said, “Let’s hurry up.”

After the three of them were finally fully prepared, they left the compartment room and began heading to the third floor.

On the third floor.

Kang-ge’s phone rang. He eyed the number and moved to pick up the call, but before he could do so, he suddenly heard footsteps outside the door.

Along the corridor, a young man dressed in a goatskin windbreaker and a camo green cargo pants walked over in a pair of dirty leather boots. There was a thick belt fastened around his waist. He had a small ponytail combed at the back of his head. Leading four companions with him, they walked leisurely over to Room 9.

The goatskin windbreaker young man had a thick beard growing all over his face, and his eyes were exceptionally sharp. His lips seemed to constantly carry a hint of a smile, making it hard to fathom his thoughts. He glanced at the corridor behind him before saying, “He’s in there, go.”

Right after those words were said, the two companions at the leftmost and rightmost end beside him quickly hastened their footsteps and advanced forward when shouts suddenly echoed from the stairway of the second floor.

“Blanc, I have already given you all of my capital! What do you mean by this?”

“My dear Wu, can you not act as if I’m a swindler? I am not god, I can’t guarantee that everyone will earn money with me.”

“Don’t lie to me! I know that you have taken my money for yourself!”

“…!”

The man on the left turned to the goatskin windbreaker young man and asked, “Are we still doing it?”

“You don’t need to care about them. Just do what you need to do,” the goatskin windbreaker young man replied as he placed his arms into his sleeves.

Hearing those words, his companions hastened their footsteps.

Over on the second floor.

Three middle-aged men were currently tussling with three Caucasians, and there was a great deal of bellows and swearing coming from them. If one were to walk closer, one could smell a strong alcoholic smell coming from them.

As the stairway wasn’t too wide, the commotion ended up blocking off Qin Yu and the others’ way.

Qin Yu saw that there was no sign of them stopping the argument anytime soon, so he pulled aside the Caucasian man and said, “Excuse me.”

“You son of bitch, do you know how expensive my tuxedo is?” the Caucasian man roared arrogantly.

Old Cat stepped forward, pulled out the gun on his waist, and slapped it on the other party’s cheeks, saying, “You are living in our Communal Region, but you still don’t know how to keep a low profile? Get lost!”

Seeing that Old Cat had a gun with him, the Caucasians froze in place.

In this brief moment of silence, Qin Yu pushed aside the crowd and squeezed through the stairway with Old Cat and Qi Lin.

In less than ten seconds, the three of them had already arrived on the corridor of the third floor. While they were looking for Room 9, they suddenly heard the sound of someone kicking open a door on their left side.

Qin Yu immediately turned his head over.

Bang!

What followed swiftly with a resounding gunshot that echoed throughout Platinum Castle.

“What’s going on?” Qi Lin instinctively shifted his hand toward his waist.

Qin Yu also reacted swiftly to this sudden twist in situation too. He quickly scanned the signs hanging on the doors and noted that the place where the gunshot sounded from was no other than the Room 9 they were looking for.

At the same time, at a turn of a corridor further ahead, Kang-ge stared at the goatskin windbreaker young man with a look of fluster on his face, and he cursed, “You bunch of fucking…!”

The goatskin windbreaker young man pulled his hands out of his sleeves and slapped Kang-ge’s face smilingly. “Aren’t you happy to see me?”

“You!”

“Don’t shout. I’ll kill you if you do,” the goatskin windbreaker young man threatened. With a wave of his hands, he beckoned the others and said, “We’re leaving.”

“There was a gunshot earlier,” one of the companions reminded the goatskin windbreaker young man. “His boss must have some influence in this place.”

The goatskin windbreaker young man fiddled with his ponytail calmly before instructing, “It’ll be too troublesome to leave through the main entrance. We’ll leap out of the window.”

Hearing those words, the group quickly made their way over to the windowsill.

Along the corridor.

Qin Yu hesitated for a brief moment before running forward with all his might. After turning at two bends, he happened to witness the sight of Kang-ge being dragged out of the window.

Old Cat followed Qin Yu right away too, and he was met with the same sight. His position then was slightly behind that of Qin Yu then. In a moment of sharp wits, he yelled loudly, “Kang-ge!”

As he shouted those words, Old Cat pulled Qin Yu to hide behind a corner of the corridor.

Over at the windowsill, Kang-ge struggled to turn around after hearing that voice, but he found that the corridor was completely empty. Despite so, his mind whirred into action, and he shouted back, “Save me!”

Peng!

And barely after those words were said, the goatskin windbreaker young man dragged Kang-ge out of the window with him.

Standing by the bend of the corridor, Old Cat looked at Qin Yu anxiously and said, “What kind of shitty situation is this? How can this happen at this crucial juncture!”

Meanwhile, a cluster of flurried footsteps echoed from below.

“Shit!” Qin Yu cursed beneath his breath. “What kind of bad luck is this? Why do we stumble onto trouble no matter what we do?”
