Starting From Douluo, Glory is Invincible

Chapter 732: Deep in the soul

Chapter 732 Deep in the Heart

Deep in the dense forest, the night is as dark as ink, a full moon hangs high in the sky, and the silvery glow casts a mysterious veil over the forest. Ying, a dark attribute spiritualist, was lurking on the top of a big tree. His eyes were as sharp as a hawk, penetrating the night and staring at an open space in front of him.

The mission this time was to hunt low-level spiritual beasts. Although these spiritual beasts did not pose much of a threat to Shadow, he still did not dare to be careless in the slightest. He knew that even in the dark night when he had a great advantage, spiritual beasts might burst out with unexpected power.

Ying was concentrating on waiting for the prey to appear. Suddenly, a slight noise caught his attention. He looked sideways and saw Zhang Tao jumping down from another tree and landing steadily beside him. To Ying's surprise, Zhang Tao actually held a monkey in each hand.

These two monkeys have obviously been subdued by Zhang Tao. They hung their arms feebly and were at the mercy of Zhang Tao. Zhang Tao looked at the prey in his hands with a proud smile on his face.

“Ah!” He yelled, and then he put a little more force on his feet. He took the two monkeys into the air and rushed toward the top of the tree. The moment he reached the top of the tree, he let go suddenly, and the two monkeys suddenly lost their support and fell from the height.

With two dull crashes, the two monkeys fell heavily to the ground, and they lost consciousness in mid-air. Zhang Tao jumped down from the tree lightly and landed next to the two monkeys. He squatted down and prepared to inspect the harvest.

However, when he opened the chest of one of the monkeys, he was stunned. He originally thought he could see the spiritual core in the monkey's body, but what he saw in front of him was nothing.

“Eh? Where is the spiritual core?” Zhang Tao raised his head in confusion and looked at Ying.

Ying stepped forward, glanced at the monkey on the ground, and then said calmly: "You broke it."

"Ah? How could this happen?" Zhang Tao patted his head with some annoyance, "I thought this hunting mission was as simple as the previous one at Flame Cliff, but I didn't expect that such a mistake would occur."

Ying didn't say much, he knew Zhang Tao didn't mean it. After all, hunting spiritual beasts and extracting spiritual cores require certain skills and experience. He believes that with the passage of time and Zhang Tao's continuous experience, such mistakes will gradually decrease.

Just as the two were about to continue looking for the next prey, a scream suddenly came from the dark night. This scream was sharp and shrill, as if it could penetrate people's eardrums and penetrate deep into the soul.

Ying frowned slightly and immediately looked around alertly, trying to find the source of the scream. At the same time, a bad premonition arose in his heart.

He knew that besides them, there were other hunters and spiritual beasts in this forest. This scream was most likely made by one of them. He wasn't sure if this would affect their mission, but he had to be on high alert, just in case. "What's wrong?" Zhang Tao also heard the scream and asked nervously.

"I don't know." Ying said in a deep voice, "But we must be careful. This scream may cause unnecessary trouble."

As he spoke, he glanced at the surrounding environment again, and then whispered to Zhang Tao: "You stay here, I will go over and take a look."

Before Zhang Tao could answer, Ying's figure had disappeared into the night. He shuttled through the woods like a ghost, quickly approaching the source of the scream.

When he came to an open area, the sight before him made his heart sink slightly. I saw a young hunter slumped on the ground. His face was as pale as paper, and his eyes were full of fear and despair. Not far in front of him, a huge spiritual beast was slowly approaching.

This spiritual beast is more than twice the size of an ordinary monkey. Its eyes are as red as blood, its fangs are exposed, and it exudes a violent and ferocious aura. Obviously, this spiritual beast was not the low-level spiritual beast targeted by their mission. But a high-level spiritual beast.

Ying knew that he could not rush to save the young hunter at this time. Because once he attracts the attention of this high-level spiritual beast, he is likely to be involved in danger. But he couldn't just watch the young hunter being killed by the spiritual beast.

While he was thinking quickly about countermeasures, the high-level spiritual beast had already launched an attack. It jumped up suddenly and pounced on the young hunter. The latter struggled in despair and tried to escape but it was too late.

At this critical moment, a black shadow suddenly jumped out from the side and blocked the young hunter. Then a deafening roar echoed through the night sky. The high-level spiritual beast's attack was forcefully received by the black shadow.

The dark shadow was the one who arrived just in time. He used his body to block the fatal blow for the young hunter. Although he also received a lot of shock, he still stood there firmly without falling.

The high-level spiritual beast was angered by Shadow's actions. It lunged forward again with a deafening roar. The cold light in the shadow's eyes flashed forward without retreating, and he took the initiative to face the attack of the high-level spiritual beast.
